This is a very cool authentic Russian market with smoked fish, meats, sausage, caviar, honey, jams, andsome decorative items. It's a little piece of Mother Russia in the Tampa Bay area. Tucked into a strip mall plaza on Waters this a very fun place to check out. the NC Shoes, purses, watches and sunglasses place in the same plaza.is also fun for dressing up in stylish duds in the cheap. Walk the runway.. And then enjoy some beluga

This great shop has been delivering Central European/Russian goods here in Tampa for 17 years. My mom is Central European and lots of the items in this shop are familiar to me.Finding this place made me smile as I walked in and found more than expected. The deli counter is full of smoked fish, meats, cheeses and caviar.I bought the veal bologna and the Russian cervelet sausage.Tried the summer sausage and some of the most delicious fresh baked honey cake. The meats are fresh and sliced perfectly thin.Loaves of fresh Russian black bread are in the back of the store. This cake is 15 thin layers of honey cake with fresh butter cream between the layers coated in a dark chocolate ganache. The shop also carries beer and wines from Russia, along with tee shirts with Putin's picture on them, lots of Russian dolls and religious pictures. Honey and strawberry jam from Russia is on the shelves as well. Both are very tasty. All the items are priced well and easy to see on the shelves. The store is located in a Plaza on Waters Ave with plenty of parking. Lots of herbs and European medicine can also be found at this wonderful shop.

I wandered in here finding a parking space in front of it going to lunch at Bay Leaves in the same plaza, and what a find! What an adventure in food I am not familiar with. I was like a kid in a candy store. The owner bakes fresh rye bread, and I was lucky to get a loaf, still very warm, almost hot, out of the oven, a 2.2lb loaf for $6.89, and it's delicious! I asked him to pick out a hard salami for me in one of the two meat cases, and he sliced up 'Jewish' salami for me, and the best hard salami I have ever had, all beef, packed with flavor, and the perfect dryness. Other things I picked up were a container of sheep's cheese in brine, which I've never had, and haven't tried yet, head cheese, lamb dumplings, and a sugar wafer type dessert. What an exciting find for me. It's doubles the pleasure when going out, like going to eat at China Yuan and then to the bakery at the end of the plaza! I spotted an Indian grocery as we were pulling out, so that might make it a trifecta next time!

Ikura! Just salted enough to eat by itself.

It had an authentic…read morefeel to it and the menu was full of different wines, beers, entrees and desserts from different regions. We started with the Potato Vareniki which are Ukrainian homemade pierogis, filled with potato & dill then topped with caramelized onions. Very similar to Chinese dumplings in texture. Served with sour cream and trust me it makes a difference to eat it with the condiment. I ordered the Duck At Dusk and it was absolutely delightful. Cooked medium rare, the pan-seared duck breast was tender, juicy and full of flavor. The pieces were small but the skin to fat to lean meat ratio was great. The presentation was beautiful with the pearl onions and tri-color carrots on top of mango-apricot gel, cilantro oil, date jus. My husband ordered the Sample Platter which includes sample-sized Beef Stroganoff (sirloin tip steak, onions and white mushrooms, served over egg noodles), Lamb Plov (jasmine rice, Australian lamb, carrots, onion, barberries, cumin), Chicken Kyiv (breaded boneless chicken breast, filled with mozzarella cheese, butter and herbs) & Golubtzy (cabbage leaves wrapped around ground beef and rice filling). Our favorite was the Golubtzy for the unique flavors and the nice consistency of the wraps. The mashed potatoes in the center was also fluffy and delicious. The parking can be a bit tricky but there's extra parking in the back. The service is friendly and informative but you may have to flag them down to place orders and get your check. Great place for a date night or group meal to share the dishes.

My first visit was with an event and not a normal set up, but wasn't impressed during that visit...and it really set the tone for the next visit.. I really didn't want to come back. But I did, it deserves a second chance, but unfortunately it fell short yet again. The service was friendly enough, but not great. When I ordered an item off the menu, they told me it wasn't available. So I then needed another minute to decide what I wanted. When the server returned I ordered another item and again, they didn't have it. But then proceeded to tell me all the items that were not available that evening. WHY wouldn't he have said when the first item wasn't available, all the other items that weren't available. I really wanted some vegetables....so when I couldn't have really much of anything but the dumplings, I asked if I could have some of the vegetables from the entrees that were all unavailable with the dumplings but he said he could not do that. I think the language barrier created some issues in this case. They couldn't accommodate much of anything. That's too bad. I won't be back to this location.

I also tried the Georgian Eggplant Roulett which surprised me when it came out cold, as I've always had eggplant in warm dishes in the past, but I just loved the fresh, flavorful experience of this dish. What a unique and tasty dish! We were the only ones in the restaurant when we dined, as we went at an off hour of the day, with another table joining later. Thus, the service was top-tier and extremely attentive, and I found everyone we encountered to be friendly and helpful. Overall, this was a great experience and I will 100% be back again.

The food is really really good. We were delightfully surprised at how tasty the Dill Pickle soup is. The Pierogis we ordered pan sautéed and they were all very tasty. The Cold Cuts were all really nice too. The decor is fairly dark in black and dark red with alligator print table and booth coverings. There is also a store inside selling a decent selection of candies, canned goods, sausages and frozen pierogi to take home. Service is friendly and as attentive as we wanted. This is a highly recommended place to experience. We can't wait to return on a future trip to the area.

The veal was incredibly tender, and the gravy was packed with flavor. It was a satisfying entrée that came with two sides. For my sides, I chose the pierogies and spätzle. The pierogies were honestly my favorite part of the meal. They were fluffy, cheesy, and generously filled. So delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of just those. The spätzle was soft and well prepared, but compared to everything else, I found it a little boring. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a lot of character. I loved browsing the selection of German snacks, candy, and other imported items available for purchase. It added to the overall experience and made the place feel unique. While I'm not that familiar with German food, I thought this was a pretty good restaurant. Overall, I found German cuisine a little more muted than what I'm personally used to, but I still really enjoyed the meal and the experience. I'd be interested in trying more of the menu.

I had such high hopes for this place. :( The selection is very limited and perhaps I missed something (entirely possible), but I did not see a price list for the deli case. We did find a unique assortment of other German products- some we haven't seen in many years. The restaurant portion was quite busy and the customers looked happy. We were flooded with nostalgia and left in hopes of dining in on a less-busy day. I ordered two meats, including the German bologna. During the drive home, my family and I noticed a terrible odor-- the kind where we started pointing fingers at one another. We never suspected that the package from the deli was the source. When we opened it at home, a nauseatingly funky, ammonia-type smell came from the German bologna. While the liverwurst smelled okay, I could not trust it after the bologna and decided against keeping it. Wasted time and money. Dang! The staff is super nice and that was truly a plus. However, I doubt we will be back. My family is very bummed over this.
