Worst experience in my life. Delery from SW Fence from Millard gave us the worst customer service experience. It has been almost a year from the first day to finish the installation and she has not been honoring her word of finishing the installation. Her crew broke one of my sprinklers and we paid for the warranty. She have not finish the fence installation nor the replacement of the sprinkler. It is a long story of not showing up and failing to do her work and promises. If I could give zero stars I would. I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone to hire S&W fences. Once they have your money they don't care about finishing any job. Don't hire them. read more

We had our fence installed last summer and it has been a very good experience. With the recent wind storms, one of the panels in our fence blew off, though nothing appeared to be broken. It only required that the panels be put back into place of which I did not have the tools to do that. I called, along with a multitude of others, to have someone come out and repair the panel. I was told that the cost up-front would be $750.00, regardless of the magnitude of damage. Joel came out to assess the damage and had it fixed within minutes. He was very kind and wound up not charging me at all. That was great customer care! read more

TL;DR: S&W severed my internet during fence installation, will not pay for damages, and blamed the incident on an unmarked line. **** I'm just going to leave this here, you be the judge of who is right or wrong. Our neighbors were getting their fence installed by S&W. During the installation, the company's team severed my fiber internet line. I went out and talked to the installer and he confirmed that he hit something and that he is going to call it in. Later they pulled out the severed fiber cable from the ground (partially) to confirm. I work from home, so I obviously need the internet to perform my work duties. I called and emailed S&W and let them know that CenturyLink line has been cut by their team, Lindsey (operations manager) told me that "she feels that this is not their fault" because the line wasn't marked. I told her that at this time all I'm asking is for them to take care of an incoming Cox bill (Cox was able to activate an already installed service to my house), but she wouldn't budge. Absolutely do not go with this company! I hired them to replace a section of fence in my backyard. They didn't evenly space posts, the wood they used was terrible, and they refused to fix what they messed up. They only returned half of my money because they said half the work was done (they removed the old fence, and put up posts). I hired another company who did a beautiful job. Our neighbors put in a fence and this company does not care if they damage other peoples property to make a buck. They continued to put a fence in on top of a gas line and sprinklers and break them and will not make it right to have them fixed. Not a recommendable fence company to use. This company was contracted to do work, and damaged my sprinkler system. they responded by saying, sorry your line was in the wrong place. It is your lines fault for being undeground for 30+ years and getting in the way ouf our auger. They removed my fence damage my property and say its not our fault. I originally thought S&W's quote for my backyard, 6' privacy fence was a little steep, but it turned out to be the least expensive quote I received. I also liked the person, Mike, who gave me the quote. He knew what he was talking about and was able to come up with a solution to a weird situation that my yard presented. When it came to installing the fence, I got the impression that my persistent checking in made the difference in getting the things moving. I would check in regularly. They make the week's schedule each Wednesday, I was told, so that seemed to be a good time to call and see how things are going. The installation went very well. The crew kept the yard clean and everything about the fence seems fine. Posts look straight, there is little clearance underneath, etc. Our puppy hasn't been able to get out. "Worst mistake I've made as a homeowner" I've been a homeowner for 39 years. I haven't done one of these reviews before and I'm not here out of hostility. I just feel compelled to provide some info about S&W to anyone who is considering hiring them (which I can't recommend). They installed a backyard fence in Nov 2018, they required full payment, they left behind several uncorrected problems, and they've now broken off all communications with me. - They left a gap between my yard and my neighbor's, large enough to be a potential problem for the neighbor's small dog - They transected a drain tile during initial fence installation and assured me that it would be fixed when the ground was dry, but this was never done - Following removal of the previous wood fence, they left stumps from 7 of the posts that were sawed off, protruding inches above ground, enough to cause problems - For some unknown reason, the gates on both sides of the house were moved toward the front yard, putting 1 front yard underground sprinkler head in the back yard and 1 under the fence - The latches on the 2 gates do not work properly and require forceful use of 2 hands to open and close the gates In addition, the lower edge of the fence ended up about 3-4" above the ground, so I had to place fill dirt to close that space for nearly the entire perimeter. I trusted them enough to complete payment last fall - my mistake, because they've demonstrated that once they have the money, they have no reason to finish the work or even talk. I've reached out to them 3 times in the past couple of months to try to resolve this in a peaceful and cooperative way, but they've ignored me each time - so it seems that they are leaving me no choice to but to resolve this in court. If you make the mistake of hiring them, be sure that you don't make the mistake of paying them until you're absolutely sure the job is done to your satisfaction. read more

If you own big dogs and have overly parental and nosy neighbors like I do, a 6 ft security fence is essential. When we bought our house, there was no fence, so it was either fence the yard or teach the dogs to stay close to the house. We got bids from seriously 5 different companies, mostly because our backyard has a hill in it, and the first few estimates and ideas varied significantly. One guy wanted us to give up 5 ft of the back of our lot so he didn't have to angle the fence line. Fence guys obviously don't like challenges in their work. The guys from S&W listened to what we wanted and their bid was only $700 over what it was going to cost me to do it myself. Given that my wife would have left me had I tried to use my ninja homeowner skills to put up a fence on a hill, the $700 difference was a small price to pay for a professionally installed fence. And unlike a fence that I would have built, it's still standing 3 years later. read more

The fact she won't do anything is not the problem, Lindsey's attitude and poor customer service are the reason for 1 star. While I will agree with one of the previous reviews that I had to text them more than I thought I should have, Tasha was quick to reply. Although, we had a communication problem on part of the work, the whole fence was completed within 4 weeks. The men who put the fence up were professional. We had this company install a cedar fence. They do not work with any other wood, which we thought was a good sign. We thought they did a very good job for a fair price. I contacted S&W last month. They promptly sent an estimator out to my home and provided a very timely quote for a fence install. At the time of the install I was told with good weather it would be around 7 weeks. So about 4.5 weeks in I call the main office (where I took my money to pay) and they told me they could not possibly provide any details at all about the progress of my order. I was told to call my estimator. I did that, left a voicemail and sent an email. He declined to respond for an entire day and didn't make contact until I asked for a refund. At that time he informed me that he was away from his phone for the past 24 hours and we were 6 weeks out still. Mind you we've had prime fence building weather and no one bothered to inform us that in almost 5 weeks we haven't moved up the list at all. I felt this was a breach of contract due to the non existent communication and extreme delay so a refund seemed reasonable. He then informed me that I would be subject to a heavy penalty if I backed out. As a consumer I am concerned why the business needs not worry about the agreement but the client is completely vulnerable. This is the business equivalent of the movie Saw at this point, minus the tricycle but emphasis on the clown. They cannot answer basic questions and getting ahold of someone helpful is still a mystery, yet I'm subject to a $400 penalty based solely on their incompetence. I've never been less impressed with an establishment in my life. Their operational organization is cartoonish at best. read more

The owner is a complete douche bag and clearly only cares about getting your money. Once the contract is signed and deposite is down they take their sweet ass time doing the job. Regardless of when they said they would do it. Then when it is in and screwed up, they say they will send someone out to fix it, They never show, and when you all them they say we did come fix it. I refered them to my mother. It took at least 6 months and threatening to go to court to get everything fixed properly. The only thing that I can see that they are good at is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Got our backyard fenced VERY quickly upon moving in back in May and got it at a nice price compared to the competition. Went with the brown vinyl privacy and couldn't believe the quality and value. Recently laid some concrete and had to have the gate resized - my S&W rep sent my to an outside party who priced the job very reasonably again and completed the work professionally and quickly. Keep in mind there is a "fence season" here and proceed accordingly. read more

S & W Fencing guarantees their posts for life from wood rot. Of course you have to haul the broken fence post down there to get a new one. AND, they do nothing to help you replace the post in a case of rot. Our fence is three years old and we have lost seven posts to date due to wood rot. Thanks S & W for the free post. Too bad I had to kill a large area of grass and spend three days digging the old post out before putting the news ones in (seven times now). I would avoid them. Absolutely shocking in how S&W Fence wanted for installation of aluminum fencing. You people in Omaha are being gouged by this company. Do you know their prices are higher by 40% than back in my previous home in San Jose and our cost of living is 50% higher than Omaha??? Immoral and blatantly disrespectful and its google reviews show this stay away from them. Look for other competitors which we did which were 40% cheaper for the same product. I don't know how they can walk in our community knowing their abuse. Once the funny money real estate is over which should be within two years, they will be adjusting their prices. We have been dealing with them since April (2017) and now August (2017).They completely installed the wrong fence, put the wrong gates on, installed the wrong gate latches and it took repeated calls to even be acknowledged before corrective action would take place. Had a great experience with S & W fence over the past few weeks. We needed to add some fencing to enclose our yard after we moved in, 2/3 of the yard was already complete. I worked with Tasha, and she was timely and very fair, in fact I received a lower quote from another fence company, which I provided to Tasha and she beat their PRICE! The fence went in quickly and looks great. I also think we got some nice extras like key lock gates and everything looks great. S & W fence moved pretty quickly considering they got our fence posts installed faster then some other companies replied with a quote! read more

Would give ZERO stars if possible. We placed our order with S&W on August 8th for a 6ft privacy fence made of white plastic. They immediately came out, sprayed our gate entrances and completed the requested survey. On August 16th, they laid our posts around our property line and let us know that the fence would be finished after that. Our contract says approximately 10-12 business days. Key word being approximately. Our sales person, Tasha Aken, was slow on responses, and never had an answer to any questions that we emailed to her. She also refused to give us a phone number to contact her on. On the 10th business day, I called S&W to find out when our fence would be finished. The receptionist, Lisa, told me it would be another 3 weeks. They lost an employee, and said that I could call back myself to find out when my fence would be finished. I asked to speak with a manager and she refused. On the 12th day, I called again, and Lisa said again it would be another 3 weeks before finishing. Lisa's customer service was below par and again, refused to give any update as to when our fence would be finished. On September 22nd (more than a month after posts were laid) we were contacted that our fence would be finished. We noticed that they had laid 2 posts close to our sprinkler heads (which were flagged prior to posts being laid) and emailed Tasha about this. She told us, "I will let the crew know but if that are directly on the fence line they may need to be moved" insinuating we would have to endure this cost. On Friday, September 27th, our fence was finally finished. Luckily, our sprinkler system was spared as well. When I called to settle our remaining balance, I asked to speak with someone in charge as I wanted to find out about the discount they would give us for not meeting their contractual agreement and for the lack of communication, Lisa refused to put me through to anyone in charge and would not change the bill. She got approval for a fuel charge credit of $30. Whoopie. Overall, we spent over $8,000 with this company and received the WORST customer service I have ever experienced through a company. The reviews are all true, these people are terrible to work with, and I will never recommend them to anyone in our neighborhood, which is a brand new development. This company is run by people that care about making the sale, and could care less about the customer experience. If you've made it this far, I hope you and your families will steer clear of this terrible business. read more

I guess this company is doing very well, they don't even want my business. If you call them to set up an apt. for an estimate they will not. They will instead offer to give your information to a salesmen who will be in contact with you. If you ask for them to contact you by phone they will not. They will, however mail you an estimate a couple weeks later. The estimate had the name and phone number of the salesmen (in this case, Tanya) so you can try to call them. However, they will not answer but you can leave a message and hope they will call back. But don't hold your breath, because they never will. All I wanted to do was hand over my money to this company but from my experience attempting to work with them I can only assume they don't want it. Good luck. read more

Working with this company has been the most frustrating three months of my life! We chose them as we liked the look of the neighbor's fence that they put up. Communication is definitely not their strong point though. We worked with Gary, who handles the Carter Lake area. Despite verbally giving the go-ahead so they could arrange a survey and marking they waited until the paper contract was received and they were paid the half up front and then did nothing until my husband called three weeks later to see when things would be done, a full month after the contract was signed. They did not pull the required permits as they stated they would, forcing my husband to take off work to do the work they were contracted to do. Three weeks after they put in poles that were not to code because they did not pull permits and nearly two weeks after revision to poles we finally had panels and gates installed. I'm wondering how long it will take them to come lower the panels to make it a functional fence? Despite the contract stating one inch above grade, there are areas an adult human could slip under. I would have appreciated some sense of ownership in the company to compel either Gary or his boss Steve to call if plans changed or if anyone knew when I called when things were scheduled. read more

Their estimator is really good. Explained everything in detail and how the whole process would work. Everything he did was professional and straight forward. Set the posts in one day and it was uneventful. Sad to say that was the last of the professionalism. They were supposed to be out the next week to put up the panels and gates. It took 4 weeks to get them back out to finish the installation. I called on several occasions and got the run around each time. Called to talk to the head guy and he told me "it's not cost effective for me to send a crew out to your area unless I have several jobs in the area so you'll just have to wait until we are back in your area." He could care less about a schedule or doing what they were supposed to do. Very unprofessional and rude. They may be a little cheaper but you get what you pay for in the end. They work on high volume which equals very low professionalism and their attitude is horrible towards the customer. It's worth the little extra money to go with professional fence installers instead of these guys. BEWARE and stay away!!! read more
