Honestly I liked the authentic experience of La Jarochita but I think this place was definitely overhyped to me. We drove out of our way to try this place and honestly it was a bit confusing to figure out where to order. There are two lines and it's not very clear which one we are supposed to get in for what. Especially because some of the items are duplicate on both menus. I noticed there was barely anyone in the "restaurant" line. Anyway, we sort of got a little bit of everything and wasn't completely brown away. I liked that they let you add your own toppings, and all of the sauces that have available were great. But the taco meats all sort of lacked a bit of flavor. Carnitas are my favorite but these were a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were very nice and juicy where others were hard to chew. Boyfriend and I went there and it was legit awesome. I had three different tacos and he had two tacos and a chicken quesadilla. Amazing flavors plus we got fountain Coke drinks (free refills- score!!). Also we got there right before 1pm on a Saturday and the crazy long line formed after we already got our food and sat down. Hands down the best tacos I've ever had! There are 3 different vendors inside, 2 serving authentic mexican food as well as a pasteleria (bakery). Went on a weekday for lunch & there were plenty of tables. Unfortunately, no salsa bar when we went, but they gave some containers with our order. Carnitas, al pastor, & barbacoa were excellent, but the must-order is the lengua (beef tongue). The meat is literally melt-in-your-mouth & so so tender. This is it... this is the spot for probably most authentic and satisfying tacos in Manassas and quite possibly Northern Virginia. The menu has many unique offerings that really sets it apart from any of the other great tacos places in NOVA. Similar to many places, they have the barbacoa and Al pastor, and even lengua tacos. What really sets this place apart is that they offer cabeza and Suadero which I haven't been able to find anywhere outside of Texas and Las Vegas. All of the meats are cooked and seasoned to perfection. The are super tender and are packed with flavor that provides the perfect bite. We honestly couldn't decide so we literally got everything. Although it was all tasty, I would highly recommend the cabeza, Suadero, and lengua. The cabeza meat is tender and paired with a crunchy skin. The Suadero is slow cooked and fatty provided a mouth watering bite and the lengua is well seasoned and cook. Honestly you can really go wrong but these specific tacos are the reason to go here. The staff is super friendly and efficient. Despite having customers out the door, they pump out orders quickly with no sacrifice to quality. They also have a well stocked salsa and side bar so you can top everything off to your hearts content. You can't really try any of the salsas but trust that it is delicious. Also recommend brushing up on your numbers in Spanish becasue they call all orders out in Spanish. It's been some months since I've come here. Their wonderful salsa bar doesn't seem to be out during weekday nights. It also wasn't that busy, so that may be why. Their prices have increased as well. I ordered the Cecina (soft jerky), Lengua (tongue), and Tripa (actually intestine) tacos which never disappoint....until now. The tacos didn't come with all of the ingredients usually available at the salsa bar, e.g., pineapple salsa. I expected a nice crunch with the Tripa, but both the Tripa and Cecina were overcooked to the point that it was hard to swallow some of the pieces! The Lengua was the only tender one. If their weekend offerings and quality still meet expectations, then I might just stick with going on the weekends. I also got the Flan de Vaso which seems to be gelatin with jello. If you order aguas frescas, make sure you move to that section and tell the lady what you got. There's people in the way & they will assume you're just waiting for food, so make sure you ask for your drinks. On the left side, you have the line for typical dishes ordering among other things. Next to it will be the add-ons counter; cilantro, salsas, onion, etc... DECOR: Veracruz in the house!!!-- beautiful murals, chairs and table are gorgeous! You have to definitely visit this place. Bathroom: Small, only 2 stalls and the toilets are like an arm away from the door so if you have a larger body you gotta use the first one that is a little bit more spacious. I used the second and I struggle to get in and out. Things I DIDNT like: - Tortilla used; it has a taste of its own that takes away from the meat seasoning or marinate. - Bathrooms-- not enough leg room. - Chair & table set up; not enough spam between tables. Located in a small shopping center so there is a lot of parking available however its popularity is bound to pack that place. I've heard really good things about this place for many years and have always wanted to go, but just never had the chance, until recently! I went around lunch time on a Tuesday and they weren't very busy, so I was able to order pretty quickly. I only speak English, but I've a "brown skin" person, so Spanish people always want to speak Spanish to me first, but when I replied in English, that wasn't a problem - I bring that up, because normally at authentic Mexican taquerías this normally is an issue. They make a large offer of proteins in any style of serving you want (Example: You can get Pollo in a taco, gordita, sopes, tortas, etc), so I got a pollo and an asada. They have a big bin of pico to scoop out once you get your food and that had the best, freshest flavor! Their green and red sauces were both very nicely done and both were spicy, with the red being very hot, but tasty. The pollo was excellent - Lots of great flavor, quite possibly one of the best pollo tacos I've had! The asada was dry and not flavored very well. The fresh lime I squeezed on top really helped to light it up, but it still needed more help, so I used lots of salsa. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. They have a large variety of meats to choose from from for tacos and zopes and huarches etc. but I can't give them the full five stars because their salsas are lacking any depth and flavor. And the meats could use some more seasoning. Second, they don't serve tables so it's a crazy free for all most days. So again, I can't give them the full five stars for ambiance. They do have a truck in the parking lot serves many of the dishes they serve on the inside if you don't want to go inside.
