Decadence is pita bread turned into a dessert, their Sweet Pita.

Update: regret to say that the chef we liked is no longer there and they discontinued our favorite Poikilia 1 appetizer sampler platter which was so wonderful. Let me know where that chef went and I'll go follow him to eat at his new location.

We were attracted to this place due to the high ratings on Yelp. This is a cozy Greek Restaurant with half a dozen small tables. It was almost full when we came here during lunch on a Friday. You order and pay up front. There's a number of sample dishes present to give an idea of what the food looks like. Note that they're only open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 8pm, and closed on Sundays and Mondays. There's a simple one-page menu. You could get 'Pitas' for $15.50 and 'Platters' for $18.50. Looking at photos from past menus, it looks like prices have gone up quite a bit, even since April this year. The owners were very nice and friendly. We ordered pitas. Each one comes with a side - you could choose between French fries, sweet potato fries and spinach rice. The pita itself is delicious, with the right amount of crunch. The portions are adequate.

If you want Greek and you are out in this area here is the best spot. My Gyros was outstanding. Lots of meat and very flavorful.

This is about as good as it will get in this area. Stopped in here for a bite while my buddies grabbed a snow cone next door, and I'm glad I did! I wanted just a little pita to go and was a little frustrated, because all the different pitas have their own name, but no description. Luckily the gal at the counter, who was training the new person on register, quickly ascertained what I needed and got it started. I let her know I'd be next door and she even offered to bring my food over. $13 and about ten minutes later, she handed my food directly as I stood inside Bahama Bucks. The food is fresh, the portions adequate, and it all plays nicely together. I, personally, love raw onion, and thus loved its fresh crunch it lends to the pita, but know that it has a LINGERING PRESENCE. All told, the to-go experience here is quick, friendly, and delicious. You won't go wrong.

Amazing people and delicious food!! The sweet pita hit the spot and can't get enough of all the flavors

Really good Greek food in the cyfair area. The Gyro was great and the food came out quick and was piping hot!! Also the owner was so kind and greeted my kids and checked on them. Above and beyond.

Portion was great, there's lots of gyro stuffed into my pita. Definitely made me full. The owner or manager on site was great, very friendly. He said he would bring me more fries since I got the remaining of a batch and my portion wasn't enough, but I denied since the gyro looked so filling. And it was! Flavor was excellent, I'd come back again. Very quick service too.

So ..... I forgot to put the bakers in the oven... so Gyros it is! Manny's in Copperfield has been closed for a while so we decided to try Simple Greek gyros in Cypress off Telge Rd. Which is UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Terry, the new owner, greeted me with a smile as I walked in. Looking around at his quaint little shop, it was hard not to smile. It was beautiful and clean. At the front there was a chalk board you could sign/doodle on. On the left side there was a small 5 table seating area, with what looked to be huge seaside silk like painting. The restrooms were in the back. On the right wall there was another huge silk like painting of a Greek column. The kitchen area was small and clean. For dinner we chose the traditional Zeus gyros, a blend of lamb/beef, lightly seasoned, lettuce, tomato, red onion and homemade tzatziki sauce, although there are a few others to choose from. We also got a Zeus gyro platter, that included a salad and side. The Greek salad we chose had romaine lettuce, fresh feta, Kalamata olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions topped with a little dolmade. The vinaigrette dressing was lite and flavorful. We chose the fries topped with fresh feta cheese and oregano, Greek style, as our side. I couldn't pass up the hummus, as it was also fresh made and delicious! Next time, I'm going to have to remember to get some baklava for MrM! As we chatted while our Togo order was made, I discovered Terry not only knows Manny but is long time friends with him! Not hard to believe after eating dinner. Although Terry took over about two months, the menu online, and even the sign above the entrance, have NOT been updated. They NO LONGER SERVE BURGERS, PIZZA, HOTDOGS OR WINGS. Now, it's SIMPLY GREEK food. They do have a pita grilled cheese and chicken fingers, served with fries, on the kids menu.

OH MY GOODNIGHT!!!!! This place is amazing. My mom and sister came here about a month ago and told me all about it. So excited I finally got to try it. The food is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is so relaxing. I will definitely be back. We drove from north of college station and it is worth the 2 1/2 hour drive. The owner, Terry is so friendly and inviting. If you have not been definitely go.

Gyros were fresh and hot. Servings are generous. Desserts look good, but we were too full to try. Maybe next time, we'll get desserts to go.

First, let's talk about the service which is extremely efficient you order at the counter and the weight staff brings out your meal shortly thereafter. The ambience is very plain like a diner very simple but very clean and so if you wanna grab some wonderful Greek food especially a Gyro you'll find no place better at least on the west side of town. The salads are wonderful of which I had a Greek why not I'm in a Greek restaurant but it was chalk full of wonderful, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, and had a great dressing. In addition, I had a Gyro, which I really didn't even eat until later that day because the salad alone was filling. The owner happen to be in on this particular day as he often is in his restaurant. What a pleasant man we discussed what was going on in our community and then what his experience was in Michigan. He's always a delight to speak to. I would highly highly recommend Papa gyros..

I stopped in before an open house nearby, and it ended up being such a highlight of my day. The moment you walk in, it feels like a true family-owned Greek diner--unpretentious, warm, and inviting. Chris, the owner, welcomed me with a big smile and took the time to walk me through the specials, which says a lot about the pride and care behind this place. I ordered the gyro combo and it was next-level. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, stuffed generously with all the classic gyro essentials, and wrapped in warm, soft pita. Every bite was balanced and satisfying. The fries were fresh, hot, and flavorful--not an afterthought at all. And the baklava? Flaky, sweet, and rich without being overpowering--absolutely delicious. Don't skip the house hot sauce--it adds the perfect kick and takes the gyro to another level. This is exactly the kind of locally owned business that makes a neighborhood special. Incredible food, genuine hospitality, and the kind of place you confidently recommend to clients, friends, and anyone who wants to experience the area like a local. I'll definitely be back.

Very homey and family-oriented. My favorites are the gyro plate with salad and basmati rice. For anyone who loves hummus, I recommend branching out and trying the muhammara. Roasted red pepper, garlic, pomegranate molasses, walnuts...it's a hidden gem, I don't even know how those flavors work together. The halloumi cheese is good; it tastes just like a mozzarella stick without the breading, my go to low carb option. On the flip side the rice pudding was a miss for me. The rice was al dente and the pudding itself lacked flavor. The beef shawarma had decent seasoning but came out dry and chewy. What I appreciate about Zara's is the variety. There's a wide selection of dishes, so there's something for everyone, and the drink menu is just as extensive. They don't serve alcohol, but the mocktail section is worth a try. If you're into hookah, they offer that as well. My biggest gripe is consistency. When the food is good, it's really good but there are times it feels like it's been reheated, and that's disappointing. When I first found this place, it was always spot on. Lately, not as much. Cleanliness is another concern. My husband once spotted a roach by his side. One roach wouldn't normally bother me..it happens..but after reading several similar reviews, it makes me question the cleanliness. All in all, Zara's is a great low-key neighborhood spot but not everything on the menu is a winner. I never had a problem with the service, and when there was something wrong they're more than willing to accommodate you and rectify the situation.
