Well, I have been a customer of Boatmax and North Minneford Marina only 8 years...8 happy years of…read moremy life and life of my family. I purchased from Boatmax two sailboats and in both cases Bob/Robert helped me to make right decisions. In addition, he offered tremendous amount of support after the deal was closed, including becoming my sail instructor (at no cost!!!) and eventually becoming my very good friend. I guess Sarah is right in some of her observations, Bob is not one of those sales guys who will sugar coat the deal essentially forcing you into making a very serious decisions of your life - changing your life style and becoming a sailor. Well, Sarah, I'm sure he could also become your friend. I don't know all reasons to make Sarah feel uncomfortable at North Minneford Marina, sometimes we all happen to have one of those days. Sarah, I'm certain that you could also become a very happy customer of North Minneford had you chosen to do so. Why, just because I meet so many happy people every single time I get there. This summer I will be flying my Beneteau First 345 next to Captain's Bob Beneteau First 35s5 and I'm sure it will be another very happy summer of my life. Captain Andy

Let me tell you, the process from my accepted offer to the last signature was nothing less than extraordinary for this newbie. Nathalie was always accessible to answer questions and offer good suggestions and related services. The surveyor she introduced me to was diligent and extremely professional from the actual practice to an excellent report. The quantity of her many satisfied clients is obviously a direct reflection of the quality service Nathalie and the staff at Boatmax provide."

They did great work for me in 2010 but were incorrigibly absent and unmotivated on a recent metalworking job for which they had all the parts on site.

Like a lot of guys in the boating business, the proprietor, Wes Rodstrom, knows everything there is to know about sailing, and when he stands close to you, his massive brain acts as a magnet, erasing your knowledge about sailing, physics, fair price for goods and labor, and self-esteem. He doesn't hesitate to let you know that you're just a giant credit card waiting to swipe, and all his "advice" will end up costing you $700-70,000 dollars. At Consolidated, you're not allowed to do any of your own bottom painting--they would prefer if you would pay them $25/foot plus materials to do it for you. At first I was told that EPA regulations prevented me from doing this, since I haven't taken some 40 hour class. This is of course, total crap, and when I pointed out the real regulation, I was told that I wasn't allowed to do my own bottom paint for "insurance" regulations, something about someone once falling off a ladder. Of course, I don't need a ladder to paint my hull, and it would take anyone doing it all of an hour, so I wasn't about to pay them $500. I was then told that if I didn't paint the bottom I would likely be "not able to sail" the boat, which is just crazy. Anyway, I'll paint it for next season, when the boat will be up on blocks for winter storage at some place far away from Wes's influence. Barron's boatyard looks like a much better option on City Island. Don't give people like Wes the time of day.

I just had him wrap my boat abd it included, a Boat Dehumidifier, 2 air vents, and a access door with zipper. Today is November 27th, 2022. The price was $280. Everyone else was $350 and up. Crazy. I recorded the install, and here is the video if you wanted to see his workmanship. https://youtu.be/p82KmjqEPHQ I gave him the JoeteckTips instant Awesome Rating and I recommend his services. In the spring he will be detailing and painting the bottom of the boat that is how happy I am. Thank you Mike!

My son had a seam open up on his wrapped furniture and called Mike at Lukens. Mike told him he was out of town for a family wedding but would come by the following week to address the issue. He never came to resolve the issue. Today I opened up our patio furniture and there was easily 3" of water pooled on the bottom of the shrink wrap packaging and there were decayed leaves in the shrink wrapping as well. Clearly the shrink wrap wasn't properly sealed at the time it was applied. There was rusty water running out of the legs of the patio table and bench. My deck has visible signs of rust stains from where the water accumulated and came in contact with the furniture frames. Covering the pieces with furniture covers in prior years wasn't a good solution. The covers would blow off and water would penetrate. I expected a more professional outcome by choosing to shrink wrap the pieces. Clearly that was not the outcome we received. I won't use or recommend Lukens Marine Services for shrink wrapping in the future.
