Yesterday our late lunch -- after 2:00 PM -- gave us a chance to catch up over amazing food and with exceptional service. Yaime suggested a couple items for our party and took care to ask about options available to us. I always chuckle when she asks if I want the Aguagate Relleno with pork and a side of tomatillo sauce--she knows I do. Today, three of our four entrees came out together. After apologizing for the delay of the fourth, Yamie showed her attentiveness by refreshing our drinks. I could not think of a better late lunch.

Went here for the first time with coworkers, the food was very good! We shared the mango bbq and jerk wings- the magi bbq was my personal favorite of the two. Myself and two others ordered the soup which was delicious! I appreciate that the cilantro was served on the side. I then had the black bean salad with steak. The passionfruit vinaigrette was a delight. We shared the fried cheesecake and Argentine cookie dessert both were so delicious. Will definitely be returning

Stopped in for dinner at 5pm on a Monday so it wasn't busy. The interior was cute and tropical. I ordered the mofongo. I wanted to get it with the pork but they didn't have it so I went with the shrimp. It was my first time trying mofongo so I didn't know what to expect but it was very tasty. Loved the presentation and there was also a good amount of food. Service was good and our waitress was very nice.

So happy we tried this place. Delicious terrific Latin American Food. We ordered the skirt steaks and roast pork. So yummy! I had chimichurri on the steak and it was the perfect complement. The "amarillos " or sweet plantains were also delicious. If we lived in Milwaukee would eat here often.

We stopped here on a Sunday evening. We had never been here before. The atmosphere was lovely. I felt like I was in San Juan. I ordered the "Gambas" which was really tasty - shrimp in a butter sauce, mashed potatoes in the middle and crisp-tender broccoli. I loved every bite! We had the empanadas as well. They were pretty big and deep fried and stuffed with lots of meat. The pastry held up and had a decent flavor. They had some unique things on the menu, good for a change of pace. Tony had the Pernil with tostones and rice and I got to sample it. It was pretty good as well. Service was polite, but super slow. I think they forgot about us.

I visited today on a beautiful Friday afternoon after peak lunch time hours and was happy to see they were open and not crowded. I was greeted at the door by the owner Jesse Fonseca, who said his business had been here for six years. It was nice to hear some Romeo Santos and other good music while eating. I had a wonderful cup of the Pozole Soup and was amazed by the quality of the soup with actual real fresh chicken meat that was shredded and not cubed or processed. For my lunch I had the Pernil with Gandules and the portion of the food for the price was excellent. I'm generally a big eater but needed to ask for a box. My wife is from the Dominican Republic and I get spoiled with great food. I'll definitely be bringing her here for not just the food but for the Bachata music and dancing they have on weekend nights.

On a cold blizzardy new years day, with our first choice of restaurant closed, a friend and I ambled across a snowy KK towards the beckoning open sign in sabors window. The menu & the vibrant decor, Latin American (cuban, Puerto Rican) Although a complete contrast to what was going on outside were welcome and inviting. The menu was huge! It was hard to make up my mind but I had what sounded pretty standard - a grilled chicken breast. You got to choose your side and topping though, so I chose the mango-avocado-corn topping which was excellent. They had alot of interesting sides (different rices, etc) but I went with the Mofongo. If you've not had this garlicky, delicious ball of mashed plantain goodness this would be a great introduction. My friend had the ropa Vieja and declared it excellent. We both had extra to take with us. We noticed people coming in for take out. There was so much on the menu id love to come back and try more. Although this wasn't our first choice originally, it wound up being a great diversion.

We went here for dinner and drinks. The drinks were fantastic. I had a mojito that was done very well, not too sweet and then had a margarita that tasted like it had fresh mango juice in it instead of thick sweetners. I ordered the aguacate relleno with steak which was good but I would have called the meat ground beef. My husband ordered the grouper mofongo and when it came they apologized that they didn't have lobster so it was fish and they charged us for fish, which was confusing because fish is what he ordered. The staff was very nice and the waitress was helpful with suggestions. The restaurants a little darker from the outside but the walls are brightly colored with murals and artwork around so it doesn't feel too dark inside. Overall a great little place in bay view.

Was in Puerto Rico a few years ago. I have discovered this delicious dish called mofongo and gorged on it so much that I got vexed with it after a few days. I didn't even want to see it again. It has been a few years since then, wanted to get reacquainted with the deep fried plantains dish, so ordered mofongo from this place. It has not been the same addicting experience as in Puerto Rico, but it was decent. Satisfied my cravings well. Their flan de nutela is interesting and it was delicious.

This is my first time coming to this place and the ambience is to die for! Walking in, you immediately step foot into a tropical paradise with nice esthetics and cute decorations. I ordered a Hennesy Mojito and the bartender Cydney made it to perfection. It surpassed my expectations and taste just as good as it looks!

I was sad that Riviera Maya moved out of this space but I like what they did with it. Everything at this restaurant was mouth-wateringly delicious. I came for the tostones but I'll be back for.. well, everything. We came with friends visiting from the Dominican Republic and they also thoroughly enjoyed everything so I can say that the food is authentic. I especially loved the plantain chips and salsa they brought for the table, and the passion fruit juice! Food: Jibarito Sandwich. I love all things plantain. This was excellent. Not dry, not too greasy. And the portion was huge! I only finished half. You have to get the Tostones Rellenos for appetizers (get two orders, trust me you will eat them all). Mofongo Rellenos- this is what our Dominican friend got and he was blown away by it. I love that we are representing some of the Caribbean culture here in Milwaukee.

Great place for Caribbean food. The restaurant is very clean, and in a very good location. The service was excellent, and the food was pretty good. It is definitely a good choice in the Milwaukee area.

The place is huge and seems lively. We went there for brunch and got a few appetizers. We really enjoyed Tostones Rellenos. I thought it was so interesting and super delicious. The ceviche was good but the portion was pretty small. All of their dishes had pretty good presentation. I appreciate the chief and staff taking the time to ensure the dishes look beautiful. We also got empanadas as well. It was good but not mind blowing. Overall, it was a great experience.

No…read morefood is off limits for me so I like it all and I really like Puerto Rican food because it's a different style of comfort food compared to us comfort food. The place is small and the waitress didn't speak any English so a nice patron came to my rescue and translated my order, he asked me if I wanted everything on my sandwich and I said yes the was it's supposed to be and don't dumb it down for the Caucasian because I came here for the real deal food. I ordered the Tripleta sandwich with Puerto Rican rice. The Tripleta sandwich is roast pork, steak, ham, ketchmayo, cheese, lettuce and tomato on a roll of some sort. This $10 sandwich is a monster by the way. My first impression is all I taste is pork which I fine because it's good so I open the sandwich and all I see pork with a razor thin random ham piece and no steak at all. Regardless the sandwich was fu#king delicious piled/overflowing with tender pork. The hoagie roll was a great bakery artisan style French bread with a nice thin chewy crust, like my last review the bread really makes or breaks a good sandwich and they nailed this one. The Puerto Rican rice was also fu#king delicious, seasoned nicely and cooked perfectly just past Al dente but far from mush. I eat at so many restaurants and my memory gets hazy over the years but I really think that this was the best Puerto Rican restaurant I have been to and also it's probably what I ordered ala carte vs an entree on the menu.

This Puerto Rican style restaurant is closed. Considered trying it. Searched website to preview…read moremenu and it is no longer open.

A I really love getting into the off beat neighborhoods and trying the little neighborhood places…read morelike today. I stumbled on this Puerto Rican place and I wanted to try it because I don't really see true Puerto Rican places at all come to think of it. I have not had Puerto Rican food since I was a boy eating at my friends house and I can only remember that rice was always on the dish. The place is across from the El Ray food store on 13th St with plenty of street parking. The neighborhood looks a little worse for wear but that is where you can find some of the best ethnic/real food. If there is such a thing as Puerto Rican dive than this place is it with all the artificial trees and roosters all over the place. There is plenty of old green booths and tables on old linoleum floors. Up front is a hot table with empanadas, blood sausage, pork, plantains etc. The older man and woman were very helpful in assisting me with picking out a dish that would be a good representation of Puerto Rican food. The menu has so much that I really don't know what it all was but I probably would have liked all of it no matter what I chose. I chose the Bistec enpanado which is thin breaded steak, Puerto Rican rice and fried plantains with a side of ground beef and cheese empanada. When the plate hit the table it smelled amazing and was plentiful so there would be left overs to relive my lunch again. For the first time I liked the plantains because they were not hard but fried with the texture of a thick slice of cheese. The rice had great texture/flavor and was fluffy with individual grains, no sticky mushy rice here. The breaded steak was very tasty but I can't nail down the flavor profile which bugged me. The empanadas was crispy/golden tasty but they were skimpy on the ground beef and cheese filling because 3/4 of the inside was air, see my pictures. I really liked all the flavors from the dish but I think the nicely seasoned ground beef and cheese empanada was my favorite with the crispy golden she'll. Overall for my first real adult experience with authentic Puerto Rican food I liked it even though the style is not super flavorful with bold tastes or flavors/spices. I would definitely like to get back and try some more of the menu, maybe the roast pork or the cubano sandwich.

Love this place.. Never a bad meal or experience! The hot case is a great go to for a snackread more
