Needed some help digesting the menu and grabbed a server named Trace who was not our server but was so willing and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Our first visit to restaurant for restaurant week. Wow! Amazing! The staff was amazing, food served timely, cooked fantastic. I had mussels for appetizer and short rib for main dish. Mussels were good but short rib cut with fork. My father had the bacon wrapped pork. SO GOOD! Smokey taste, perfectly prepared. We tried this place for lunch. The wait was short it was busy as we went during lunch during the week. I started out with a strawberry mint yuzu drink which just missed all the flavors for me it was ok. The bread was ok some parts really tough but the pesto was tasty. I got the strawberry avocado salad. Which is very lacking in avocado there was maybe two pieces of it. I enjoyed the combination of beets strawberries and chicken very fresh. Wish it had more avocado if it's in the name it should be very present in my opinion. The lasagna was very good great portion it came with bread with was overly toasted. Great flavor on the lasagna. Oh Olive and Ivy, what happened? We went to Restaurant Week in September 2026, one year after being blown away by their food during Restaurant Week 2025. What a difference a year made, because every single item we ordered last year was a major letdown one year later. This time around, the mussels were tiny and the butterscoth cream cake seemed to have shrunk to half the size (inflation?) The sea bass, which was absolutely amazing last year, was not as tender and the sauce (what little of it) had no depth and flavor. The beef short rib also was not tender. The main issue with the dishes seemed to have been the execution, the lack of which definitely showed this year. Our server was still great and we tried the "Infamous Espressotini" which was certainly different with cold brew versus espresso. It was good, but not infamously the best I've ever had. read more

My husband and I stopped at Olive and Ivy for brunch before a trip out of town, and we were very, very pleased! Our server was the most adorable human ever. (I'm sorry I did not catch her name!!). We split the cinnamon roll and egg sandwich and it was great! Probably some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had! The only reason I would give them a four out of five star review is because their Coke zero comes in a bottle rather than fountain, but definitely personal preference! I do wish they had misters everywhere outside instead of just one place along the water, but also you could sit inside as well. We will definitely be back to try other things. read more

Came here with a few friends for brunch last week. We had made reservations the day before and were seated right away without any wait. We stopped in after seeing the Titanic exhibit, and overall I have to say the food was excellent. My son and I both had the sea bass, my daughter-in-law had the bruschetta, and my wife had the pizza. Everything was very good, and the sauce on the pizza was especially excellent. Service was good -- not great, but good. The DJ actually added some nice ambience to the place and gave the restaurant a good vibe. Now here's my problem. This is a BIG restaurant. I'm not talking about some tiny little neighborhood place where they have to squeeze every table into every corner. Yet somehow, they sat the four of us right next to the server computer station, where the staff is constantly coming and going, punching in checks, picking things up, walking back and forth -- the whole time you're trying to eat dinner. And to make it worse, that table is close to the front door. This is Arizona. Every time that door opens, you get a blast of heat. I can only imagine in colder weather you'd get the opposite problem. I've been around restaurants a long time, and some tables just shouldn't be tables. That's one of them. I understand nobody wants to give up a four-top, but in a restaurant that size, come on. Move the table or get rid of it. The guest experience should be worth more than squeezing in four extra seats. The food absolutely deserves a return visit. Just do yourself a favor if they try to seat you by that computer station near the front door, ask for another table. read more

I have a friend who is visiting from New York. He's more of a pasta eater, and I am a salad eater. So I thought this restaurant would be the perfect place for us because it would give him had only great atmosphere/ ambiance, and food choices. Personally, I had only been here one time before. And it was crowded, so I sat at the bar with a friend and ordered the salad that had granola and it was fabulous, so I wanted to order it again. My friend had the lasagna and loved it. My husband and I went out for date night and tried this place for the first time. We were not disappointed! The service was very quick and the server was prompt. They have bread and pesto for the table and the pesto was the BEST thing i've ever eaten. The bacon wrapped dates were amazing. I am not a fan of dates but these were quite yummy!! Olive & Ivy had been on my list for a while as it's one of the most popular restaurants in Phoenix on Yelp. I finally stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Located in Kierland Commons on the waterway in Scottsdale, it's not easy to figure out why this restaurant is so popular. My friend made a reservation over a week in advance for 7:30. All they had available was 7:45 on the patio. I was a bit annoyed. With that being said, when I arrived, the restaurant was almost completely full. No fake hype here. I parked on the street a block or so away from the restaurant. You can also park for free in the parking garage. Ambiance (4/5): As a Fox Concept restaurant, I wasn't surprised that the ambiance is nice. It's a large restaurant with a large patio. They say that they're bringing the French Riviera to you. Maybe not quite, but still definitely a pleasant restaurant with nice decor and sophistication without being stuffy. Service (3/5): Service was a bit lackluster. Our waitress did a good job stopping by promptly in the beginning. Toward the middle of our dining experience and the end, she stopped by seldomly. One of those situations where you're actively looking for your waitress because she's not stopping by periodically. A little more attentiveness would've helped, but outside of that, she was friendly. Drinks (4/5): I had a long day at work and I was ready to unwind. They have an interesting cocktail menu and I was torn between two choices. I ended up going with the seasonal sangria. Normally, I don't go for basic cocktails, but this is not your basic sangria. Yuzu was in the sangria which I've never seen before. Hence the seasonal aspect. It was refreshing. Outside of cocktails, they have your typical assortment of wine, beer, and soft drinks. Food (4/5): Olive & Ivy is Mediterranean fare with a California twist. They started us off with some complimentary bread and pesto sauce. Always a nice touch! The bread wasn't my favorite but hey, free is free. They have an interesting menu, just not the most appealing for my tastes. Some entrees are pretty expensive while others are affordable. There was only one dish in my mind that stood out and that's what I went with: the lasagna Bolognese. And I'm happy I did! A fusion of two classic Italian dishes. It was quite good. Reasonable portion size, though I would've liked a bit more. Flavorful with spinach ricotta and melted cheese on top. Up there with some of the best lasagna I've had. And served with a slice of what seemed to be a French baguette with melted butter. Overall, very, very good. And here's a pro tip: they have a marketplace area of the restaurant which is more of a grab and go type of spot separate from the restaurant. $4 for one scoop of the Oreo Cheesecake gelato. Finally got a chance to dine here and enjoyed my visit. Reservations are highly recommended, even on a weeknight. They have a beautiful large patio on the waterfront, which is perfect if the weather cooperates (and it did on our visit!) We tried bruschetta and loved it. My favorite was the mozzarella one, the bread on it was perfect too. My friend enjoyed the prosciutto one and we both also tried the strawberry one (the bread was a little soggy on this) For my main course I got the Japanese sweet potato bowl. The dining room itself is gorgeous and they had a DJ for the event & lots of lights & balloons. It really helped bring together the exciting atmosphere. They had a prix fixe menu with great options and the pricing was very reasonable. I don't think there was a single food item I disliked. I also ordered a dirty martini which was made perfectly. The only downfall of our meal was the timing & I get it was a major holiday so it's hard to judge. I ordered a second drink which I wanted to pair with dessert but it didn't end up coming out until we were literally paying for our bill. We usually sit inside but tried the patio this time and it was quite lovely, with lots of umbrellas for shade. I will say each time we arrive, regardless of the hostess, she is not generally friendly. Fortunately we love the food, ambience and food service but it would be nice if we were greeted pleasantly since that is the first point of contact upon entering the restaurant. There is also a side cafe with an abbreviated menu, which is a nice option if the restaurant is busy or the wait is long. We haven't tried it yet but would in the future. I came into Olive & Ivy for a quick breakfast before my Papago Park electric bike tour. I placed my order and then got a number for the food. The drinks were picked up at the cashier when they called your name. The ambiance was clean and spread out. There was a whole part of the restaurant that was closed off and didn't open until lunch. I ordered a coldbrew coffee with almond milk, a strawberry protein shake and the egg sandwich. The egg sandwich had avocado, bacon, american cheese, toasted brioche, mayo; served with: breakfast potatoes however, I substituted the breakfast potatoes for a bowl of fruit. Our server Dehlia was attentive and even brought us all out a little surprise for the bday celebration which was so nice! The drinks were awesome, I got the espresso martini but the sangria, Sangiovese, watermelon spritz and Athena's daisy with mezcal were all also great! For apps I got to try the white truffle prosciutto pizza and crab artichoke dip, both very delicious. For dinner I tried the short ribs (delish but could've had more sauce) and my husbands chicken scallopini, so flavorful. It was packed for a Monday night but they handled a big party like a pro! This is a popular restaurant, and you can tell from the minute you walk inside! My favorite feature was the lighting, specifically the glass lanterns all along the ceiling. We were seated in a comfortable booth. We did wait until our reservation time, but were seated right away. Before we were seated, we decided to get drinks at the bar and enjoy them in their outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant. There's multiple tables and chairs just outside the entrance and they are well protected from any weather. We enjoyed their Espressotini (one of the best Espresso martinis I've ever had!), the La Flora (deliciously fruity), and the Old Fashioned. All were exceptional cocktails with beautiful garnishes! For appetizers, we shared the smoked salmon bruschetta (they kindly cut it into 3 pieces for our group), the arancini, and the Brussel sprouts. Our waitress, Barrie; recommended the Brussels sprouts, and I'm so glad she did--they were AMAZING! For dinner, we had the grilled artichoke flatbread (great crust!), the chicken scallopini, and the seafood medley with black pasta in a tomato broth-sauce. The flatbread was crispy with a good amount of cheese, and the dollops of goat cheese and piquillo pepper jam were the perfect toppings. The chicken was perfectly cooked and had lots of gooey cheese. The tomato sauce on the seafood medley was light but flavorful, and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. During dinner, we enjoyed a bottle of Sangiovese which was smooth and a light but bold red wine. My dad also had the spicy margarita, which definitely has a KICK but is tasty. Finally, we shared the lemon cake which Barrie kindly put a candle in and the plate said "Happy Birthday!" In beautifully piped cursive. We also had the creme Brulee, and even though it's not a go to dessert for me; it was fantastic! It had the perfect crunchy crack of sugar and an assortment of berries. The portion was a pleasant surprise too! We will definitely be returning! If you dine here, make sure to ask for Barrie -- she is so sweet and did an amazing job serving us! I wish I knew the waitress' name because she deserves the praise (and potentially an Oscar). We were a big party of I believe 16 or so for a work dinner. Not only did she take the time to help me prank my bosses, but she was incredibly sweet, helpful with the menu and always checked if we needed anything or more drinks.
