I've been wanting to try Babushka's for a while, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. The service was great, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The drinks were delicious--unique, well-balanced, and thoughtfully crafted. I especially loved the Russian dumplings dipped in sour cream, and the beef stroganoff was fantastic. I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

I love this place! Fourth visit in a year. Have only been for lunch and late afternoon but it's always great. Warm and professional service, yummy food, always get the horseradish vodka. All the dumplings are delicious. Also had the chicken mousse on rye, which is like a piped pate with chutney - a work of art and so delicious. We also had the bread bowl with cheese and an egg yolk- a house specialty. Don't miss that!

Babushka's was such a fun and unique find for me in Tampa. The cozy atmosphere and Eastern European cuisine make for an experience that feels a little different from the usual. The sampler platter was a great way to try a little bit of everything, and if you love a good charcuterie board, the assortment of Eastern European meats and accompaniments is absolutely worth ordering. Everything paired beautifully with the red wine flight, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. I personally love this place and was excited to introduce them to it. The parking lot is small but they offer additional parking in the rear. We made a reservation for 3 on OpenTable and we were seated immediately at a cozy table. Our server was fantastic! We started off sharing the Feather and Rye, the Siberian Pelmeni, and the Mushroom Bliny. The Feather and Rye was a creamy chicken pate served on top of thinly sliced rye bread and topped with an apple chutney and crispy onions. The Siberian Pelmeni is traditional Russian dumplings filled with pork and beef. It is served with a side of sour cream. The Mushroom Bliny is served as 3 traditional thin pancakes filled with mushroom and mozzarella cheese and a spinach rémoulade. All 3 appetizers were great and unique. I think they all paired well together. My favorite might be the Feather and Rye if I had to pick! My mom and I shared the Chicken Kyiv and my dad ordered the Beef Stroganoff. I'm not personally a fan of Beef Stroganoff but my dad enjoyed it. The Chicken Kyiv was supposed to be filled with butter, cheese, and herbs. I did not see the cheese or herbs. I only saw a lot of butter. It is served with mashed potatoes and a boyar sauce. For dessert we shared the Honey Cake and the Napoleon. My mom loved the Honey Cake and my dad and I enjoyed the Napoleon. Overall we had a great time and the food was fantastic!

Super cute decor inside with plenty of seating options. There are 5 parking spots including handicapped on the paved part of their lot and an additional amount in the gated area accessible from Platt or S blvd. The service was fantastic from the host, to the server to the food runners. I ordered the Samson Original which they were out of, and instead got Kozel which was fantastic. My friends got the St. Pete Mule which you can swap out for any of their vodka flavors how ever the bartender says it's the best the way it comes! For food, my friends got the Borscht, Serbian Pelmeni and the Khinkali. They had nothing but raving reviews. I ordered the Veggie Grill which came with mostly unseasoned vegetables but delicious potatos. I will be quick to return to explore more of their flavored vodkas and some of their yummy sounding desserts.

We came for a birthday and this place was amazing! The service was fantastic just as the food. Chicken Kyiv melted in your mouth, the board had numerous meats with extra fixings and worth the cost. Olivier salad is exactly how my family would make it so hats off! Best place to eat if you're looking for something different.

Went for a Saturday lunch. The food here was AMAZING from appetizer to dessert. Cultural and distinctive decor. Wheelchair accessible. There wasn't loud music around the time I went. And not super busy at all. Service was informative and timely. We loved this place ! FREE PARKING AS WELL !

Solid experience overall at Babushka's Hyde Park, but a mixed bag for me. The food was the highlight--the dumplings (pelmeni) were absolutely incredible, and the sample platter we split was interesting, flavorful, and the perfect portion size for two. Really unique Eastern European dishes that stood out. The inside decor is super cute and cozy with a cool dacha vibe, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout. The place was packed, which says something about its popularity. That said, the location feels a bit odd, and we ended up sitting outside since it was so busy--the outdoor dining area isn't my favorite (not as charming as inside), though it was still pleasant enough. Prices also felt a little high given the setting and location. Worth trying for the food alone, especially if you're into authentic Russian/Ukrainian flavors!

Food comes out fast and hot. It's all delicious. Service is great and it comes with the ambiance. Ambiance is very calm and peaceful. Not too loud and just the right amount of people at all times. Great spot. Drinks are a little pricey but drinks would be better if just a tad more vodka.

Came a few weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with this cuisine! Our server gave us great recommendations and I couldn't pick a favorite out of any of them. I loved how authentic the food and the atmosphere was, you could tell they put a lot of love and care into this place. Need to go back asap

Cozy, inviting, and full of authentic Eastern European flavors! The Siberian Pelmeni and Adjaruli Khachapuri are must-tries--comfort food at its best. Really enjoyed the Beef Stroganoff and Lamb Shashlik. Everything I ordered was SO good. The vibe is warm and home. Great for a casual dinner or a date night! What I ordered: - ADJARULI KHACHAPURI - SAMSA - SIBERIAN PELMENI - BEEF STROGANOFF - LAMB SHASHLIK - BIRD'S MILK DESSERT

We started with the Million Dollar Deviled Eggs, topped with crispy oysters, bacon jam and caviar. They were creative and packed with flavor. The caviar came through a little stronger than we would have preferred, but everything worked surprisingly well together. Bill put them around 3.5-4 out of 5, while Deb gave them a 3. The wine was one of the best parts of the meal. I had the Ken Wright Cellars Pinot Noir and loved it--fruity with a peppery edge in a really good way. Easy 4.5/5. Deb went with the Drylands Sauvignon Blanc and gave it a solid 4/5. Both wines paired nicely with the deviled eggs. For lunch, we tried the blackened grouper sandwich. The fish and smoky Old Bay rémoulade were very flavorful, and the sandwich itself earned a 4/5 for taste. The problem was the $34 price tag. It simply felt too small for that price, so we'd put the value closer to a 3. Dessert turned things around again. The mango sorbetto was cold, bright and refreshing, and the accompanying sugar cookies added a surprisingly nice contrast. At $7, it felt like a much better value. 4/5. Overall, Oak & Ola delivered some very good flavors and an excellent wine experience. We'd return, but we'd probably be a little more selective about the higher-priced entrées.

For example, they also offer steaks that appear to be a much higher quality (and price point). There is a decent selection of German beers, loads of wine, and a full bar. The mushroom risotto was very good, the heirloom tomato salad was a little on the bland side. My mom in law claimed it was one of the best pork schnitzels she has had. They are relatively young (10 months), and working on fully opening, so one of the rooms and bathrooms were blocked off, but I was told that part would be opened soon.

The Prix Fixe experience begins at $58 per person (there are additional add-ons) for dine-in only. 1. Waterzooi Soup (3/5; Red Farms chicken | caramelized leeks | carrots | local cream | focaccia toast | parsley emulsion | carrot purée): This is a Belgian soup. The serving size of the soup in the prix fixe was relatively small. The presentation was nice, and the chicken soup was a nice winter dish. The chicken broth was savory but at room temperature. 2. Autumn Salad (2/5; mixed artisanal greens | brûléed bucheron cheese | radicchio | toasted French walnuts | red grapes | fig balsamic vinaigrette): I felt like something was lacking from this seasonal autumn salad. It's OK for me, as I mostly ate the bucheron cheese with the grapes and walnuts. 3. Filet Mignon (4/5; seared | maître d'hôtel butter | red wine jus | truffle potato purée | asparagus (additions: sauce Choron, seared foie gras, Maine lobster tail, local exotic Petrichor mushrooms): It was cooked perfectly. First, the setting is very nice, with Riedel glassware and communal tables...you can converse quite easily with the people around you. During the dinner, the chef describes each course as it comes out. The somelier then briefly introduces the wine that has been matched with it. Ostensibly, the price of the dinner is for the wine, since the food is all inclusive on this ship. There was no shortage of top ups if you really liked one in particular by the end. Some pairings worked, while by consensus a few did not. Personally, I would have liked there to have been more explanation about the process that was used to pair the wines and dishes, and more history or info to tell us about the wine, it's region of origin, etc.. That's not to say the the evening wasn't lively (it's bound to be with so much wine and communal tables!) With regards to the food, it was clear that the chefs spent a lot of effort carefully preparing the dishes (e.g. from scratch mille feuille), and these were dishes/presentations you don't typically get at the other a la carte venues on board. All the same, I would not say that the food stood out... which is as much of a testament go the overall cuisine quality on board as it is a knock on La Reserve. While the serving sizes were moderate, every one was stuffed by the time dessert rolled around, as the dishes were stealthily rich. In summary, I would say this was a very pleasant experience for variety's sake (or if you don't really know much about wine already), but not one I'm dying to shell out for again based on the pairing presentation or relative quality of the cuisine.

Next came the Beef Stroganoff, and this is where I should defer to the other reviews that speak very highly of the authenticity of the dishes at Garden of Joy. I also tried the Georgian Eggplant Roulett which surprised me when it came out cold, as I've always had eggplant in warm dishes in the past, but I just loved the fresh, flavorful experience of this dish. What a unique and tasty dish! We were the only ones in the restaurant when we dined, as we went at an off hour of the day, with another table joining later. Thus, the service was top-tier and extremely attentive, and I found everyone we encountered to be friendly and helpful. Overall, this was a great experience and I will 100% be back again.
