My experience with them over the last 10 years has been average. They do their job, and are priced ok. They have told me in the past that they are "too busy" to do additional work for me. Ordered flowers for myself after stumbling upon their website seeing all of their beautiful creations. This is by far one of the few florists around that creates beautiful arrangements, while it may be a little more expensive than those in the surrounding area; I would rather pay a few extra bucks for far superior quality. First bad experience here- I really hope it is a fluke thing. Lisa made me feel VERY uncomfortable- to the point that I did not buy flowers today. Starting with the fact that she was not wearing her mask properly- that definitely did not begin things in the right place. Then she was short with me about the flower availability. She also asked me if I was 'name'- what was that about? I was like um, no- it was like she was on a different planet. I said that I did not feel comfortable, and she did not care at all. I was out of town and I paid for a bouquet to arrive at 10:00 AM on Mother's Day. By 5:40 PM it had still not arrived. I called and they said they would get it there, but they were really busy. It's Mother's Day, of course they're busy. They knew they would be, but still confirmed they would deliver by 10:00 AM. I don't know when they finally delivered the bouquet, but it must have been at night. The flowers were eventually found on the door step the next morning. read more

Working with Suzanne at Bella Flowers (in Main Street Nursery) was the BEST decision I could have made for our wedding flowers! The flowers were one of my ultimate favorite parts of our wedding. There were requests we made to enhance the inside of our wedding venue, and Suzanne covered all the bases... our venue looked flawless. It elevated our reception room to another level, our bouquets and bouts, CENTERPIECES, mantle displays & ceremony trellis were PHENOMENAL-- her work was stunning. Nowadays, people do so much decorating for weddings. It was completely unnecessary to add anything to our "decorations" besides the flowers, because the flowers spoke for themselves. We discussed not wanting the more traditional flower designs-- Suzanne's design was so unique. We had requests, and images we liked on Pinterest-- but hers blew all of those images out of the water! Some of the foliage Suzanne got, Ive never even seen before. She was so helpful, took any question or concern without hesitation. Our wedding flowers were just unbelievable. The store and nursery are terrific, we use them all the time. The florist is a way different experience, I went to get flowers on a Sunday morning was treated so poorly by a the woman who works there it was upsetting! I was spoken to as if I was an idiot I asked questions for help with flower choices and she could not be bothered, isn't this why you go to an upscale florist??? she was so put off by my asking and I was only there for a few minutes no one else was waiting and it seemed I was interrupting her quiet time. Another person came in and this really threw her off! Treated myself and the other person as if we had been intruders not paying customers. There are not enough good things I can say about Main Street Nursery. I used them for flower crowns and a flower basket with petals for my recent wedding at George Weir Barn and what a seamless and pleasant experience it was. Lisa was amazing and able to work with me on the exact flower crown I wanted. She created a custom piece, based on all of my favorite colors and Pinterest ideas and it stayed bright and vibrant the entire wedding - not a petal fell off or shifted. It absolutely made my wedding look and I felt my absolute best. Additionally, the flower crown was delivered right to my hotel room, the morning of my wedding, and came in beautiful packaging and was delivered with friendly service and attention. Right on time and the pricing cannot be beat. Lisa even suggested flowers and ways for me to save money and stick to my budget, while still getting the colors and look I wanted. I wish I had a reason to wear a flower crown every day, it was so beautiful and made my wedding photos much more remarkable. I wouldn't recommend anyone else other than Main Street Nursery to deal with any of your floral needs. Last year my daughter gave me an incredible gift - once each month I receive flowers - gorgeous flowers - from this amazing florist. And each month, the arrangements are truly incredible! My phone is filled with pictures of them, because each month they are different, but each month they are spectacular. I never know which side to put in front because they are perfect any way I turn the arrangement. The colors, the types of flowers, the things included in each arrangement - honestly breathtaking! There has never been one delivery that disappointed in any way! I cannot recommend this florist more highly. I enjoy going to the nursery my son yesterday. Though it was cold we still enjoyed the outside petting zoo, they had goats and ponies to pets. The goats were so funny trying to eat my hoodie but they're so adorable as they're climbing on their tree stumps. once we were done with the petting zoo we decide to go inside of the greenhouse to defrost. Inside the greenhouse, there were lots of plants including succulents. They also have lots of planters and hanging plants. After we were done with the greenhouse we went inside the main building which is kind of like a gift shop. They have many expensive and breakable things in there. One thing I liked about the place is that I was able to maneuver my stroller inside without having to worry about bumping into anything. In one section of the nursery they have live cut flowers inside of refrigerator oh, they were very beautiful. read more

For as long as I can remember, my family and I have been going to Main Street Nursery. I read from other reviews about their purported landscaping services -- I never used that. Nor did I ever have a party at their tea house. However, I've been buying plants, pots, and various things in their indoors section, and I've always been very happy with the quality of their goods. The prices aren't cheap, but I find them reasonable. I would much rather shop here than a big box store, and I hope they'll always be here. The service here is first class. Everyone working here is very nice and they all know what they're doing. I've never had such exquisite customer service in this industry. It doesn't get better than this. I saved the best part for last. What really separates Main Street Nursery from every other nursery is the ambiance. It's so beautiful here, it's just like walking in a botanical garden. So many beautiful flowers, and there's also a koi pond business here, so you're treated to beautiful ponds with koi swimming in them. It reminds me of the koi ponds at Hilton Hawaiian Village. There's also the closest thing to a petting zoo in the back; goats, a little pony and some chickens. I'm not sure if you're allowed to pet them but they have coin operated food dispensers so you can feed them. It's good for the kids, but it's also a nice stress reliever for adults, I highly recommend it. I bring my dog here. And that's my favorite part. I get to bring my dog here's! If you bring your dog here though, please keep them under control, clean up after them, and don't let them soil the merchandise, because I want them to continue to have the privilege to bring my dog here. My only complaint is that they don't have the soil I like to use on my Holy Basil. They have this organic potting soil mix at whole foods that has no animal products, and I'd rather not schlep to Whole Foods every time I need more. Main Street Nursery is a Huntington institution. Samantha is so kind and talented and she really put me at ease from the moment I met her. We had our first meeting at the wedding venue where we walked though and talked about ideas. A few weeks later we met again at Main Street Nursery to look at flowers. She even had a "trial" bouquet ready for me which was such a nice surprise! Samantha did my flowers for my wedding this past October and the experience from our first meet and greet to the wedding day was absolutely incredible. I had met with a few florists prior to meeting with Sam, but the moment we met I could tell she was who I wanted to work with. She has such a calming energy, which is greatly appreciated during a time that can be high stress. I gave her examples of what I wanted my flowers to look like and a price point, and she was able to work with me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. With so many other things to think about on the day of the wedding, I didn't even need to think about the bouquets or centerpieces because I fully trusted Sam and she did not disappoint! A few of my girlfriends decided to try this tea house as one of them had seen the article in Newsday. I made reservations two weeks in advance for a Sunday afternoon for High tea, and it quite disappointing. The service was terrible. The owner/manager was there with an assistant, who didn't know how to do anything, including making a pot of tea or coffee. The owner/manager was only concerned with talking to one table to asked her about England. I consider myself to be pretty well-educated with tea parties, having thrown a few myself, and visited many in Long Island and California, but this was far from High Tea. The sandwiches were so small, that you could barely pick them up! The scones were cold and old, as they fell apart after you tried to butter them. The desserts tasted and looked a week old as the chocolate was turning white and eveyrthing crumbled into pieces after a bite. The only thing that was delicious was my tea, which was the Long Island Strawberry tea and the chocolate-dipped strawberries, which were plump and sweet! In addition to our terrible tea, there was no Air conditioning as noted in the flyer. They had one standing fan that circulated hot air within the tiny room. I would not recommend this place for tea, and will not be returning. read more

I Used them for centerpieces for a friends birthday and I was immediately impressed by the knowledge the florist had. I know a lot more then the average person when it comes to flowers and often find it hard to get exactly what I want from local florists because they hire people without extensive knowledge of flowers. This was not the case at main street I had a tropical arrangement In mind and they were completely on board with my choices of heliconia ,birds of paradise and anthurium. I supplied my own vases to have more money to put toward the actual arrangement. The arrangements cost 100 dollars per table but easily looked like we spent a lot more. I was complimented all evening on how amazing they look and the people in the restaurant that we used for the party we're snapping photos of them.
