I wanted to buy ribbon various color sizes and types. When I walked towards the back of the store to look at the ribbon, I was flabbergasted!!! my eyes open so wide my mouth dropped open. I had just stepped into ribbon heaven. I came away with maybe 20 different ribbons, maybe 5 yards each and $48 bill. Well worth it. I wanted various types to make ribbon book markers. I will post a picture so you could see how beautiful they came out. I will be back with a pocket full of money to buy more ribbon.

She was a wizard at assisting us in choosing a cat-proof fabric to restore our beloved Room & Board sleeper sofa (it has the best sleeper mattress by far). Joanne has experience in cat-proofing with her own little critters, and she swore by the fabric that looked great after 7 years and counting in her house. It definitely gave us confidence, even knowing how destructive our little critters can be. Joanne was extremely responsive and most of our communication was accomplished remotely, but we also benefited greatly from visiting the office and going through fabrics. She gave us a competitive price that INCLUDED pickup and delivery, which is a rarity these days and made for an UNBEATABLE price. The sleeper sofa was no easy task for delivery, but Joanne's crew was amazing in bringing it back in pieces and reassembling on the spot! Perfectly done. The quality of the upholstering work is impeccable. Joanne's team did such a good job that we now know the areas where Room & Board skimped, as Joanne's team did not skimp! They went above and beyond, and somehow the aforementioned sleeper mattress is even MORE comfortable. I really can't say enough about the job Valley Upholstering did. I went in looking for a blender for my project and found it right away. John was very helpful, friendly and obviously loves what he does. The shop has a good selection of solids and blenders as well as some Riley Blake. He just opened last August so is still in the process of accumulating inventory but there is lots to choose from. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for quilting help as well. While I was browsing, a woman came in looking for a starting point and John encouraged her to come in for the free sew so he could help her get started. The shop is welcoming and as he is building it up, I highly encourage anyone looking for blenders, notions, patterns, batting etc to go in. I bought several great blenders and a cute novelty fabric. His cuts are very generous! And he gave me a gift for coming in! Go in and find your blenders, solids and you too can get a very useful gift!

Once upon a time, when I was a wee lil' CL, I collected stickers (in hindsight, sticker collecting…read morenever really had the cache of coin or stamp collecting nor did it stand the test of time, but that didn't get in the way of my obsessive compulsion to collect Lisa Frank, scratch n sniff, hologram, mylar etc....indulge me in this nerdy traipse through memory lane). Back in the day my haven was a place called Pleasant Thoughts; this is where I would blow my wee lil' allowance on stickers, stationery and other trinkets. I'm now a grown woman and to this day I adore stationery stores; Paper Mulberry is the epitome of fine stationery (minus the stickers). If you're looking for unique cards, invitations, gifts, pens, travel journals and other specialty items, this is the place to be. You can literally find yourself in there forever perusing all the displays in this tiny shop in Stevenson Ranch. I picked up my holiday cards including a really cool set designed by MOMA and a gift for a coworker. It's not cheap, but despite this I always leave Paper Mulberry with a smile on my face, it's truly a gem in the SCV.
