Several years ago I first are at Saba and was blown away with everything I tried especially the hot pita bread. The hummus and kibbee was simply outstanding. I returned recently and was terribly disappointed. The pita bread was partially raw and heavy. The hummus was just mediocre and the menu was completely changed. We had a wonderful first date out there, last night and felt completely safe in there!! We were warmly greeted and sat right away in a booth that was appropriately spaced. The menu offers plenty of authentic options, full of flavor. Portions are generous here even with the appetizers. Side note: THIS flaming cheese was life changing!! It felt like I tasting cheese for the first time, ever and it's definitely a show stopper! I ordered the Chicken Shwarma, Yellow Basmati Rice and Grilled Veggies from the "Build Your Own" Menu, which is perfect for someone who likes to explore the menu. My husband stuck to his tried and true Smokehouse Gyro, and Greek Fries. We watched employees constantly sanitize their hands, menus and anything that was touched prior to addressing each individual tables. Menu items range from Gyros, salads, tabouli and even burgers. I ordered takeout tonight and it was very disappointing. The rice was mushy and undercooked and the chicken was pink and undercooked. The bright spot was the gyro meat. For over $30 with tip worth of food for one entree there weren't any utensils included. I had ordered one previous time at work and the chicken was dry. It seems like consistency isn't there in the way the food is prepared. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this place has been a miss each time. read more

Small on the outside, spacious in the inside. Walk in and it's tables on the left and kitchen on the right. Big fan of their Taziki on chicken kabobs. Chicken is moist and even without the T sauce. I even dabbled on their buffalo sauce and unsure if its a mixture of franks red hot sauce and other additive but it is delicious with just the right amount of spice. This is my go to place in the area for chicken and rice meals. You'll be surprised that leftover chicken will stay moist even in the microwave! We are perplexed by all the stellar reviews which moved us to try Saba's. Our takeout food was disappointing. Maybe this is one of those places that are way better when dining in or possibly it was an off night? It took awhile to be acknowledged, but staff was very welcoming and friendly. We arrived as the food came out, drove 2 miles, ate immediately - and found the food already cold and underwhelming. The highlight was the hummus and tzatziki, which were very good. We were given several pitas, but they seemed a bit stale and mostly went to waste. The grilled chicken was tender and moist, but not super flavorful. Gyro meat was very dry as if it had been sitting awhile and I chomped bone a couple times. I've had much better. Portions were generous and one entree meat per person for the build your own is plenty. We got two per person and it was way too much. They come with a small 2oz portion of tzatziki or tahini. Definitely order extra sauces. Our sides were grilled veggies (which come as a whole half green pepper, whole half tomato and slice of onion - wouldn't choose again), fries (good but soggy), and we split a rice (cold) and Greek salad (good). They forgot a side of rice and an add on salad. Way too much Styrofoam packaging is used for takeout orders. Saba's please consider more earth friendly packaging. Would definitely be back. I went here the afternoon before the shutdown that Ducey ordered. This establishment had already taken the precautionary measures and was doing take-out only. However, they did offer one of the 3 outside tables for people to dine on. I ordered my food, they were sweet and still served it to me as if I was dining in. I even paid after eating. The chicken was a little dry for me, but I suspect they use breast meat, which kinda always ends up too dry for my taste. The flavor of the chicken and the hummus was amazing. The portion size was good, I got full and had leftovers. They even offered me drink refills, which I didn't expect on a "take-out" order. The staff was very sweet. I hope very much that this small business pulls out of this shutdown ok. UPDATE AFTER GEORGE'S COMMENT BELOW: I don't believe the kitchen did anything wrong with the chicken breast. Finally got around to trying this place, which I've had bookmarked forever. Had the large Sleepy Salad, which is their name for a Greek salad w gyro. It's $14.95 and worth every penny. We are talking several POUNDS of food here including a generous portion of gyro meat (steamed or grilled "Chicago style"). Very tasty salad. Tossed w Greek Dressing and served w a side of Tzatziki. This is enough food for a hungry person to eat for lunch, then take home the pounds of leftovers and enjoy for dinner...and lunch the next day!!
