I had a great experience at S&S Smog Check Star Test Only with Jack! As soon as I pulled in around 10 AM, a UPS truck arrived right before me for a smog check too, which told me this place is trusted by locals. Jack immediately greeted me, told me it would be about 15 minutes, and invited me to wait inside while I paid my DMV registration online. The office is currently being updated, but it was clean, smelled fresh, and had plenty of seating. By the time I finished my registration, my car was already being prepared for service. Jack has been in business since the 1980s and at this location for the last 10 years, and you can tell he knows his stuff. He was friendly, funny, and easy to talk to. Yelp sent my request to five smog shops, and Jack was the first to respond and had the best pricing. He even took the time to explain what a "Star certified smog" meant when another shop said they weren't. Quick, stress-free, and great customer service. I was in the business of renewing my car registration and I had a couple of days to pay before the price increases (iykyk). I had been out the country for a bit so I honestly forgot. So as I pick up my registration mail, so I can log online and pay on the dmv website, I realize I needed a smog check. I was searching for a spot nearby that would get me in and out fairly quickly. I used the Yelp search engine and Jack was one of the first people to respond. His prices were also pretty affordable and he was flexible. I asked to come in on a Saturday which he agreed to but I later needed to come in on Friday instead. It wasn't an issue at all. I drove over during a late lunch break and I was met with warmness and a lot of humor. Jack was very friendly, personable and while he was helping another customer, he let me know I could wait in the office and he would be with me shortly. The service took maybe 5-7 minutes and I was out of there in 10-15mins. As Jack was handing me my paperwork, he mentioned that the smog certification was already on its way to the DMV. I have NEVER left a business so happy and anxious to come BACK. Jack at S&S Smog Check lives up to EVERY 5 star review. I called and he was so nice and was willing to work with my schedule. I was greeted with the sweetest smile as soon as I pulled up. The business is located on the corner of Saticoy and Haskell. Very easy to find. There's about 8 auto places. S&S is third one on the left when you enter the driveway off of Saticoy. My sixth star if I could add it was for the waiting room. So clean and air conditioned. Choice of comfy seating. I could have waited all day but Jack was so quick and efficient. I've gone to other smog check places and the seats are out in the open and it was always a wait. I actually was ready to get comfortable and relax and Jack was already done. Last year I took my car to my mechanic's guy. He charged me $80 plus! I made an appointment but I still had to wait an hour. That was the most I've ever paid and after reading his Yelp reviews everyone says he's a crook. If you're reading THIS Yelp review, Jack charges $60 AND if it's your first time you get a discount. I took a friend's car in for a smog so it could be sold. Found S&S smog check here on yelp, it wasn't the closest to me but they have great prices so I thought it was worth the extra 2 mile drive. Boy let me tell you! I do not regret it one bit! Jack is great! very nice gentleman, great costumer service, fast smog check and the DMV receives the info right away because I went to the DMV right after and I was able to get my sticker.
