This adorable, homey little restaurant blew me away with their food and decor. It had an authentic…read morefeel to it and the menu was full of different wines, beers, entrees and desserts from different regions. We started with the Potato Vareniki which are Ukrainian homemade pierogis, filled with potato & dill then topped with caramelized onions. Very similar to Chinese dumplings in texture. Served with sour cream and trust me it makes a difference to eat it with the condiment. I ordered the Duck At Dusk and it was absolutely delightful. Cooked medium rare, the pan-seared duck breast was tender, juicy and full of flavor. The pieces were small but the skin to fat to lean meat ratio was great. The presentation was beautiful with the pearl onions and tri-color carrots on top of mango-apricot gel, cilantro oil, date jus. My husband ordered the Sample Platter which includes sample-sized Beef Stroganoff (sirloin tip steak, onions and white mushrooms, served over egg noodles), Lamb Plov (jasmine rice, Australian lamb, carrots, onion, barberries, cumin), Chicken Kyiv (breaded boneless chicken breast, filled with mozzarella cheese, butter and herbs) & Golubtzy (cabbage leaves wrapped around ground beef and rice filling). Our favorite was the Golubtzy for the unique flavors and the nice consistency of the wraps. The mashed potatoes in the center was also fluffy and delicious. The parking can be a bit tricky but there's extra parking in the back. The service is friendly and informative but you may have to flag them down to place orders and get your check. Great place for a date night or group meal to share the dishes.

My first visit was with an event and not a normal set up, but wasn't impressed during that visit...and it really set the tone for the next visit.. I really didn't want to come back. But I did, it deserves a second chance, but unfortunately it fell short yet again. The service was friendly enough, but not great. When I ordered an item off the menu, they told me it wasn't available. So I then needed another minute to decide what I wanted. When the server returned I ordered another item and again, they didn't have it. But then proceeded to tell me all the items that were not available that evening. WHY wouldn't he have said when the first item wasn't available, all the other items that weren't available. I really wanted some vegetables....so when I couldn't have really much of anything but the dumplings, I asked if I could have some of the vegetables from the entrees that were all unavailable with the dumplings but he said he could not do that. I think the language barrier created some issues in this case. They couldn't accommodate much of anything. That's too bad. I won't be back to this location.

This day we stopped for dinner and we ordered Dill Pickle Soup($7.99), Cold Cut Platter for 2 ($11.99) which had Kabanoski Sausage, forest sausage, country sausage, wedding sausage, bread and pickle, and 12 Mix Pierogi Plate ($19.99) which had 3 potato and cheddar, 3 potato and farmers cheese, 3 kraut and mushroom and 3 pork. The food is really really good. We were delightfully surprised at how tasty the Dill Pickle soup is. The Pierogis we ordered pan sautéed and they were all very tasty. The Cold Cuts were all really nice too. The decor is fairly dark in black and dark red with alligator print table and booth coverings. There is also a store inside selling a decent selection of candies, canned goods, sausages and frozen pierogi to take home. Service is friendly and as attentive as we wanted. This is a highly recommended place to experience. We can't wait to return on a future trip to the area.

I rarely leave reviews, but after my experience at Sarah's Mediterranean Cafe, I feel like people…read moredeserve an honest heads-up before spending their money here. Let me start by saying that the food itself is actually good. The flavors are solid and you can tell the recipes are authentic Mediterranean dishes. If this review were based purely on the food, it would probably be decent. Unfortunately, a restaurant experience is not just about what ends up on the plate it's about service, value, and how customers are treated. That's where this place completely falls apart. First off, the service was extremely inattentive. From the moment we sat down, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. The waitresses seemed disinterested, barely checked on the table, and when we tried to ask questions about the menu or request anything simple, the attitude we got back was surprisingly rude and dismissive. It felt like they wanted us to order quickly, eat, and leave without asking for anything outside of the most basic transaction. One thing that really stood out was their refusal to substitute sides. At most restaurants, asking for a simple side swap is a completely normal request. Here, they flat-out refused with zero flexibility or willingness to accommodate. It came off as unnecessarily rigid and frankly pretty unfriendly. When customers are paying premium prices, a little accommodation should not be too much to ask. And speaking of mistakes they forgot my fries entirely. My meal arrived incomplete, and I had to point it out. Even then, it didn't feel like it was taken very seriously. No apology that felt genuine, no urgency to fix it, just a very casual reaction as if forgetting part of a meal was no big deal. When you're charging the prices they do, attention to detail should be the bare minimum. That brings me to the pricing, which honestly feels way too high for what you get. The food is good, but not nearly good enough to justify the price point when the service experience is this poor. There are plenty of Mediterranean restaurants where you can get equally good if not better food while actually being treated like a valued customer. Overall, the biggest takeaway from my visit is that good food alone doesn't make up for bad service. Restaurants succeed when they combine great meals with hospitality and basic respect for their customers. Unfortunately, that balance was completely missing here. Between the inattentive staff, the rude attitude toward simple requests, forgotten items like my fries, and the high prices, the experience left a pretty bad impression. I really wanted to like this place, but the service made it hard to justify coming back. There are too many good Mediterranean spots out there to spend money somewhere that treats customers like an afterthought.
