We have a Nission Juke, 7 yr. old love the car. we get free oil changes for getting the car at nission. When we took it in about a week ago, they told us, we need a transmission flush and other things. Never heard of a flush for the transmission? So We took it to S&S OWEND BY Son Tao Great guy, I have known him for about 7 years, never need him to fix anything, untill today. We where nervos about the flush thing, So we took it to Son. He took it for a ride, and did a diagnostics check and found, We needed a P1740 or a Solenoid for the tranny, took it back to nission as we have a warranty. My grandson and I took a transmission to S&S for an estimate. Estimate started out at $1400. Then immediately went to $1100. Grandson told Son that he could not afford that and we will just take the transmission with us. Son said we could not have the transmission that day. I firmly believe that he delayed returning it to us so that he could completely and totally disassemble the transmission. We got the transmission back in bags. Not one piece was left intact. He also changed his estimate from $65 to $125. My previous experience with S&S had been good. After this I would never recommend S&S. read more

A lil bit pricey,my car still ran when I brought it in, making lil bit whining noise,, by the time it was all over, they replaced transmission with rebuilt trans. 4000$+, car really ran great after the work was done,,, couple months later my vehicle was leaking oil , around where trans and motor go together , very little,, but still enough to have to top off every couple weeks,,, leak was not there before service,,, can't say why it started, but it did, also will not say that it was because of the work done at this shop, no proof. Overall car ran well after work,, but now I have small leak,, this not a bad review, or to say anything bad, staff was nice, owner seems nice,, but this is just MY experience. Thanks read more

STAY AWAY!! I read the reviews here and decided i would bring my truck to S&S to get the transmission repaired. I spoke to Son on the phone and i setup to have my truck towed by AAA. My truck was still operating enough to drive on to the flatbed tow truck when they came to pick it up so i drove it on to the truck with no issues whatsoever. So when i arrived at the shop i was met by Son who came outside and greeted me, my first impression of him was that he was an honorable honest man an immigrant who came to America for the American dream. I suffer from ptsd after losing a family member in a violent way, which causes me extreme anxiety so i took my medication early that morning. I only say this because i feel it's relevant to how i was treated. He told me that he would have his worker pull the transmission and call me when it had been pulled so that it could be broken down in front of me. He had stated to me he would need the cost of labor to remove the transmission up front so i payed him 800$ (still owing him 400) and he proceeded to look over my truck with me and point out what may need repair. So now he informed me that it would be about 3000$ for the new transmission so now the price had risen by 1000$ i wasn't to happy about it but they had already pulled it and like i said he seemed like a man of integrity so i sucked it up. He then told me he would need all the money up front before installing the new transmission and it took me about 3 weeks to get all the cash. When i returned for my truck and he pulled it out for a test drive i could not believe the sound my truck was making!! I'm no dummy i know what a leaky exhaust manifold sounds like. I immediately brought that to his attention and he interrupted me not letting me speak (the guy knows how to play it). when i got in my truck i realized it was now misfiring and idling super rough he stated to me it had a misfire on #6 and that would cost me more money to get looked at. By this point I'm very pissed off because i know this guy messed with my truck as were driving down the street for the test drive the rear rotor is now squeaking like hell (I had replaced all rotors, calipers, and brake pads 1 month before and it was not making that noise when i brought it to him) so he tells me it might be the spark plugs. I left pissed and feeling ripped off as i'm driving home thinking about what my next step will be, a coolant hose rips spraying coolant everywhere (all the hoses had been replaced a month before) so i call a tow truck again to get me home. I replace the hose and still and realize i now have a overheating problem that's when i realized the butyl tape i had in my truck is now gone when i attempt to refill the coolant i notice i can not get the cap off and when i finally brake it off i realize the butyl is in the coolant box melted ans smeared and the cap had been visibly glued. By this point there's no doubt that he did this. I drain all the coolant and buy a new pump and radiator and i call him back pissed telling him he needs to fix all the shit hes' done to my truck or i will take him to court. he says bring it back and i will take care of you. When i get there having it towed AGAIN he checks for a manifold leak doesn't find one then he randomly finds a ripped spark plug wire so he replaces the wire, still misfiring and I'm still pissed i take it home feeling even more ripped off and the next day i replace the coil packs and the misfire stops. I also realize at that time that manifold bolt clamps are missing on both manifolds and my interstate battery has been switched with a super start battery. I call him back pissed telling him i'm going to take him to court and he tells me he wants to settle out of court and he will return 500$ to me and fix the manifold i reluctantly agree only because i had forgotten to take pictures and video of my truck before i brought it in. He meets me at a local restaurant probably afraid i would scare off his customers and denies doing anything to my truck. If he hadn't done shit he would have been pissed that i accused him of such dishonest actions. Son would not even look me in the eye!! This guy has the audacity to do something like this tells me this is not the first time he's gotten away with this. He's a sociopath and an actor!! Just look at the LRH business tech poster on the door of his office. He only asks about the history of your vehicle so he can figure out what he will mess with then charge you to fix it. He uses the psychology of LRH to break you down and then rip you off. He thought i was a stupid guy because i was on anxiety meds and he took advantage of my trust and ripped me off knowing my cancer stricken mother was paying half the bill. He's a terrible human being DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO HIM. I'm usually pretty good about reading people and their authenticity but i will say he fooled the shit outa me. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a mechanic. read more

Love this place! We went here after going to the Volkswagen dealership because they told us that we needed a new transmission. Son (the owner) looked at our car and told us that we didn't a new transmission and he could fix it for less then $300. Since then we have brought all our cars/trucks here! If u live in Amarillo and need a mechanic. Hit this place up. Superb customer service and an abundance of knowledge/experience on cars/trucks. Been told by multiple people that this place is where I need to go. So I gave him a call. He did not charge me to look at it. He literally took my transmission apart in front of me and showed the small part that broke in my transmission. He also recommended some parts that have been updated on my truck and showed me videos on how the updated parts would best suit me. When he saw me calling for an Uber he then gave me a ride home. Unfortunately we were stuck with a motorhome that decided not to run on our way through Amarillo. Luckily for us after making many phone calls we found S & S Transmissions (thinking it was a transmission issue). Once having the motorhome towed to S & S, Son put his mechanic right on the job, found the problem (which luckily was not the transmission), ordered the parts and had us on our way the very next morning. We appreciate the work his mechanic performed and the way in which we were treated and especially that S & S called us the following week to make sure all was good with the repairs. We would recommend S & S Transmission to anyone traveling through Amarillo. A breathe of fresh air to find an honest car repair location. read more
