The only negative thing I can say about the practice is that it's better at treating symptoms as they come than in helping patients find a diagnosis. Too many things are referred out to specialists--and we're short on those in Tucson, with appointments 3-6 months out on average, which delays care. And most of the specialists I've seen seem superfluous...an endo runs the same blood tests as a primary; a rheumatologist takes the same X-rays, etc. It would be nice not to have to go through months of waiting to get the basics done.

My interaction with this office had deteriorated immensely over the last year. I have struggled to get responses, had to call 3-4 times to get answers to questions, I NEVER get a call back, and I was recently told an order for labs were sent in twice, yet the lab never received them. If you are concerned for your health or experiencing symptoms, find somewhere else. It's so unfortunate given how nice dr. Donnelly is.

He spent a good hour with me asking a zillion questions while slipping in "is there anything else at all that you want to mention?" (in case his questions didn't encompass everything) several times, and then did an in-depth physical exam of reflexes, sensory, etc. He was really thorough and a STARK contrast to the neurologist I saw for the same issue a year and a half ago who spent 5min with me after waiting 4mo for the appointment. Would HIGHLY recommend this doctor who very clearly exercises his profession with real conviction.

Went into the clinic, and they told me they wouldn't see me because I had an appointment, and they wouldn't let me cancel the appointment. There was no line or excuse that they had too many other cases. I told them my knee nearly gave out when I got out of bed. They told me to go to the ER if it was so bad. Takeaway: They care more about scheduling consistency than patient pain. Don't make an appointment.

I had an appt scheduled yet when I showed up for it, I was told that she only sees in person on fridays. I drove 40 miles to see her, grandson missed school and I begged to be squeezed in or to be seen by another dr. Nope. Earliest next appt was end of September. I was 'butt-dialed' one day as well and could hear them discussing patients in a not so good manner. I yelled n yelled that I was there but wasn't heard so I hung up. Business practices are less than stellar and I've never really felt that she cared for what I was going through, as is evidenced by scheduling of appts. It would have taken maybe 10?? minutes to see me. That's more than what I've gotten to see her in the past. Now I get to find a new rheumatologist, which will take awhile to get into I'm sure. But hopefully they'll have a better business and more caring and attentive bedside manner.

He is very through in describing your test/ lab results as well as explaining different treatment paths and why he thinks one path is the best. Recently I was out in a new medication and when I started having negative side effects I was able to message Dr Maxwell through their patient portal and he messaged me back the same day and had a new prescription ready for me soon after that. I can't recommend Dr Maxwell high enough!!!
