I went here for lunch today. Parking was easy right in front of the place. I walked in and didn't if I could sit anywhere so I stood at the door. After looking around I could see four women and none of them would acknowledge me standing there. After five minutes a woman tried to walk past me and I said excuse me can I sit any where and she had to get another woman to help me. Are they serious or am I invisible. After getting seated I was given chips and salsa and a menu. I posted pictures of the menu. The menu is very large and is a lot to take in. I ordered the Sesena dinner and realized my server never offered me any water so I had to asked for a glass of water. The food came in like four minutes, I just finished my fourth chip and the food was there. The chips and salsa were good and I would have liked the salsa a little chunkier. The main dish looked amazing, see the pictures. I took a taste of all the food before I started building tortillas. The steak was not seasoned and bland. The beans were bland also. I started building my corn tortillas with all the goodies and realized the salsa was better than the hot sauce. They don't give a lot of beans, just enough for a light spread for three tortillas and it's gone. When I was done I asked for a box for the left overs and to let my server know I was ready to leave, ten minutes later still no check. By the way the place had only four tables in service. Luckily the booth behind me came to life so I asked for the check while she walked past and she said in a minute. She came back to the booth behind me a second time and still no check WTF. The meal was just under $10. Overall the food was average and nothing wowed me at all. There are better Mexican places in Milwaukee. The service was horrible over all and I spent more time waiting for service than the time I spent eating. This is the chance you take when trying a new place when known great places exist.

Chicken Chimichanga with a side of Rice and beans

Came here for lunch with co-workers for authentic Mexican cuisine. I was first introduced to them by my colleague a few years ago. She brought our team some of the best fresh and delicious tasting soft shell steak tacos :) they were fresh, seasoned well, and fulfilling. Lunch time was pretty laid back. We had about 6 ppl in our group. I decided to order the vegetarian tacos which included avocado, nopales (cactus), lettuce, cheese, salsa, etc.. It isn't on the menu, but they let me make my own vegetarian taco based off my food restrictions at the time. The tacos were absolutely delish, crunchy, seasoned well. I almost didn't miss not having meat.. definitely would order again, another colleague decided to order, the chicken Chimichanga with rice and beans. He said it was super fulfilling with lots of chicken and it was seasoned well. Prices were very reasonable. El Local is a hidden gem if you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine with cheap to moderate prices for their lunch and entree specials. I will definitely be back in the near future!!!!

    Siete Mares soup.

Here you'll find tasty food prepared with care and excellent service. The Siete Mares soup is huge! It's enough for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (+for your friends to try). My companions love seafood and they enjoyed the huge chunks of seafood in the soup. The tacos are lovely. Tripa, chorizo, and al Pastor were the favorites of the five we tried. Served as they should be, with cilantro, onion, and lime. Oh! The salsa served with the chips is packed with flavor. I had to get two bowls! Parking is a breeze with lots of street parking available. A good choice for authentic Mexican food in Milwaukee!

The best restaurant in Nosara in a sea of great places to eat. The Risotto was exquisite! The curry chicken salad was also delicious.

I made reservations…read moreat 7pm and was quickly seated, or server Inga was very patient and made a few suggestions for us as well. We started with the pink Guava Paloma and the Schilling Local Legends for our drinks. The Pink Guava Paloma tasting amazing and was strong. You were really able to taste the tequila but it wasn't un-drinkable. The Guava was a great blend with the drink and my friend wished he had gotten the same drink because of how good it tasted. The menu was divided up into three different sections; Field, Sea, and Pasture. They also had specials, as well. We tried to get a few items from each section to try different dishes. In the Field section, we tried the Truffle Potato Skins (WI). The potatoes skins were PILED onto the plate. They were more soft than crunchy but tasted amazing. I wasn't really able to taste the truffle but it was still good. In the Sea section, we tried the Sambal Goreng Udang (Indonesia). An Indonesian dish with white shrimp, sambal chili paste, mash potatoes, and coconut milk. Honestly, this was my favorite dish. It was creamy and the mashed potatoes paired so well with the sauce and the shrimp. It had a hint of spice, which elevated the experience for me personally, as I love spicy food. In the Pasture section, we tried the Beef Empanadas (Columbia) and Vietnamese Pork Belly Crepes (Vietnam). The Beef Empanadas came with four pieces and some green sauce. The outside was crunchy and not over fried, the inside was perfectly filled and moist. Would highly recommend it as it was amazing. The Vietnamese Pork Belly Crepes were a little disappointing. I was expecting them to come out like the traditional Vietnamese crepes, crispy outside with the pork belly and other fillings on the inside. Instead it was like an actual crepe mix. It was soft and honestly okay. It wasn't our favorite. As for the specials they were offering, we tried the Pork Tenderloin. The Pork Tenderloin was pretty good, not super dry. It was served on top of potatoes and tasted amazing. La Merenda has a very cozy atmosphere. Low lights and overall just a chill and quaint spot. I will definitely come back for more of the Sambal Goreng Udang and to try out some of their other plates!

We got the truffle Potato Skins it was more like chips but softer than chips with a truffle oil and parm. This didn't have a super truffle flavor in my opinion but still good. The ceviche which was my favorite had ahi tuna, coconut milk, red bell peppers, and diced pineapple I love the sweet aspect of this. We also got the empanadas and mushroom tostadas both were great. The Gnocchi d'Autunno we got was like a nice hug it was such a warm dish in the way you want a warm comfort meal on a cold day. The butter chicken and Argentina style beef we also tried I liked the butter chicken more just because I wish the beef had more chimichurri. I definitely will take friends in the future. There is a dish for everyone here.

They were the supplier of the Pupusas for the first ever "Pupusa Festival" in Milwaukee at Kochansky's Concertina Bar. They had 3 selections: Frijole (Refried Beans), Queso (Cheese), and Revuelta (Bean, Cheese, and Pork). I remember the first time that I had tried Pupusas for the first time at El Salvador Restaurant. I was hanging out with some friends (some were from El Salvador) after we performed the La Rueda in the parade. They wanted me to try this restaurant since I had never had food from El Salvador. I had the Revuelta, which was filled with beans, queso, and steak and they were so delicious! However, this time at the food truck, the toppings were a bit different. The Cabbage and Salsa had some kick to it and were marinated in some kind of liquid. I'm not sure what it was, but I definitely enjoyed this difference. They had some Specialty Pupusas, but they didn't get around to making them because the crowd was very large and they wanted to supply the regular Pupusas first before selling the Specialty ones. I'll definitely try them when I see this food truck again. Overall, I enjoyed my Pupusas and will definitely eat at this food truck again to try some of their other Pupusa varieties!

We went for the Friday fish fry because we wanted something different. The only downside is that the buffet was the only available option. The options were plentiful and I really enjoyed how they prepared the fried cod. The breading was thin and had great flavor and was not bland. I think I got four pieces of fish! The rest of the buffet had some healthy options. There was as vegetable medley and rice, etc. You didn't feel like you were eating only fried things. They also had baked fish option but I didn't get to try it but my friends loved it! I definitely will be back for the fish fry buffet but want to try out their other options as well.

They are one of many delightful food truck options at Zocalo, but this is the one I find myself coming back to over and over again. If you haven't tried one, an arepa is similar to a taco, except that instead of a tortilla, the delicious filling is sandwiched into a soft corn pancake (making arepas a tasty gluten-free food!). My favorite option is the veggie arepa, although they have several meat options as well. No matter what you decide on, make sure you add the fried plantains to your order. The slight sweetness of the plantain is absolutely perfect with the savory flavors of the arepa. My favorite salsa is the avocado salsa. It is not particularly spicy, but the flavor of it is just out of this world. I wish they sold bottles of it so I could put it on everything! The staff at Anytime Arepa is very friendly and the food comes out quickly - usually 10 minutes or less.
