I have been shopping at Father Natures for more than 30 years and have had trees and flowering shrubs for that long that I purchased there. If there is a problem with any of my plants whether I bought them from there or not, they always help me. They may be higher in their prices, but you get what you pay for, and, believe me, I know it. So, if you are trying to save a buck, go to those super-stores and get something and cross your fingers that it will grow. Or, go to Father Natures and get those special plants and veggies that come with a one-year (or season) guarantee!

Prices felt higher than what we usually see at other Suffolk County nurseries, though we didn't buy anything to compare directly. What really stood out was the lack of service. The parking lot was full, but it was hard to find anyone actually working or available to help. If you're after perennials, boxwoods, or larger Japanese maples, Forge River has had a much better selection in our experience.

I called ahead to let them know I was on my way to make the purchase. I arrived shortly before closing, around 5:55 PM. As soon as I walked in, an older gentleman made rude comments about me shopping only a few minutes before closing. One younger employee was kind and tried to defuse the situation, even telling me not to listen to him because he was a "grump." I was prepared to spend over $500, but I left without buying a single plant. I understand that I arrived near closing time, but I had called ahead and expected basic courtesy and professionalism. Instead, I felt unwelcome, belittled, and as though my business was an inconvenience. Unfortunately, the negative reviews I read beforehand turned out to be accurate. I chose not to spend my money at a business that treats customers this way. Respect and customer service matter, regardless of the time of day.

I almost missed them because Google maps will lead you directly to their fence. But I was easily able to park along side the sidewalk. Their employees were very nice and helpful and their plants all looked very healthy. We bought a poblano pepper plant, rosemary, oregano, chive, cacti & succulent soil, a pot for my aloe plant, and organic fertilizer. Everything was very reasonably priced and they were having a 50% sale on their plants! I wanted to plant some eggplants, but I saw on their Facebook page that they sold out.
