Lori and her team created custom sweaters and hats for my daughter's bat mitzvah, and they were absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The level of professionalism, creativity, organization, and attention to detail was beyond anything we expected. Every single piece was beautifully made, high quality, and thoughtfully designed -- they truly elevated the entire event. Not only was the work stunning, but the experience working with Lori was seamless. She was responsive, collaborative, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was perfect. Her team handled everything with such ease and positivity, which made a very busy time feel effortless. The kids were obsessed with the sweaters and hats -- it became one of the highlights of the celebration! You can tell this is a company that takes pride in what they do and cares deeply about their clients. If you're planning an event and want something creative, unique, and executed flawlessly, A Thread Ahead is the absolute best choice. We are so grateful and would recommend them without hesitation. Thank you, Lori and team, for helping make our daughter's bat mitzvah so special!

They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional from the first phone call. Their pricing was better than everyone else I contacted, and they took the time to show me different font sizes and options until I found exactly what I wanted. They completed my order in less than 24 hours at no extra charge, and the embroidery turned out exactly as I had envisioned. I highly recommend them and will definitely be back!

Basically most of the time when I shop through them I have no specific project in mind. I just decide I *need* a yard or two of something to sit in my stash for like 5 years until I have a project in mind. I've ordered several of the different weaves - taffeta, dupioni (multiple versions including their tricolore that I don't think is carried anywhere else), shambala... I've found their colors are very true to my screen, the quality is great, I haven't encountered much in the way of flaws, and they ship really quickly. My bestie ordered a selection of silver samples to decide on fabric for her wedding outfit and they were all accounted for, and when she finally picked, it was the same color lot too. Two things that are nice/funky about Silk Baron 1) the 12 days of Christmas limited edition print/embroidered/patterned silks that roll out in December and 2) they have regular scrap sales for 1/2 and 3/4 cuts of basically everything and it's perfect for people who make small items or do things like patchwork and appliqué.

I immediately met the owner John as he welcomed me when I opened the door. He's warm, friendly and helpful! After about an hour of browsing I bought beautiful white, textured fabric, thread and a Patchwork Quilt book. His prices are reasonable... pleasant surprise! He carries an array of solid rainbow colors. His selection of beautiful, colorful modern fabric prints is even more impressive! If you are a quilter, a seamstress , or have a simple/beginner interest in learning about fabric/sewing, a pop in visit is worth your time! He also offers free sew days in his shop... sewing machines are provided. I plan to pop back in within the next two weeks!

I went in looking for a blender for my project and found it right away. John was very helpful, friendly and obviously loves what he does. The shop has a good selection of solids and blenders as well as some Riley Blake. He just opened last August so is still in the process of accumulating inventory but there is lots to choose from. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for quilting help as well. While I was browsing, a woman came in looking for a starting point and John encouraged her to come in for the free sew so he could help her get started. The shop is welcoming and as he is building it up, I highly encourage anyone looking for blenders, notions, patterns, batting etc to go in. I bought several great blenders and a cute novelty fabric. His cuts are very generous! And he gave me a gift for coming in! Go in and find your blenders, solids and you too can get a very useful gift!
