We went in with a mass order which a price had been agreed to and then the next time we went in the price was upped. This happened on various occasions in which we were Nickel and dimmed for everything that we asked over the prices that were originally given. When the order was finalized there were a couple of mistakes and they did not take onus for them and charged us again to fix them. Definitely recommend S Hong Designs! I have been getting my embroidery done from him for the past 6 years. He used to be located in Fam Mart on Euclid, past Oak Park, and they moved to this location about a year and a half ago. I've gotten Greek letters, logo embroidery, screen printing, and custom patches done here. He never disappoints and always makes sure you leave happy with your order. I recommend submitting your order at least a month in advance because he supports many organizations and during busy season (i.e. banquets and formals at the end of the semester) it may be difficult for him to complete your order in time for your event. Also make sure to be very thorough and descriptive (i.e. height, width, color, etc.) when providing details for your logo/design. Only downside about going to S Hong Design is the shopping complex it's in doesn't have a great parking lot. Each spot is very compact, so you will see most cars double-park in this lot. The man apologized for the mess, but asked if he could help me. I told him I was just looking. He disappeared in the back to talk to his coworker. She came out and asked if I had a pickup. Very disappointed with the service and lack of customer service from this place. I'm in the Sigma Alpha Zeta Sorority, and as a team we had our line jackets embroidered with this Company. Not only did they return the jackets with errors on the stitching, the also made errors on dates embroidered on the jackets. Even sewed shut some of the pockets! When asked to correct these issues? DO NOT BUY/ORDER FROM S HONG (especially GREEK apparel) I don't usually take the time to write reviews -- I am be speaking on behalf of my experience and fellow peers' past experiences. The ratings on this business is underrated and does not reflect their work. I brought in my own garment to get screen printed and embroidered for Greek apparel, and sadly, S Hong did a poor job. The embroidery on the lower back of my jersey shirt was crooked (as seen below). The employees/owners denied its misplacement and failed to take full responsibility of their mistake; instead they blamed the crookedness on my garment and embroidery machine. The woman was frankly rude and aggressive by my respectful confrontation and request. I asked the woman what she can do to compensate my ruined order and she did not agree to refund or give a discount. The woman mentioned multiple times that it would be difficult to redo the stitching and if re-stitched, the crooked outcome would occur again. After an intense 30 minute discussion about my order, the woman then offered to redo my order. I declined her offer due to the fact that I was leaving town the next day and would be bringing the designed jersey to give as a gift. The woman believed that the crookedness of my embroidery request was only "minor" shift and should be excused. This is my first time ordering Greek apparel for my first little and I am disappointed not only by the outcome of my order but by the approach and mannerisms from the owners. recognize that this shop has partnered with many organizations and Greek councils; thus, I entrusted my partnership with them for my first Greek order. After sharing a photo of my shirt on my social accounts, I received dozens of responses from friends in Greek Life that they too, had horrible experiences with S Hong Design. Many have shared that their orders have had errors and agreed that they have inconsistent and negligent customer service. A handful of friends warned me that S Hong had lower quality with slightly overrated and fluctuating price rates. However, I decided to visit S Hong for convenience and to support local business. They were not only late with her order but messed up and tried to double down that they were in the right even though there were texts to prove it. I have been going to Frank and Sue for over 6 years to get all of my embroidery done and I wouldn't go anywhere else because they're really amazing people who do whatever they can to make your experience worthwhile. I usually buy my own jacket, sweater, cardigan, etc. and let Frank and Sue handle the embroidery. They have options at their store if you want to take a look around as well: sweaters, jackets, shirts, hats, beanies, etc. I can vouch that everything that I have ordered through S Hong has been top quality and I'm very satisfied with how everything turned out. I have personal jackets and sweaters that were embroidered from them over 6 years ago and they are still in great condition. Items I had customized for others still look great too. I've had them take care of sweaters, jackets, hats, fanny packs, windbreakers, you name it. They are flexible in working with different kinds of materials too. I've brought in lace and ties for them to use for lettering and they both turned out really nice. I definitely recommend ordering at least a month or two ahead of time, especially if you have bulk orders like we usually did. They tend to get busier during the end of the school semesters because that's the time everyone is usually placing orders. So keep that in mind as well. I also recommend going in with some idea of what you want because there are a lot of options. They have books full of colors, patterns and styles to choose from. Their form for customizing your item is very straightforward too. They walk you through it step-by-step to make sure they understand exactly what you want. Once you're done telling them what you want and you're satisfied with the result, you will have to put some money down as a down payment and they'll give you an estimate date of when it will be ready for you. Once you go to pick it up, you will pay the rest of the amount. I needed 4 polos embroidered. I received quotes from at least 4 different vendors. Each were going to charge me a "digitalization/set-up" fee that ranged from $100-45 on top of the embroidered fee for each polo. I showed my logo to S Hong Design and they told me that the would not charge me a set up fee for my simple design. They told me a flat fee to embroider each. I knew from the previous quotes their fee was the most competitive and lowest. They literally walked me through the whole process as I never had something embroidered before. He helped me pick and showed me exactly the color threads they would use. They also helped me pick the font for the words out of the many options they had. Then they showed me how big it would be on the polos. They told me it would only take a week and they were not late. Overall great experience and great service.
