Do not use this company!! I have not ordered oil from them for years and just got a $50 recurring charge invoice, apparently, they AUTO enrolled me in the price protection and that comes with a $50 fee, this is not something I requested or want, they will not take the charge away for a service I didn't want and did not request (which means eventually it will go to collections). I refuse to pay it and will be filing a consumer complaint with the state, first it's $50 that I'm expected to pay then it's $100, $200 and so on for services I DON'T want. read more

Why is there no zero option? We bought a condo in August 2025. Everything about the condo in Newmarket has been amazing except that it is serviced by Superior Plus Propane (which took over for Rymes). Here's an abbreviated timeline: Summer 2025 -Requested cleaning and servicing of our Rinnai hot water heater and monitor heater, plus a new account set up. -New account couldn't be utilized until a safety inspection was conducted. -Had to harass them several times to get on the books. Done. -Safety inspection found that one pipe was corroded slightly, so I booked the fix and asked that they do the routine cleanings at the same time. -Tech comes out, fixes pipe, and tells me they never booked time for the cleanings. -Called customer service, they said the tech didn't read the notes (the techs have said the office has no clue ever and that the mergers were a mess--I have met many techs). -They decide to send out a new tech to clean for free (ok, fine, decent action). -A while later they come out and clean the Rinnais and state that the flame rods should be fixed. I call and order the parts and they are backordered. Annoying, but understandable. Quite a while later they finally come in, send a tech out after lots of calls. -They attempt to install the rods and find they are on too tight. Need a sparkle wire. Needs to be ordered. To date, we still haven't heard back about the sparkle wire or flame rod installation (I have a box of flame rods they left in my basement). The next few months after being told by at least 10 reps that they bill monthly: -Not billed until DECEMBER after calling at least monthly asking for billing/meter read. -They read it several times before it turned into a real bill. I watched them do it, as I work remotely. Still, bill was not created until December. Dec 2025: -I have a bill. Yay! -I pay the bill. -I am assured again that the bills will start being more regular now and that usually, billing is monthly. In between: -I call at least monthly, sometimes weekly. Guess who still doesn't have a bill or any decent guidance as to when I will receive one. 3/20/26: -I reach out to Samantha Hebert as she has at least responded before. This is when I learn she has quit. -Someone named Rachel Bitomske gets back to me and says "I can get that meter read." Later in March 2026: -I keep expecting a bill -I am told the meter was read on 3/30/2026 -The meter apparently gets read THREE TIMES, still, no bill -I have HAD IT, so I begin calling them regularly asking why the readings aren't turning into bills. April 2026 -One guy swears he will deal with the situation and make it his personal priority to call me within two hours. He doesn't. -FINALLY, at the end of April, I meet Casey. She is able to see that each of the 3 meter readings has come back at 0. Casey follows up with me on 4/24/2026 saying that this needs to be escalated and that service needs to get involved. She lets me know they will come out the following Tuesday to check the meter and to call her back on Wednesday. -I call back Wednesday. Meter is broken. -I ask for details about what's going to happen as I need to know my usage, and when I can expect a repair/bill. She doesn't know. -I talk with another person named Selene during this time, too, who tried to escalate my claim to Kelly (I think?) 4/30/26 -I call back as they called my husband instead of me. Kelly is not available, but wants to schedule the repair for May 5. We schedule it. -I agree to this, but still am not able to get details out of this new girl about how the process is going to go, or the timeline. She says she will get the District Manager and Kelly to call me back. -She doesn't call me despite me telling them point-blank I've had enough of being given the runaround. -I call in again and am told this is being brought to the attention of Betsy. The rep promises me that she has taken notes on my concerns and messaged her. She hopes that she will call me, given what has happened. It is not 8:10 PM. No call. No email. Nothing. We are on automatic delivery in multiple locations. They never deliver on time. We constatntly have to call for a delivery because the tanks get so low they start pumping propane smell throughout the building. Seriously use any other fuel delivery company, they are all much better than Rymes. read more

They service my elderly mother that has been over-paying them, mistakenly paying twice a month and even over a $1000 on a couple of occasions. They cash the checks yet don't appear to credit her. When you call they leave you on hold indefinitely. I actually waited on hold for 1 hour and 18 minutes and they disconnected me. Their automated service even stated that I was first in the cue as I had made the call right when they opened. I consider that total customer service evasion. Communication is awful. 4 days to return a call or email. Once site visit was completed and told to digbtrench,which I did, to find out it will be 5 weeks before the install. Techs showed up to install lines, to let my wife know the trench filled in and needs to be dug out. She offered to do it as it was all sand,easy to do,because they wouldnt do it. Told my wife they dont have time and will need to reschedule. Then to have "New Tanks" were to be installed for $2400. Luckily before they were connected I was able to look at the tanks to find out they dropped of 10year old tanks. I called and asked them to pick up the tanks and refund my deposit. Never have I experienced such awful service. They will go out of business real soo with the lack of communication for sure. They didnt even attempt to make it right,especially after damaging my brand new shed they put the tanks behind. read more

I'm on an automatic plan that we've been on since before my husband died and I naively kept it, assuming it was a decent plan. After I began to complain to my friends about how much I was spending on oil, I did some Googling and discovered I am paying about $1.50 MORE PER GALLON than is typical in the Monadnock region of NH. In addition, customer service can't even give me a single number to dial to reach them. They have a convoluted system and each time I call, the phone number is different. The oil delivery and the propane delivery parts of the company are separate now but under the same umbrella and it is incredibly confusing. I am finding a new, reasonably priced local oil company today! I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

Check your bill! There is no notice of price increase. They presently $1.24 more than the local oil delivery alternative in my area. Apparently after 1 year, they do not notify you on the auto delivery service of price increase. I was told they "couldnt possibly notify all of our customers," "that is on you to be aware if the price." They have been price gouging me for years and i didnt realize it because i was on auto delivery and silly me i figured they would notify my of price increases and / or at least try to remain competitive or comparable to other cendors in the area. Do your self a favor and investigate locally owned and operated propane companies. We had a Rymes tank already in place when we bought our new vacation home. We never experienced any problems for over 13 years until Rymes was taken over by Superior Propane of NY. The lack of customer service was appalling and unwanted deliveries were made. We stopped our service with them and waited for over 2 months for a $700 refund for gas that was in their tank when they finally had time to take it away from our property. The State of New Hampshire should have more authority and oversight of propane suppliers. read more

Service and maintenance division is a complete farce and literally lied to us about services they charged us for. We've paid them for cleaning and service our furnace and it was not completed. I had a small local business in my home report that no cleaning had been done and that is the primary reason we have had no heat AND no hot water for 2 days. I would stay away from their service and cleaning and maintenance division. Trying to contract a new delivery service as well. read more

Customer support has terribly long wait times. Rymes picked up my two propane tanks on 11/2/2022 it is now one week short of being three months since the pick up and I have still not received my refund for overpayment of $590.50. I have contacted the customer support line on three separate occassions since 11/2/2022 only to be told each time to "just wait a little longer". When I pressed for a more definite time frame I was told "there isn't one, just wait a little longer". How long does it to cut a refund check to the customer? I do not recommend doing business with this company, the customer support and responsiveness are both terrible! UPDATE as of 2/7/2023: It has now been 13 weeks since Rymes picked up their propane tanks. And finally... we received our refund of $590.50. We will never do business with this company again, over 3 months to refund money that is owed to a customer is absolutely unacceptable! So, if you are waiting on this company to send you a refund of your own money my advice is to have plenty of patients because you are going to need it!!! read more

I've had Rymes for a while now but the fact they think it's appropriate to go around on Christmas Eve and fill tanks for $620 is unacceptabl. luckily I do well enough that I can accommodate this unexpected holiday cost but I would assume there are plenty who this would be detrimental to especially this time of year. So I normally do not write reviews but the service and customer service I got from this company was the worst ever. I call them for an inspection on a new tank they come and inspect it and then fill it in Dec .. All is well right ? Now call for another fill up and we are good right..?? NOPE the guy decided to cut off the bag and 20 ft of duck tape to fill an old tank under the house that is no good and not my reg tank .. Easy fix huh..?? NOPE.. The people *Jeff* I do think is his name was so rude and blaming us for the mix up.. Seriously U INSPECTED the tank you knew where it was and then refuse to help as I am out of fuel since the day before .. NEVER offered me any help or even a few gallons of fuel to get me threw the day.. Being disabled I had to sit in a cold house for almost 24 hours and was told by Jeff * I get no calls all day then this..It is almost 3pm and I am going home as I am tired..WTF seriously..??? I have NEVER owed them a dime always paid cash on delivery mind you .. Then he tells me they did not inspect the tank LOL Seriously cause you did and I have the papers showing it with a fill up U DID in Dec . My husband ordered oil last Tuesday, 11/26/24. We had enough oil to get us to the following Tuesday, 12/3/24. I called them early Tuesday morning to check on my delivery and the dispatcher stated that it hadn't even been routed yet. I told her that we will run out before the end of the week and she said "Well, we're 7-10 business days out for deliveries so if you ordered last Tuesday, it should be there this week sometime. Then she told me that I could go buy 5 gallons of diesel to tie us over until they can get to our house. Okay so I'm giving them $500.00 for 100 gallons of oil and on top of that I have to pay for diesel as well to tie me over because they can't deliver my oil when my husband ordered it the week before? It's Wednesday and we still haven't received our oil. There is going to be a storm over night tonight dropping 4-8 inches of snow in my area. They won't drive up a snowy driveway and we don't have the money to pay to have it plowed along with the cost of diesel so I don't know what we're going to do. I'm really upset about this situation. They seem to not care that diesel is very expensive! They don't seem to care if people run out because they can't deliver within 1.5 weeks! Having my pump primed from running out is also very expensive. Do I have to call a year in advance? I'm really upset and disappointed. We're sitting in our cold house hoping that we will get our oil tomorrow or Friday, but we shouldn't have to go through this for the prices they're charging! read more

I CAN'T GIVE THIS COMPANY A LOW ENOUGH REVIEW!!!! It has been horrible and extremely stressful working with them. They were supposed to replace our tank, but canceled three times and did a no-show once. One of the ladies, Michelle, I worked with, blatantly lied to me telling me she left a voicemail for me, but I never received a voicemail. Then she changed her story and said she left a voicemail on my husbands phone, but he did not have a voicemail either. Finally they got someone out here to replace the tank. His name was Tom. I asked him if I needed to call and order it to be filled because it was below 15% full. He said no that he would put the order in. No one ever came to fill it within the timeframe he gave me. So, I called and got someone's voicemail. I left a detailed message. No one called me back. A week later I called again. i found out nobody had put an order in apparently. So the lady put me on hold for over 15 minutes. Eventually I hung up and called back. The next person I spoke with gave me a major attitude and told me that an order had been put in and they were coming out today. I asked her "why no one got back on the phone and told me this, but left me on hold for 15 minutes?". I was very polite when I asked this. She gave me more attitude and told me they were short staffed. I then told her thank you and goodbye. Mind you, every conversation I've had with them, I have remained calm and polite and kept my cool. They have horrible rude customer service, not to mention bad service in general. You would be better off finding another oil company. We will be changing as soon as we can. read more

I had been a customer of Rymes for several years and had requested automated delivery and automatic payment. The company has fallen apart and are not able to keep up with what they have. I write this during a winter that has not been excessive and this is the second time I have run out of fuel. I had run out the last time and they sent a truck that dumped oil in my driveway and after days of half ass cleaning I just gave up dealing with them and should have cancelled my account then. Well today out of oil again and when i called to cancel they didnt have a care in the world and didnt even inquire as to why I was canceling. Do yourself a favor and find another supplier. read more

Rhymes is charging a $9.00 'fuel recovery' charge on deliveries. This is in addition to the 'hazard waste' charge of $13.62 for heating oil, an additional cost of $22.62. This is not disclosed on their website or verbally when talking with a customer representative. read more

Just received my Rymes E-bill Jan. 4th. I look and the payment due date is December 28th! Kind of hard to pay a bill on time when you get it a week late....And to add to that, I notice I am being charged a "meter maint. fee" of 20.00 a month.....But the customer service girl that answered, after me being on hold for 45 minutes, did reassure me i would not have to pay a late charge...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! Very disappointed with this company. After years of being with them I would NEVER suggest ANYONE use them. Every year they have ALWAYS made sure my tank was filled for the summer and my allotted oil was used. This year they did not. If I could score Rymes lower than 1 star I would. These people are thieves. They let me run out of propane and told me that I was on will call. I have never called them for deliveries. Then charged me to leak test the system before they would turn it back on. The gas didn't leak out, they let it run out. After that I told them I would no longer buy my propane from them so do not deliver any more product. They ignored me, and billed me and told me I could not be on will call for propane. Rhymes is horrible, the worst oil company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The stories you read of people who have Automatic Delivery running low on oil and then getting told they would be charged a trip fee for a fill are all true. I found out after speaking with a Supervisor that it is their company policy. THEY calculate when you are supposed to run out of oil (and their calculations are so wrong), and if you try to tell them you are low now, you get told, rudely, that it will be an inconvenience to them and you will be charged a trip fee of $105.00 -- and you get to listen to how many other customers you will inconvenience. In addition, Rhymes oil prices are much higher than their competition. I don't know one single reason why anyone would want to do business with this company. Buxton, my old oil company, welcomed me back with open arms and came to fill the tank that day. No added fee. Buxton has always been excellent. The only reason I Ieft was because of a propane issue, and now Buxton does propane too. Do yourself a favor and dump Rhymes before you have an issue. read more

Warning Warning We are not Rymes Costumers and they filled our tank. We did not order any delivery from Rymes or our supplier. Their driver trespassed. During his trespass and pirate delivery scared my kids by trying to break into our basement. The driver also removed the tank tag from our propane supplier. Also, the scam delivery was said to be 99 gallons. A few days ago our tank was just over 70% and after their fraudulent delivery we are at 80%. We have 500 gallon tank, the math does not add up. They left a bill with a price of almost $2 higher than our actual provider. This company is a fraud. read more

Just need to say....I am very disappointed in Rymes!! We ran out of propane in February only because one of our gauges was stuck, therefore, not getting a correct reading for a month. When we arrived at our home in February..we had no heat. A technician came to deliver the propane. We were warned that when you run out of propane..they need to do a "leak" test. Ok...I understand. However, the tech never did the leak test even when I asked if he was. He remarked..you don't need a leak test..you're out of propane (because of the stuck valve). When I received the bill..there was a $75 charge for a leak test even though its wasn't done. Wy husband and I were out with the tech the entire time! Believe me..it wasn't done! I called last week to inquire and state my case. The "hub" mgr said she was standing behind her tech and my outstanding balance is $75. Seriously?! read more

We've had Rymes for years and since they've switched over to another billing company but remained Rymes things changed quick. Our propane is $5.05 per gallon when everyone else is charging $3 per gallon. We started to shop around and went with Eastern for a much better price. Rymes called us to ask if we would stay for $2.50 per gallon "locked in". Ummm... if you can offer $2.50 per gallon then why are you charging us $5.05 per gallon?! Can we get a refund for the difference. The answer was no. They said they can't change the past. This company is taking advantage of so many people in such a difficult time to make ends meat. WHY is it so difficult for drivers to leave an invoice slip in the door after a delivery? It should be a normal routine yet rarely ever happens. Unless I am there to witness the delivery and ask the driver to please leave an invoice it never happens! It's just good business practice and common courtesy. I have had them for 4 years and they were great, But since new takeover they STINK. I have had no heat for 3 weeks and had 2 technicians and the last one said he had to order a part 2 weeks ago.
