A friend brought me some pupusas from this place and I was immediately a fan! I've tried pupusas from all over Katy and nothing beats this place. Today was my first time coming to restaurant and the customer service was really nice and friendly. Also, the fruit juice is amazing....ensalada de grits.

I have been coming here for years. My favorite pupusas in the Katy area. I have not tried anything else on the menu. Service is super nice but the wait time can be a little long. The pupusas are always hot and FRESH! Prices are a little high but overall for the freshness I still come back.

I've had papusas before but these were by far the best yet. Definitely recommend the trio and the yuca with chocaron platter. I shared with my boyfriend and I got the bean and cheese papusa.

DE-LI-CIOUS!!! Authentic pupusas filled to perfection with flavorful ingredients. The best part is that they are made at just the right thickness and they don't skim on the filling. Just the perfect pupusa to satisfy the craving! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It's the perfect restaurant that offers delicious food and service with a smile. Must try, for sure! Local Salvadoreños know this is the spot and they shared with us that this is the spot to go!

Really tasty pupusas and good quality, but the price is surprisingly high at $4.20 each. Just something to be aware of before ordering.

We got some bean and cheese pupusas which were good with the sauce and curtido - pickled vegetables. We also had the camarones a la diabla which is a shrimp dish simmered in a chipotle sauce. It was a bit disappointing - not spicy at all. The food overall was a bit bland and could use more salt. It was kind of hot during the first half of the meal in the restaurant and they were playing awkward church type music which is not the vibe for when I'm eating dinner at a restaurant. The food was okay but I would not go back.

I tried the pupusas de frijol y queso, and they were very good--the tortillas were nicely toasted, which I personally enjoy. The curtido came in a small scoop (for 1 popusa); unlike most Salvadoran restaurants, they don't offer self-serve curtido, and I'm not sure if they would charge extra for more. The tamal de pollo was okay. The masa was a bit dry but had good flavor. I also tried the ensalada drink, which wasn't what I expected--it usually has agua de marañon, but this one was made with watermelon juice instead. Still, it was refreshing. Customer service was excellent, and I appreciated the easy QR code payment option. The restaurant has a modern atmosphere and plays Christian music throughout the day. They also offer Mexican dishes, which I haven't tried yet, but I might on my next visit. Overall, I would recommend El Sol and would definitely come again for more Salvadoran food!

I'm not sure if management has changed or what has happened, but there is definitely a noticeable difference in both the quality and service. I completely understand that the economy has changed and the cost of everything has gone up, so I don't mind paying higher prices when the quality and experience match. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case here lately. The prices have increased, but the quality of the food and level of service don't seem to reflect what you're paying. I really hope they can get back to what made this place so good before. I've enjoyed coming here in the past and would love to see Alicia's Bakery become that great local spot again.

The pupusa salsa is fire the curtido (cabbage) lacks a little flavor and seasoning but salsa makes up for it! The pollo frito and tajadas was authentic flavor fully cooked like my Honduran sister law cooked it.. we will definitely order again and visit in person soon, they also have bakery side which is a plus. The tamale de pollo was also delicious it was moist tasty service was really good as to the communication with restaurant and the packaging was very neat and attentive.
