Fruit, like life, comes with no guarantees. Inspect any fruit before you buy, no matter where you shop, but especially at a fruit stand like Top Banana. Snowflakes who complain about avocados being brown must be too busy staring at screens to pay attention to merchandise while shopping. Learn how to spot the avocado's stem button; no button, no buy! Grow up; put down the phone and learn to shop. While you're at it, come to appreciate TB for what it is: a locally-owned fruit stand with great prices on as many local fruits and veggies as are available. Cry-babies who need a completely sterile, nickel-chrome, antiseptic, germ-free-clean, corporate, air-conditioned market that contributes to global warming can shop elsewhere. So, go to wherever that is and leave Top Banana to the rest of us. Check out my pictures. Top Banana is cool. Grown-ups should go check it out.

I really appreciate having a local produce stand in the neighborhood. The prices are great here and the quality of produce is always better than what you find in the grocery store. This place makes it easier for me to add more fruits and veggies to my diet. I also like that they have locally made tortillas too.

How could anyone negatively review this place? I have never had a bad experience. Yeah, he hires kids that attend school across the street. Go him. He's competing with Safeway, Trader Joe's, Fred Myer, Amazon Fresh, PCC, and now New Seasons! He is open 8-8 daily and has the best tasting fruit by far. No AC? Please, people. A) This is Seattle. FML. Go back to LA and kill the planet from there. B) It's a produce stand. Get over yourself. If you get something bad then return it. I have. That's bound to happen. Fruit goes bad. Shocker. It's got no preservatives. The owner has personally helped me pick out fruit. He's come to the checkout while I'm purchasing items to mark them down and refund me. How many places like this still exist?! Keep it up. You're def the Top f***ing Banana to me!

Christa is kind, cool and friendly whenever I have questions or want anything in particular. The main love I have for them is that everything is organic AND plenty of variety to select from! Lately, I've been loading up on potatoes, sweet potatoes and yams for steaming and baking. They're located south in the arcade - just a short walk north from the flying fish crowd. After one bite, my husband (who mostly ate spinach has his primary veggie), announced, "I never thought I liked beets, but these taste sooo good!!!" Growing Washington changed the way we cook and eat!!! We've been members of this CSA for three years and have offered our front porch as a hosting site. They provide 100% LOCAL and ORGANIC fruits, veggies, and even butter, flour, fresh flowers, herbs, and eggs. All the products are fresh and unique. The BEST thing about this CSA is that they provide a LIST of all the FRESH stuff on the farm that week, and you CHOOSE what works best for your taste, cooking style, and needs. You can be adventurous one week, and conservative next week. It's all so flavorful and delicious. I've been particularly impressed with the service. We've been going with the CSA for three years and anytime there has been questionable quality they always replace it, no questions asked. Two weeks in a row we got some icky misuna, and the third week they sent us FLOWERS. I always feel like I end up on top. Just another reason to love summer in Seattle.

The delivery to my doorstep is still super-fantastic. The new beautiful things? They now have fruit-only and veggie-only bins! And more importantly... YOU CAN NOW MAKE SUBSTITUTIONS ON THE SITE AND BUY EXTRA ITEMS IF YOU WANT TO! I believe you're limited to 5 substitutions per bin, but that's still awesome! Sometimes I haven't finished the apples yet or know I won't want a certain item the following week, and I love that I can edit my order right on the website (instead of having to email or call). I do like going to shops and markets and picking out my own things, but experience has shown me that I just don't make enough time for that to actually have produce available in my kitchen every day/week. This way I get to discover new items, only have to decide on any substitutions I might want, and it shows up on my doorstep every Tuesday so I always have some (healthy!) food available at home without needing to go shopping. I LOVE IT! *Case of amazing customer service: The owner Carolyn recently called me because she noticed that I had selected the fruit bin, but kept substituting vegetables in. She wanted to suggest switching to the personal mixed bin because then I'd be able to still get fruit and a bunch of other items. I'm so happy I did that because with the fruit bin I kept going crazy and ordering like 10-15 bananas each time. Now I limit myself to 2-4 bananas and get a wider variety of veggies/fruit instead!

You'll be interacting with others who are making things for the first time, and are just looking for a different type of date night. Tracy was also teaching us methodology and science behind why sushi is made a certain way in Japanese culture, even going as deep as helping us prepare rice to a certain temperature before using it.
