It's not uncommon to spend 30 minutes in line waiting to check out. :-( On the upside, the produce people are helpful and the market is descent. So if you are looking for Chinese ingredients, except seafood and don't mind waiting a while to check out this is a good choice. It's than ** Ranch market several miles north on Aurora.

There's no other terms on them that specify what qualifies for the coupons. I've had no previous issues redeeming the $2 off any entree coupon on items off their menu. However, one day the worker at that moment decided he wanted to be slimy over a tiny $3 difference and said the gyro platter ISN'T an entree. He was pushing to upsell me to use the $5 off $20 coupon and kept saying the $2 off is only for items in the deli case. I probably should have walked away, but I was hungry and already there, so I agreed to get upsold and added baklava ($5+, but $6+ after taxes) to my order to reach $20+. I should have just ordered only the gyro platter because I wasn't saving any money at all at that point. The baklava wasn't that great because it wasn't even fresh. I've also had hard pieces of rice in my meal before. I don't think that's the standard? Basically this place is a hit or miss depending on who's working that day.

I have an aversion to entering a place where I cannot see into their windows (covered with music posters, cigarette ads), but our friends at Enat (Ethiopian place a block away) told us this was the place they buy their supplies from. When you're here, you buy their lentils (tiny split red ones, medium orange ones, large yellow ones that I can never get to freaking cook properly despite hours of soaking and crockpot, grrr), spices (chai blend, cinnamon, yellow curry-like, white crumbly thickener, spicy red stuff), and of course injera. A pack holds several large rounds and it's always fresh and warm. How? But they always have it and people are always coming in to buy it for the week. They sell other items like canned tomatoes, honey, cookies, drinks, etc. You will often find local people just chatting with the single cashier. It's really a neighborhood joint and we like that. Plus, they are happy to answer our questions about food. :) Everyone is so nice. Everything is so very cheap here. We've taken to using these spices in our regular cooking too!

I am from the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle (home neighborhood in my American hometown - Northgate, Seattle) and I continue to use this location if I am in the area, though I live in Shoreline now. Sections of the store are well labeled and the workers have been professional in our interactions over the years. My favorite cake is yellow cake, has been for over 20 years, and this QFC location remains my go-to when I am looking for a slice or two of yellow cake. The in-store bakery makes a great cake and perfect frosting, especially the yellow cake and caramel frosting option. Even as of my most recent visit on Sunday 29 October 2023, I was happy to find fresh made yellow cake options. The parking lot can get a little cramped, has a 90 minute limit, and is restricted to QFC customers. There are two entrances/exits, which can be a little difficult to maneuver. However, it was one of my favorite lots when I was first learning/adjusting to driving because it helped teach me patience and to breath in tight fit situations.

But right now, (March 2026), with the huge apartment construction project going on at the south end of the lot, parking, and getting in and out of the store, is becoming all but impossible during weekdays. I advise avoiding this QFC during core hours of 11am-4pm M-F until the project is done. Also, the construction crew is full of nasty guys who block the parking lot entrances and exits with equipment and work vehicles, and then yell at QFC customers to, basically, get of the way. All in all, very unpleasant shopping experience. Go somewhere else for now.
