I tried to make an appointment with this doctor and there was a two month wait. So I scheduled the appt. The day of the appt., I came all the way from Laguna woods and I stopped at my daughters in Yorba Linda to pick her up since she was going with me. When I told her that his office did not call to confirm the appt. and I had an uneasy feeling about it. I thought I had better call just to confirm. They proceeded to tell me that the appt. was cancelled and that the doctor didn't have any openings for another two months. I was, needless, to say that I was very upset because I needed to see a pulmonologist and I had already wasted two months waiting. I wanted to speak to someone regarding this since I had not been notified of the cancellation. They tried to connect me with his nursing assistant from his office, but couldn't locate a person by the name of Andy. He called me back later that afternoon and told me that they did indeed call me to cancel. That call was never received. He proceeded to tell me that the doctor is very busy and their very busy in their office when this happens, as though he wasn't going to take any responsibility that this happened. I proceeded to tell him that I didn't appreciate coming all the way from Laguna Woods to find out I was cancelled. He became very rude and said I don't even know where Laguna Woods is and we did call you. I said I hadn't been called or I wouldn't have made the trip. When I asked him when I could get an appointment, he told me in another two months. I proceeded to tell him that my primary doctor had sent a consultation letter to Dr. Hardeman to expedite him seeing me. He said that they never received a referral. In checking with my primary doctor, this wasn't true. Andy told me he would check with the doctor to see if I could get an earlier appointment and he would call me back. Of course, just like the notification of the cancellation, Andy, the nursing assistant of Dr. Hardeman never did call me back. Thank you ANDY, you made such a good impression to be left with of Dr. Hardeman office and St Jude's Medical Center and the way that you represent them. It's unfortunate ANDY that they have a employee like you working for them and giving that establishment such a bad impression to future patients.

Yes, getting appointments may be difficult sometimes but it's like that at all doctors offices it seems.... The office staff is helpful and I always receive good care here. Thank you.

Very disappointing experience…read more I was originally scheduled to see Dr. Nguyen Dang, but due to a schedule change, I was seen by Vivian Bui, PA instead. Her communication felt extremely cold, dismissive, and condescending. The way she spoke to me and looked at me made me feel like I was being talked down to rather than treated with basic respect. What was especially concerning was when she told me that there was essentially "nothing this doctor can do for a Type 1 diabetic." I found that statement extremely inappropriate and discouraging. A primary care provider still plays an important role in a patient's overall health and routine preventive care, regardless of whether the patient has Type 1 diabetes. I work in the medical field myself, so I understand that not every patient needs every service or treatment. However, there is a professional and respectful way to explain that. Patients spend their time and money coming to a medical office and deserve to be treated with courtesy, empathy, and professionalism. Today, I did not feel that I received any of those from this provider. I sincerely hope the office takes patient communication and bedside manner more seriously
