*Reposting again since they want to delete the review* I was…read moreso excited to try this place because my sister recommended it to me. The food looked great on google reviews too. I called in my order 15 minutes ahead since it's only 3 minutes away from my job and I called it in since I only have a 30-minute lunch. Mind you this was all in Spanish. I had also asked if they took cards and she said Zelle. And when I got there the order was wrong, so I told her, and she asked if it'd still take the extra food that she messed up on the order, taking it as is and I said no because I know I'd have to pay for it, when that wasn't what I ordered, so she said okay ill fix the order. I proceeded to try to pay through Zelle that they had posted up on a white paper, then the lady told me no they only take cash. I didn't have any cash on me that was the whole purpose of asking if they took card. I told her I didn't have cash and she was like "Well you can't just leave this order here" and I said Well sorry I dont have cash I was trying to pay through the Zelle yall have posted. This worker that was doing something in the front rock area tells her "dont you have Zelle, you were just using zelle". And she was like "well I don't want to take zelle anymore". So, then I proceeded to walk away because this is too much during my little lunch time. So, I left the food there because she didn't want to take the Zelle and I had no time to go and get cash. After this happened I called my sister to see how she normally pays she said she always does Zelle, and she was just there 3 days ago. So, I'm not sure if it was because she had to remake the order, but overall, not a good experience. I was so excited and left disappointed. Not only that my coworker went over there 3 hours later on his own to see what they'd say and they literally told him they'll take Zelle since he didn't have cash.

One of my favorite El Salvadorian restaurants in Houston! It's a small, hole in the wall but those…read moreare the best in my opinion. It's ran by a couple and they treat you like family when you visit. These pictures are from my 4th....maybe 5th visit because I always devour the food before taking pictures. You can't go wrong with any of the pupusas here but don't come starving because they are made fresh to order so visit with some patience or order some appetizers. A major plus to Salvadoreno is that you get a jar of the spicy slaw that is traditionally served with pupusas and I've found a majority of El Salvadoran restaurants only give you a small side of it. I can eat it by itself and here I add piles of it on my pupusas. The slaw is light, tangy, spicy and refreshing all at the same time. The salsas are out of this world and perfect in my opinion. In this visit I got the corn tamal without cream and wished I would have gotten it with cream. However it was still great. If it a visit. If you don't know which pupusa to order then order the loca it's massive and amazing.

From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly grilled pupusas sets the tone for a comforting, delicious experience. Their pupusas revueltas are a must-try--perfectly crispy on the outside and generously filled with cheese, beans, and chicharrón. The curtido (pickled cabbage slaw) and house salsa complement each bite with just the right amount of tang and heat. Other standouts include the yuca frita con chicharrón and the pollo guisado, both of which taste like they came straight from a Salvadoran grandmother's kitchen. Portions are hearty, prices are fair, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Whether you're Salvadoran or new to the cuisine, this place is the real deal.
