Authentic Peruvian flavor that feels like home I visited Sabor a Barrio while visiting from California, and as a Peruvian, I was so happy to find a place that truly felt like home. The first time I went, I had jalea de mariscos and a chicha morada absolutely amazing! Crunchy, flavorful, and fresh. The second time, I ordered tallarín saltado and it was just as delicious. My friend had arroz chaufa a lo macho on our first visit (so good and full of flavor!) and the second time she got tallarines a la huancaína con carne another tasty combo. The food was rich, authentic, and made with care. Peruvian food will always be my favorite, and this place reminded me why. The service was also wonderful the server was kind enough to give me a little extra chicha morada to take home. Great food. I got the bistec and tallarin which was good and plentiful. My wife got the lomo saltado which also has great flavor.

This place could be perfect if they change a few things. First change the atmosphere clean it more and get this place inspected so they know what to fix. The service wasn't terrible but i which they can care a little more about their guest. It's not all about just taking their orders and bringing food is more then that. They need to be friendly and actually interact and check up on their guest. But this is all the fault of the lack of leadership and management of this place, there is as arguing in front of their guest and had no respect, they need to be more respectful to their workers and do better to fix up this place so it can stay on. I like Peruvian food but this won't be a place to make it a regular visit, they need serious help so this place can be a regular spot to come. read more

Staff very nice. Musicians does not pay attention to their equipment. In three instances they dropped their instruments and other equipment in just a few minutes. The third time, they fell on my child!!!! A one year old boy! They apologized, but an apology doesn't do anything when my child was injured. Enough said, I did not get to even try the food I have ordered. The only reason I give two stars it's because our waitress was beyond sweet and nice. But they need to figure out how to accommodate their instruments. My son was not touching anything, we just literally stand up to get him out of the chair and I was carrying him in my arms when the instruments fell on us! This is a small Peruvian place in manassas located by the Yorkshire resteraunt.. most people know about Peruvian chicken but there is allot more to Peruvian food. Please go and try the tallerinas verde. It's wonderful steak with pasta. They have great ceviche too. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and somebody started banging the door really hard, i opened the door and it was one of the guys that works in the restaurant, he wanted to use the restroom, total lack of respect and consideration, and the worst part is that when I went to talked to the owner he justified the situation by saying that his guy wanted to go to the restroom even though I was in the restroom for no more than 3 minutes ... As noted there is a small menu. But everything on the menu was fantastic. We had a large group for dinner. Almost everyone ordered primarily from the happy hour menu. The portion sizes were large and prices were more than reasonably. Every member of the staff was so professional and helpful. The happy hour margaritas are a huge bargain. Some of the food here is ok. I've been here twice. One time the place was packed, no way to social distance. Oh and the wait to get your food is unbelievable!! They take an hour plus when they're busy, and sometimes they mess up your order. There's only two people of the staff that seem nice, the others very rude. And to be honest, there is a couple places where you can find better food in the DMV area, you just have to look for them. A dear friend took me here and walked me through the menu. I had beef heart for the first time it was fantastic. The serving are large and will leave you with extra. My friend asked for ceviche not so spice and it came out perfect for me but if you're sensitive it still has a bite to it. Where most places are a bit skimpy on the ceviche serving wise they did a big amount here. Price and level of food was great but the service is slower not bad enough to impact the overall quality but long enough wait times that you notice. So come be patient enjoy the good food. Value for dollar seems good not a steal but not expensive by any means for what you receive read more
