We worked with S&W kitchens to remodel our kitchen. Luckily it was taking them WAY longer than they said it should because then the hurricane hit. We then contracted with them to fix the flood damage. The project went so badly that we told them not to do the bathroom. We just wanted them out of our house. They take on WAY too many projects and then don't have the subs to do the work. I thought it was because of the flood but the subs we spoke to said they ALWAYS do that. We live on the beach but most of the subs live on the east side of Tampa. Therefore they told us they couldn't be here before 10am. Then they left at 3. I suppose they didn't want to hit rush hour. The subs took no pride in their work. I'm sure if they were doing the same thing to their house it would be done right. The designer that we worked with "Joanne" said she had been designing kitchens for years but she actually had no idea how to do it. The appliance and cabinet doors slam into each other and can't be open at the same time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had asked to have certain things done and when it was installed we asked why it wasn't to our specifications she said well that is standard.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She lengthened the island 18" on her own then when it was being installed she said yes she changed it but it was on the plans.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Is the homeowner supposed to go around reading updated plans? When we complained to her after installation of all these things she never even said "I'm sorry." The floors in the kitchen were not leveled before putting the lament down so there are soft spots. I'm told that will shorten the life of the flooring. Because of all of this, instead of being happy and excited with the kitchen and the rest of the house the joy was taken out of it because of all the problems. The design process was great - Larissa is very talented I was so impressed with her design, as we had to completely rework my existing kitchen layout. She was very patient as we worked through budget and nailing down details. Once the reno started, I got to work with superintendents Davin and Tim, who were a pleasure as well. Always checking on things and keeping me updated. We're really happy with our new kitchen. Even after completion, Larissa promptly assists us with warranty calls, etc. to ensure we are happy and taken care of. She really does it all. She even applied the limestone paint on my hood! Final We had a great design experience - Alfred Huertas worked with us to get the vision for our Kitchen and 2 Bath remodel converted to an open design and we are satisfied with the final result. Biggest disappointment was the proficiency of the subcontractors and the length of time it took (over 18 months). We had a large tile job and the quality of install was below DIY. Quality issues we found in the original install took multiple visits by the punch tech to address. The quality of materials and appliances was good - very satisfied. Alfred was instrumental in getting our stalled project moving again by being a vocal advocate for us with S&W leadership. Since we were not living in the home during the remodel, it felt like the job suffered a lack of priority at S&W. Be a squeaky wheel. If you choose S&W - stay involved with the choice of subcontractors and scheduling. 'First available' yielded subpar results. read more

My wife and I purchased a 1987 home with a horrible floor plan and a kitchen that would require a complete tear-out. The kitchen walls were angled with jogs, drop ceiling and loose floor tiles. We knew that walls had to be removed making the lanai part of the main living area. After much research, we contacted S&W Kitchens of Tampa and met with Lacie Rice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lacie was a delight to work with. She was knowledgeable about the process and very attentive to our needs[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We had a kitchen remodel in South Tampa and was very dissatisfied with this company. The cabinets, although wood, are of very poor quality. We provided plans of the house and they did not look at the plans, so we ended up having to pay over $10K extra for a mistake they made. Every single inspection failed and often more than one time (this of course contributed to the delays). The project was to take approx 4- 5 months and it took 9 months to complete (and it was not because of lack of materials or covid). Workers would come maybe once or twice a week. I guess they had a lot of jobs. Most workers tried to do their best and the manager did return my calls and made attempts to push the project forward (still it was 4 months late). I tried to contact the owners of the company but they did not care to resolve the issues. The sale pitch is very good. They take care of everything, you just need to pay and they have a book with all the details of the project. Obviously, none of the workers ever looked at the book (for example, the plumber did not install the pipes correctly for the sink so they had to open the outside block/stucco wall to correct the problem). I work from home, so I was always present when the city inspectors came (usually the supervisor was absent, but I always tried to call him to at least have the inspector explain the problems over the phone). I do not like to do bad reviews but I appreciate honest warnings of reviewers. Hope this is helpful when you consider the services of this company. read more

These people are awful. They took my elderly parents money (about 25k) for a new kitchen and lied saying the cabinets they wanted were on back order. Flash forward after a year of excuses it came to light that nobody actually ordered the cabinets and they were given the option to purchase more expensive cabinets they didn't want as the solution. So naturally after having a large amount of money put in and tied up for a year a refund was requested and the company refused unless my parents agree not to talk about their negative experience. We were interested in replacing our kitchen cabinets. We went to the south Tampa office and spoke with Aaron. We then made an appointment for him to come to our home and take measurements so that we could get a quote. A few days later I called him asking about the quote and he said they did not email quotes, but he would share everything when we met at the Showroom again. I specifically told him that we had a budget of $15,000 and did not want to waste our time or his if that was not possible. He said he would crunch some numbers and see us on our appointment day. On the day of our appointment he showed us a quote of $47,000. $47,000, MINIMUM. There was absolutely no need to have us drive an hour to quote us 3 times our budget. It's OK if a company works with larger budgets than ours, just be clear about it and don't waste our time. read more

We began working with S & W Kitchen's in April, 2022 planning our kitchen renovation. We are currently starting the 2cd week of this renovation. To date, all of the staff we have worked with have been professional, responsive and very skilled at their respective jobs. Gina Cerimele, an S & W designer, has been with us from the beginning. She has an amazing attention to detail, amazing design skills, incorporated all of our wishes into the design plans, meticulously organized, stayed on top of and communicated regularly about the process. Once all the products were purchased and received the renovation of our new kitchen was scheduled to begin. 2 weeks prior to our start date Gina brought our Project Superintendent, Daniel Neris to our home to view the space and review the steps of the renovation plans. Both Gina and Daniel, were very thorough and detailed about the coming process and set up a group text to keep us all informed and on the same page. Our kitchen renovation began 12/5/22. I can't say enough about Gina and Daniel's leadership and strong project management skills. They have been either at the job site or in communication via phone or text daily. The crew that Daniel assigned to our project, as well as all the trades, have exceeded our expectations. Jamie and his team are highly skilled, extremely hard-working, on- time, very personable and extremely neat and respectful of our home. The entire renovation project continued as it began...with a highly skilled, accountable and personable construction crew and trades; strong leadership/oversight from the Project Superintendent (Daniel Neris) and Designer (Gina Cerimele); excellent communication and an organized, structured and highly detailed construction plan. With all the pre- construction planning that went into this project, we only had 1 unforeseen electrical change order with a minimal cost. Every aspect of the project had been well thought out and accounted for. When construction issues did occur the construction team already had a solution before, we even were even aware there was an issue. Being able to trust that the team was on top of and able to effectively problem-solve any issues certainly reduced the stress and anxiety of our renovation project and was greatly appreciated. S & W Kitchens and all of contracted trades demonstrated highly effective communication patterns which furthered the productivity and high quality of our kitchen renovation project. We worked with S&W to renovate a kitchen, powder bathroom, hall bathroom and completely create a bathroom. It was a huge, huge process. We have a 1930s colonial and we were looking for someone that could create rooms that would fit in the vibe of this home, but be very functional and durable for our young family. We followed Larissa on Instagram and contacted her - she met with us quickly and was bubbling over with ideas for our project. I'll start w/ her and her team... Larissa is talented, organized, incredibly responsive and detail-oriented. From the initial meeting, you'll be charmed by her - she's funny and full of amazing ideas. She has a knack for creating spaces that are gorgeous and functional. She understands how a family actually lives in a home and helped guide my husband and I in selecting layouts, fixtures, and products that would support our needs. We were debating a butcher block island top and she told us a VERY relevant story of when her son was small and used to stab a counter with his fork. I watched my 2 year old stab my just installed quartz island top last week and thought - whew. That could have been a nightmare. She absolutely understands the needs of her clients and makes a gorgeous space that fits. Larissa is also so, so patient. During the reno process, we obviously had to make many decisions about colors, fixtures, cabinetry, etc. As mentioned above, Larissa (and her assistant Alex) are wonderful at preselecting a couple of options because they understand their clients. This gives you a choice when it's time to pick these things without creating too much noise - but they have no problem going back to the drawing board time and time again to patiently figure out what works best in your home within your vision if the choices they've given aren't what you love. They also were patient with us when we couldn't quite find the right paint color in our newly designed master bathroom - which HAD already been painted. We simply didn't like the color once it was on the wall. Larissa and Alex both came over with samples, walked through options and helped us to find the right color. And now... we love it. In addition to Larissas vision/ talent... she selects people to work with her that are fantastic. As mentioned a few times, her assistant, Alex, is wonderful. He's organized and calm. He's reliable with a cool aesthetic. She works with an amazingly talented cabinet installer, Joe. If you're lucky enough to have him on your project, it's going to be perfect. We had a very difficult project because we selected inset cabinets and have an old home, so the floors are uneven. The walls are uneven and the ceiling? It's uneven. But with inset, there is zero room for error or the cabinet will not fit correctly. Joe's job was done flawlessly - absolute perfection. Plus he is the tidiest human I've ever met, which was SO appreciated when completing a huge home renovation. Her tile team is fabulous and flawless, her appliance installers get the job done right. Related to the construction side of S&W... this is always going to be a little tricker b/c to my knowledge NO ONE loves living in construction, which is exactly what we did (with a toddler). However, hindsight being 20/20, I will say that the teams selected by S&W did quality work. My favorite on the construction side was Carlos - his team did a wonderful job of demo and framing. They even caught issues that would be a problem down the line and corrected these. Truthfully there were (many) times that I felt that we needed more communication, more results. But, overall, our end product is superb. Anything that we found to be less than, they'd work to get fixed. Even after our project wrapped, Mike (our PM by the end) dispatched relevant teams to correct any small issues that cropped up. I'd say a huge benefit is that S&W will stick to their word, they will show up, they will answer their phones (even after the project is wrapped). Which I think is pretty unique and shows a level of quality that I would recommend. read more

BAIT AND SWITCH - AVOID S&W! More than two months ago, with some trepidation, I agreed to a $750 retainer. HUGE mistake. At the time of payment, Jim H agreed to provide 6 cabinet samples for my kitchen remodel and custom TV wall. In total, likely a $75k job. Prior to the deposit, Jim was very responsive and accommodating. Since the deposit, EVERY inquiry I made had to be followed up w another email or text before I received a response. And typically, the response would be vague and not even answer the question. After Jim no-showed for our follow up appt to share the samples (appt was for 530, Jim texted me after 6 to say "on my way)." When Jim showed up to our rescheduled appt, he brought 2 - not 6 samples. Supposedly, the samples I requested (and Jim agreed to provide) weren't available. Remember, this is two months after my deposit and multiple status inquiries. And at this point, I still didn't even have a bid/quote - yet, I was out $750. He did however bring a quote for the TV wall. It was an outrageously high amount. I informed Jim the bud was too high and I would likely pass. Another week passes and finally Jim sent a bid for the kitchen. The price seemed fair but although I was told I would receive renderings and a through understanding of what the bid would include, I didn't get anything close. How can one approve a job of this spend without even knowing what cabinet product would be used, a sketch, or even a napkin with scribbled design? The bid literally had one generic line item, along with a price. Who agrees to spend this kind of money with so little information? Also, Jim was happy to provide a new quote for the tv wall - the exact same dollar amount. As if we never even discussed. At this point, it was clear I had been given the bait and switch. I respectfully asked for a refund agreed to part ways. Three weeks later and hollow emails from Jim, still no refund. He's said "meeting with the owner," "working on it," etc etc. yet no refund. I made one last inquiry and received a similar "non answer". Trust the other negative reviews you see for the this company. read more

At the start of 2021 it was inevitable that our kitchen needed to be completely renovated as well as redesigned. After researching several different companies, we decided to work with S&W Kitchens. They had excellent reviews and have been established here for quite some time. As with any major project we expected our share of glitches here and there, especially with problems due to prolonged deliveries and workers becoming ill due to COVID. Working with Rosemarie Szedula, our designer, made this project seem effortless and smooth. She was reliable, honest, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went as expected and made sure that we had exactly what we wanted and needed. Anytime I reached out to her she responded quickly and took care of the issue. The kitchen turned out better than I expected, and the added storage space and peninsular are wonderful. The kitchen was completed on-time and the quality of the workmanship as well as the actual cabinetry, granite and tile was excellent. We are both very happy with our choice. Working with S and W Kitchens has been the worst experience I've had with a service company. They care absolutely nothing about their customers. Their sub-contractors are incompetent and careless. My home was left unlocked on at least five occasions. Rooms were painted the wrong colors. Hardwood floors were damaged and had to be ripped out and replaced. The wrong tile was installed, twice. Kitchen lights cut-off after twenty minutes of use. Their workers used a custom media cabinet as a work bench, ruining the top. The project was supposed to be finished in four months, and its now gone over eight. read more

We are very satisfied with the remodeling of our master bathroom. The timeline we were given was met exactly. Any concerns that we had during the process were addressed immediately. Communication with the superintendent was frequent and a key piece in our satisfaction. Though the choice of materials was ours, our designer facilitated the process, made some worthwhile suggestions and was a joy to work with. My husband and I found S&W Kitchens on a Google search. We had 2 bad experiences in the past with remodeling projects and were very cautious about choosing the right company. Whitney Ruthledge with S&W Kitchens contacted us and from our first meeting, we knew we had made the right choice. We worked with Whitney for several months planning the remodeling of 3 bathrooms. After the first meeting she had preliminary drawings and great suggestions for tile, cabinets, hardware, etc. She is incredibly talented and has a real gift for design and color. We absolutely loved the plans she did for the bathrooms. She had a range of product suggestions and did an excellent job working within our budget. We started construction in October 2018 and Mike Fray was our Construction Manager. Mike did an excellent job keeping us informed of the process and updated us immediately with any changes. Both Whitney and Mike were at our house frequently checking on the progress and they were both always easy to reach if anything came up and we had questions. All the contractors worked under Mikes supervision and we did not have any problems at all. The bathrooms were finished within the time frame they planned and we are absolutely thrilled with the work. We were so happy with S&W Kitchens and Whitney and Mike, that even before the other bathrooms were finished, we began working with Whitney on remodeling the master bathroom, as long as we had Whitney and Mike back on the project! We had a little trouble getting the permits for the master bathroom and Alison Hamilton at S&W Kitchens worked with us the get the situation resolved. Alison was as easy to work with as Whitney and Mike and we were so impressed with her diligence and hard work.
