When we were completing our home, their team expertly repaired the shoddy, poor quality drywall installation by the home builder before painting. Different specialized teams were involved for drywall finishing, and for interior amd exterior painting. They took the time to correctly prep the areas to be painted and to clean up when they were finished. Donovan's managers and office staff are friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. We wouldn't use anyone else for painting and drywall needs.

James arrived about 15 min past the estimated time of arrival. James finished within the expected time. He was pleasant, efficient and completed the job which had been abandoned by the previous handyman. J&J was responsive and just simply a pleasure to deal with. For the record before this incident I praised and loved working with Jenn and James as they were easy to work with and the prices were fair and they were nice to talk with I had used them for multiple jobs including a step railing repair/a garage storage rack repair that another company SRO2 installed totally wrong/We had them come and install exhaust vent covers to keep birds out/We had them fix some trim molding in our master bedroom so you can see we used them more than once as a repeat loyal customer I was. My mother in law decided she wanted to sell her home and some work needed to be done to the back deck who else would I call besides J&J Handyman and Services, I spoke with Jenn over multiple text which I will upload and I asked for James to come out to give me a quote they decided pictures would be ok so I sent pictures and videos and texted the work that was needed and we confirmed a price of $475.00 plus I pay for materials. Well the day of work comes and James comes out and tells me basically the price I was given by his wife and co owner Jenn was wrong!!! and that he could save us money by doing a better repair of the deck I agreed and he went to lowes and I paid for the materials over the phone, James returned to start the work and I left him be and I went back to work. Well I had not heard anything from James or gotten any photos stating he was done with the job, upon arrival back at the home I saw a little pile of trash and rotted wood that James had left and then found out that they charged my mother in law $414.00 for way less work!!! how is this a savings I texted James about my disastifaction with this job and the price and asked could either him or Jenn give me a call? NOPE!!! his response was his reasoning for the job he did and the cost it would have took to do it the way I thought we had agreed on, I replied with along message to James stating basically that we had a deal and as a repeat customer I deserved better and for the fact that I was trying to give them family referrals, well that was the last that I heard from Jenn and James about the situation, I am disapointed that I lost a good Contractor due to this incident as I have a ton of upgrades planned for our home and my mother in law always has a list of work that needs to be done. I have uploaded the photos of the conversations and the before and after photos now show me 414.00 worth of labor when I was a repeat customer plus I paid for the material the worst part like I have mentioned is they ain't reach out to me to try and make it right and now I have lost an amazing contractor!!!

Working with Coastal Custom Painting was the worst contracting decision of my life…read more We received 3 bids to paint the exterior of our home. Coastal Custom Painting was the highest bid (by far!) but we went with them based on the work guarantee, the detailed quote, and the commitment to brush and "back roll," the entire home. The job was quoted to take two weeks time. We lived through a 4-month nightmare working with Coastal Custom Painting. They used our home without authorization, they used our furniture for ladders, they left paint spills, overspray, and trash everywhere. They were full of excuses as to why the job went from 10 days to 4 months. And that's all before the paint began to fail after 4 months. The areas where the home was hand-painted are worth every penny, but two entire sides of our home had failing paint just four months after the job was complete. Those 2 sides of the home were not handpainted, but rather sprayed and missed proper prepping. When I requested they fix the work, they voided the guarantee since they worked over the winter when the temperatures dropped. The excuses are exhausting. I do not recommend Custom Coastal Painting.

They maybe good in 2012 fast forward to 2018 they are shyster. They are quick to take your money and every time you ask why this was not done and why do I have to pay additional they will sell you the many additional suggestions of why. They didn't pull the permits and said we never talk about it. I didn't get an email of the works they said they will do until 2 months later. They were not on time and the estimate was so incomplete than what the actual money that we pay out to them. They suggested another person who does plumbing and A/C "Around the clock heating & air conditioned " and he also bill us $5 thousand on top of CCP charge. When confronted one would blame the other- one would say "he work for me" and the one say "I don't work for him" or "I'm waiting for them to finish this then I will do this"- but it never gets done- they kept tacking on charges we had to ask them to leave so we could figure out and assess the situation and see what $15K basement renovation got us and if the $4,500 retaining wall in the back yard will pass inspection or not- I am aware that we have loss all the saving we had and I will have to go back to work to pay for the incomplete job left behind by CCP. Every week my one closet added on during construction somehow kept going up in price.
