No more being lost in the icy cold as I try to find what they said was "real easy to get to". No more sitting on a wet patch on the train because you're so tired after your long trek through the snow so sit you must. No more being bundled up like a baby, awwww. No more deliberately missing my bus so I can take more pics in the snow. In fact all I see ahead is "pay more for the AC bill". FML because I luuuurve winter so much! Bye-bye baby. You've been kind. We hired Lukens Marine to shrink wrap our patio furniture last Fall. My son also had them shrink…read morewrap his furniture. My son had a seam open up on his wrapped furniture and called Mike at Lukens. Mike told him he was out of town for a family wedding but would come by the following week to address the issue. He never came to resolve the issue. Today I opened up our patio furniture and there was easily 3" of water pooled on the bottom of the shrink wrap packaging and there were decayed leaves in the shrink wrapping as well. Clearly the shrink wrap wasn't properly sealed at the time it was applied. There was rusty water running out of the legs of the patio table and bench. My deck has visible signs of rust stains from where the water accumulated and came in contact with the furniture frames. Covering the pieces with furniture covers in prior years wasn't a good solution. The covers would blow off and water would penetrate. I expected a more professional outcome by choosing to shrink wrap the pieces. Clearly that was not the outcome we received. I won't use or recommend Lukens Marine Services for shrink wrapping in the future.

Check whatever box you want on the form they send you but it means nothing once they have your credit card on file. I had a generator rebuilt, but the impeller was not replaced, after sitting on there work bench for 5 months resulting in additional costs. After spending $15,000 on the initial rebuild, I was quoted an additional $3,000 to fix the impeller issue. That should have been done while on there bench. However, I found an alternative service provider who completed the repair for half the cost. He was outraged at what they wanted to charge me. (The mechanic said they have a very bad name in the industry.) This experience has led me to question their pricing practices. Over the course of two years, I have spent $30,000 on their services. Despite this, they did not provide any complimentary services, such as a startup for my boat in the beginning of the season but had the balls to tell me they pulled my boat and tied it up, but sent some stupid shit in the mail as a thank you. lol. Furthermore, when I encountered issues with a rebuilt pod, I was asked to pay for the repair. They installed my exhaust wrong so no water came out the exhaust, if they threw in the start up they would have seen that. I would strongly advise others to explore alternative options. It appears that their business practices prioritize profit over customer satisfaction. As a business owner myself of a 4 generation company I understand the importance of providing quality service and value to customers. Giving a little back goes a long way. THEY ARE NO GOOD. (Please don't respond that you're sorry to hear my disappointment. You give nothing back to your customers but take and take! )

And then there are my favorites, the dragon boats. Each type is owned by different groups and share the use of the boathouse and the lake. TASCA offers sailing lessons, ROW New York practices on their sculls and HK Dragon Boat Festival has their weekly practices & annual festival around the lake. The boardwalk, docks and boat launches are in very well-kept renovated condition to service all the boat types. The large parking lot adjoining the boathouse provides ample parking most of the year except during the weekend of the HK Dragon Boat Festival when it fills up in the pre-dawn hours. The lake might seem stagnant but is actually flowing from north to south with plenty of wildlife such as ducks, geese, seagulls and the occasional cormorant. There are certainly fish in the lake due to the many marine birds diving for them in the water and the fish that was hiding from them in the bottom of our dragon boat.
