I was stuck in a traffic jam on Joshua Tree Scenic Highway, and was forced to turn around snd drive over ten miles to reach a public bathroom. Despite signs posting pride in cleanliness, and a sign up sheet on the outside of the door marking intermittent cleaning duties performed to the bathroom, it was TRULY one of the dirtiest, grossest bathrooms I have visited. Before going into THAT space, I considered buying a prepackaged sandwich, but the thought of any employee in that store touching food that I would consume rapidly sickened me. I am reporting them to the health department on Monday. And, by the way, the 5:00 p.m. cleaning was checked off already at 4:30 p.m., so someone better tell management that a member of the cleaning crew is a Time Traveller! Shame on the management.

I asked an employee if there was anywhere in the store I could sit down, and her manager showed me to their break room in the back. They were kind enough to let me sit in their air conditioning in the break room for several hours while I called my insurance, figured out my situation, and eventually waited for a tow truck. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful, and many offered to help my situation however they could. I am very grateful to the staff at this location.

The line was long, and the wait was definitely noticeable, but after one bite of their Fancy Smash Burger, we completely understood why. This wasn't just a great burger--it was one of those meals that makes you stop talking for a minute because you're too busy enjoying it. The perfectly seasoned beef, combined with their incredible signature sauce, crisp lettuce, and fresh tomatoes, created an absolute explosion of flavor. Every bite was better than the last. They only sell bottled sodas, but they also offer water, which was perfectly fine for us and let the burger remain the star of the show. For the first time, we also tried Dirty Potato Chips, and they were fantastic. Crunchy, flavorful, and the perfect companion to an already amazing meal. One of the best parts? Capital Farms is also a butcher shop. Before leaving, we picked up some of their ground beef so we can try making our own smash burgers at home.
