okay so ..... I've been cautious to post my review because my experience was so different from nearly every other reviewer. I hadn't even looked up reviews before being in contact with them, scheduling everything, & signing the contract, so when I did look them up & saw what I had potentially & unawaringly signed up for, I felt sick to my stomach & was worried pretty much the whole time that some bait & switch was about to happen. It ended up working out fine for me though without much issue so... maybe I just got really lucky?? Anyways, I moved from NYC to IA back in 2024 & am only now in a healthy enough headspace & life-situation to share my experience. I'm not sure how helpful this is for any perspective movers, I feel like it adds to the confusion of choosing who to work with, & I also know its coming so very late for the company but .... I've wanted to express my gratitude to those who did me right through that time in my life, which includes these guys. Here goes - I wrote most of this back when I was still waiting for my things .... I decided to use movers super last minute during a particularly rough transition & part of my life and was put into contact with Isaiah from Ryder Relocations after putting my info into some website for an estimate (which lead to so many calls from other moving companies, sketchy in my opinion but whatever.) It was only a couple of days before my move and they were able to find movers for me at a reasonable price. I had mostly boxes, like around 30 or so, and a couple pieces of fairly easy to move furniture which I think is what helped make the estimate pretty straightforward. Justin and Carlos, who did the pick-up, were amazing. They let me know when they were on their way and when they were having traffic troubles and gave me an updated time for when they would be there. Someone from the company (I can't remember their name) called the night before to get information about parking availability and to confirm the amount of staircases and answer any other questions I had. He also let me know there would be additional charges if they needed to park further away (something that I didn't need to worry about in the end but appreciated the info and think it really should have been shared during the time of the estimate too.) My things finally showed up about a week or more later, which was later than I expected & made me nervous due to the reviews, but it really was fine all the same, I didn't have a strict timeline & knew it could take up to 10 days (though later they said up to two weeks) & the mover who unloaded my things was also great (I forgot to write down his name back then) One of my items did get damaged but it is also a pretty cheap desk and works just the same when set up so I didn't mention it & don't really consider it all that impactful for this experience as it really seems more to do with the integrity of the piece of furniture itself not being the best than like... negligence when moving it They did offer me a $50 discount if I left a review but yeah with so many bad experiences listed I couldn't make up my mind on how to move forward with that & was already dealing with a lot personally health-wise & more (like I've only recently gotten internet in my apartment, its been a rough couple of years & then some.) I am giving four stars because of the stress of how fishy the company seemed/seems, as it really didn't help with an already stressful time personally & just.... the stress of moving in general. Do NOT use this company no matter what. After damaging our items and take longer than promised to deliver our stuff, we were told we had a certain amount of time to file a claim. Well within that window I filed a claim with the company they had handling claims, CSI. After some back and forth due to the timeline, my claim was accepted and waiting review when they suddenly terminated their relationship with CSI and I was told to call Ryder directly. This is after having it in review for 2 months due to so many claims they had to process. Well I've contacted Ryder and they have said they will not handle my claim, will not tell me who will (aka they are trying to deny it), and have told me they will NOT have someone call me. I have almost $1000 worth of damages and they have been shady and disgusting from the start. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Warning!! We hired them to move us from Iowa to Ohio. They gave us an estimate of less than 5000. They showed up with a small truck not a semi. We were in a 3 bedroom split level house. They said the size of the truck was what they calculated. 3 trucks, over 28,000 dollars and 4 days later they had our stuff moved out. Took them about 2 weeks to get abiut one third of our items to us. Some of these items were broken or destroyed. The test of our belongings never got to us. Some of our boxrs were even gone thru. Tried to contact them with no success. Filed insurance claim with their then insurance company. Got an email that the insurance company no longer represents Ryder Relocations. With missing and damaged items, we lost over 30,000.00. read more

I was subbed out to this moving company from America's Moving and storage. I had to reschedule my .ove. because the buyer of my home backed out of the deal and it took 2 months to sell it again. Meanwhile I had a binding agreement with Americas which I prepaid $1250. With the estimated cost of $3269.00. Ryder charged me over $10000.00 , demanded cash partial payment before loading, and cash on delivery. Some of my belongings were missing, my furniture was damaged, and many boxes of fragile glass items crushed even though they were labeled. On delivery I had to take a photo of the cash invoice and later requested they email them to me so that I could file a claim with their insurance carrier. UPDATE: SCAMS. PLEASE AVOID Long story short - they did end up coming to pick up, but there was a problem EVERY STEP OF THE PROCESS until I got my stuff FINALLY. BUT MOST OF MY STUFF was gone/missing/not delivered. I was quoted $1700, ended up being charged $2500 only to lose furniture that is worth MORE THAN the moving cost. They are gangsters. I genuinely wish they go out of business. They say they are not a broker but they are. Also avoid I Relocate You, the carrier they partner with. The worst people, EVILS EVER. Would definitely give a 0 if possible. My family and I moved from Cali to Texas. It was our first time moving, and we were needing professionals to help us move our things. They were so pleasant on the phone and even gave us a "manager discount". Upon arriving, the guys were super unprofessional. One even blew up our bathroom, they did not ask to use it, not knowing that the water was disconnected. That was fun to deal with. They kept up charging everything and so we had to carry every box up to the curb so they wouldn't charge us extra for having to bring it to the truck. And that's not even the kicker. They took a week to get us our stuff. Upon speaking to the sales rep in the beginning, they assured us our stuff would be safe and secluded. The guys ended up telling us we were just a pit stop and they had another job in LA to pick up so our stuff was pushed to the very back to make room. Upon arriving, everything was broken. And I mean everything. Our TV, electric bike, my son's crib, bed frame, just to name a few. After filing a claim, they offered us $120 for the damages. And they still have yet to even pay us out that small amount. I've tried and tried and they keep pushing it back to Ryder, who pushes it back to insurance and now it's been a year and still nothing. Where do I begin? First they said our move would be $6300 then on arrival they said it was $20,000! Second, I told them multiple times I could only pay with credit card and they assured me it was ok. They showed up and made me pay with a check that I had to post date. They agreed to it but have been telling me they won't unload until cashed. Third, they assured me all my stuff would fit in their van which was the smallest moving van I have ever seen. I have been moving with the Navy for years and have never gotten anything smaller then a semi. Shockingly, it did not fit so they had to come back a different day to finish. Fourth, they didn't finish the job! they didn't pack the whole kitchen, 4 bathrooms, random garden statues, mirrors, a giant mattress pad, and an entire closet wasn't packed. We moved from Delaware to AZ and they were supposed to pack and move the items to a friend's place for storage in Reno. After double charging us over our estimate, they finally delivered the load. Their driver damaged our friend's pole barn on the roof, the side and support beam. They also threw our boxes out of the truck oncthe ground and broke the legs off my husband's professional smoker. If you need or want to hire your own movers,DO NOT use Ryder Relocation or primeline moving. ( they contract together ) They quoted us one price and it was for the smallest size of each item ( which we weren't told until after the movers left the house with our things ) we had in our house, got to our house and told us it would be another 3K to take the rest of our items with them and we couldn't afford it nor could they do anything about the fact that they quoted us wrong which had us leaving literally half our house on the curb for bulk day and taking the U-Haul we could afford cross country. This company is a scam. They will lie through their teeth to get your business and then deny you service at great cost. After arriving the day after my planned move, in their haste, my drivers threw my boxes marked fragile across the room and said "not to worry, we handle everything with care" when I objected. They also said that despite barely making the minimum for cubic feet needed to hire, that they could not fit my bookshelves on the truck and left them. After all of this, they told me that my things were arriving 6 days prior to the first acceptable date that I listed on my contract and forced me to buy a storage unit with less than 24h notice. I contacted Ryder Relocations for a move from Colorado to Nevada. I was assured that Ryder would handle the entire move from packing and loading to driving and drop off. THIS was a lie. They sold out the contract and the new company demanded more money and would only take cash or money order for all services. They picked up my stuff and then stored it. There was a discrepancy in billing for the delivery and when I called the person who answered hung up on me and then blocked my number. The communication was awful and I really thought I would never see my things again. These people, like the reviews said, are liars...they quoted me one price and then upon arrival of the movers charged me 3x's the amount of what the original quote was. I had already paid the $3000. If i didnt continue with the move i would lose the money (they said it was a deposit). Upon arrival they told me that i had a full truck thats why the extra cost. The truck was only half full. They slamed the door down as i was trying to take pictures, and wouldnt pull the door up for me to finish the pictures. That truck was not even half full. The foreman got into a heated discussion with my friend about religion ( she is a catholic Christian and he was a Muslim) my only satisfaction was she really frustrated him with her answers and questions that he couldnt give her an answer for. Also when looking at the bill of lading it was wrong. These people know how to scam as they would only take cash, venmo, or a postal money order. I tried to give them a bank money order or personal check but refused and wouldnt unload my things until i paid them the balance due. These people are scammers they drained me of all my savings for this move and i am really mad at myself for not investgating them more. They are scam artist trying to steal peoples belongings and hold them hostage. Gave me a quote of 3600 from Long Island to Alabama driver had me sign a bunch of illegible paper after not even filling a quarter of a 27 ft truck which hold1700 cubic feet. They lead me to believe it was going straight to Alabama which was the original agreement. Due to unexpected fast move I got a call from the warehouse telling me that owed them almost 11,000 dollars. I told them to bring my items back or I would send a truck to get them and I was told they would not release my items till I paid at least 90% of the total almost 11,000. I told them I was canceling and I stop my deposit they told me I could not cancel there contract clearly states that you can cancel with no penalty if you cancel with in 3 days of signing the laden contract I canceled in less than 24 hr. They also told me I would have to pay storage fees they are very nasty if you want the audio recordings please message me so you can hear there scam and how they treat people. By the way I figured out the cubic feet and there was less there was 580 not 1400. You get told it done by the taped markings in truck and it does not go from floor to ceiling. Then 2 weeks later they call saying they have a truck that's all most full and they can send it down with it if I pay them 6300. Put in a request to a website Monday at 7:45 pm for a quick move across multiple states for a job (right under 2 weeks until move date). Within minutes I was called by Robert at Ryder Relocations. In about 3-4 minutes I told him our general inventory and the locations, to and from. He gave me a quick quote which I asked for him to email as he was the first company I spoke to and that I would need to talk about it to my partner. He nudged saying I needed to give him an answer at that moment which I tried nicely to ask for an email quote and my reasoning why I would not give an answer immediately. He kept pushing me and asked for me to speak to my partner while he was on the phone. He also sent me a text with his name but no quote. The call lasted 11 minutes which 6 of them were very uncomfortable and seemed scammy. Shortly afterwards I spoke to two other companies. Robert at Ryder tried to text again within 15 minutes of me getting off the original call with him. Still no actual emailed quote. He then text me aggressively that I needed to get back to him asap. It had literally been 17 minutes. Finally he text again saying it was my loss and he was just trying to help me. In total I received 5-7 texts in a 20 minute timeframe at 8pm on a Monday. This interaction was wildly awkward and very questionable while never actually giving me a written quote just pushing for me to give a down payment of $1300. U-Haul will forever get all of our money. I have a log of our entire encounter with them. From not picking up when they said they would, to charging us $3000 more at pickup, making us get an additional U-Haul to drive across country because they only took 1/3 of our items, to coming 2 weeks later than expected leaving us a month without our items, not calling before delivery, dropping them off outside our apartment complex- yes, complex NOT apartment (for them to get stolen and us to lug furniture and boxes across the complex), breaking/ruining some of our items, and delivering furniture that did not belong to us (yes, other people's furniture). We tried calling them about the furniture that was NOT ours and they said to email them pictures, we did, and no response 2 weeks later. Then, I called them today ( 2 weeks from sending the email) : their response: "management will get back with me." I asked " Do you have a time frame for when this would be?" If I could give them a zero, I would. I will NEVER do business with Ryder Relocations NJ again. Many items were damaged and crushed beyond repair during the move and they took ZERO responsibility for what was damaged. See my images for verifiable proof showing just a few of the many things that were DESTROYED. It was a HUGE mistake to trust them with our valuables. We spent hours gathering information and pictures proving the damage they caused. The claim process was months long, cumbersome and still ongoing and headed to arbitration. I would tell others STAY AWAY and do not use this company. I have pictures to prove the extensive damage to my items and to my house caused by their total lack of professionalism. Missing items too. Be very careful. I used a link and heard from dozens of moving companies. Ended up with Ryder Relocations out of New Jersey for a move from NY to TX. Quoted $2,300 but final bill is almost $5,000 because they charge for the unused space above your stuff in a tractor trailer and don't stack to the top. 650 cf of actual stuff but charging me for 1,100 cf after they loaded and measured inside the truck including overhead space. When they arrived they noted a few additional items that needed to be added, a head board, dresser and one or two other items. The rep called and said there would be a price adjustment and the new price was over $7,000.00! They claim someone on there staff made several errors on previous jobs but I was being punished for there staffers error. I of course canceled and they kept my deposit because I wouldn't approve the $7,000 plus increase to the quote. How do you go from $1,800 to $7,000 and expect me to pay not double but over triple the quoted price. You made the error and as a company should adjust for your employee's mistake. Before signing the agreement which said non refundable, I spoke to Steve M Moving Consultant at Ryder Relocations who then told me and sent me an email that if I canceled within 72 hours I would be refunded the full amount of the deposit. Because I was still unsure if house sale was going to go through and did not want to pay deposit yet. But Steve assured me if I canceled within the 72 hours I would get a full refund. LIES. I canceled the next day within 24 hours and Ryder would only give me an 80% refund. So I ended up paying 467.16. Anyone that charges as much as they do for deposit is not legit. They allow a credit card down payment for 1st pmt (small amount). Then they want your checking routing number and account; then the largest amount is cash or bank transfer. They have several offices handling your private information and the staff does not communicate with each other until after they pick up furniture (all cash). Rude staff and a lot of dishonesty to get your private information and cash. They rate themselves for reviews as a 5 star when the service is 0 star. They did not want to deliver my furniture because they wanted over several thousand dollars in cash paid to their delivery drivers. Drivers get paid off the record. You give them cash for their time instead of an official paycheck. No taxes, no reporting, and no confusion (IRS SCAM- with no traceability to transactions). read more

Firstly, I called to confirm pickup at 9am morning of. They said yes 9 am. Next thing I know it is 5:30pm when they show up. They never updated me with new times unless I called to see what was happening. Upon pickup they charged me and extra $2,200 than quoted even when I left out items. Those Items I left out the 2 moving people from Gin & Lou (yes they use a third party) TOOK those items for themselves... After they had my items they would not give me any updates on timing or even where my items were. The customer service was extremely rude upon me inquiring where my items may be. They were also very rude when I told them some items were missing. They also delivered my items at 7pm and weren't done till 9:30pm. They were not willing to help me and guide me on how to submit a claim. Once I finally figure out how to submit a claim due to a missing item that claim was denied because it "wasn't on the itemize list as picture box (just "box"). Absolute scammers. Made a reservation and confirmed the 72 hour cancellation three times. I did cancel within that period but was still charged a significant fee. When I called they refused to return it but only offered a company credit. They are all about taking your money and care nothing for customer service. read more

This company is dishonest and unprofessional SCAMMERS. I called and spoke to the first customer service representative, Christina. She asked me to describe all the items in my 2 bedroom apartment. After going through the list, a quote was given $3600 to move from Texas to California on May 12th, 2024. I paid the 1399.79 deposit and was told to pay the total of $991.40 at pick up and the remaining delivery with zelle or cash or an ups money order. I had several customer service representatives call to confirm the pick-up date, which changed from Friday the 10th of May and changed again to the 11th, not my original date booked on May 12th. I had several calls from Ben, the driver wanting to move the date of my move to an earlier date, which I found annoying. On the 11th of may received another call all being from a 3rd party to go over inventory The day before the movers were scheduled for pickup which was the 11th or 12th due to the frequency of the changes made by the drivers. The representative asked to do the video of my item on WhatsApp. After the video of my items. The quote went from $3600 to $7000. I was shocked. Debbie from the 3rd party asked if the first rep Christina did the video of my items prior to the quote given. She did not nor gave me an option. Debbie indicated the items weren't accurate, and they go by cubic square feet, which was never mentioned during my initial conversation with Christina. I decided to cancel immediately by email and called customer service and spoke to Sam, the customer service manager, who was very rude and unprofessional. She indicated I would not get my deposit back because I signed the bill lading agreement. The agreement was signed based on the quote given for $3600, not $7000 due to the misinformation given by the first representative, Christina. I will fight for my deposit and will never EVER use this company. What a scam and unprofessional. I would hate for someone else to have to go through this at the last minute of their move. I am now renting a truck, and we are driving to California ourselves. This company needs to be investigated or shut down completely. After my situation, I read their reviews OMG.
