One star because of the awful experience at Teocalli in Lafayette. It's a very noisy place, but we…read moredecided to try it anyway, which turned out to be a mistake. My friend ordered an enchilada, and I ordered the carne asada. The place was half empty, so it was strange that our food took more than 30 minutes to arrive after we ordered. They had only a few servers working, and the fact that we only saw our waiter run by once or twice in that 30-minute wait for our food was not helpful. As time passed, I looked for wait staff to ask about my food, but I couldn't find any as none passed our way. The food was dropped at the table, and I got the impression that they were kitchen staff who dropped the plates and quickly ran off. My first impression of the food was shock, thinking, "They charge $25 for that tiny plate? You gotta be kidding me." The presentation was okay, but as you can see from the pic, the overpriced meal only covered a tiny portion of the undersized plate. It left a lot to be desired. Since our waiter was nowhere in sight, I had to go up to the bar to ask for salt. With my first bite, I found the potatoes cold, possibly because my food had been sitting around for quite some time. Sadly, after cutting into my supposed-to-be-medium-and-pink carne asada, it was cooked dry to shoe leather and inedible. It was disgusting. I grabbed a passing waiter and asked him to send my waiter over. He offered to help me, so I explained to him that this was disgusting and not what I ordered. He did offer to make me a new one, but after waiting 30+ minutes for my food and being served this, I lost my appetite. Yes, they took it off the bill, but still charged $3 for a Coke. Real classy. I enjoy fine dining and excellent cuisine, but to call this fine dining would be an insult to fine dining. Do better, Teocalli

It was a beautiful Colorado afternoon, so we decided to dine on the outdoor patio. The staff was quick to let us know of their happy hour that was about to end, so we quickly ordered as that is a great way try a variety of items. The chips and guacamole came with salsa and was half price at $5.00, as was the Flautus at $6.00. The chips were good, fresh, and the Barbacoa flautus was awesome. We order street tacos at $4.00 each, they were packed with meat and came with a variety of sauce choices. The beans and rice were just okay, not bad, but not great. The only drawback from our experience is there were lots of kids running around and playing loudly. We wanted some peace and quiet, but it is what it is. kids will be kids, and I guess these days, so will their parents. We were both stuffed and happily full, and the tab was on $32.00. We will be back to try some of their other dishes.

I recently visited Azul Fuego and overall had a fine experience. It's a cute spot with two dining…read morerooms and a bar area -- we chose to sit at the bar. The space has a lively feel, though the lighting is very bright, which may not be everyone's vibe. I ordered a house margarita, which was a little too sweet for my taste. I was told the perfect margarita is the way to go, so if I return, I'll definitely try that instead. We also ordered the molcajete. The flavor was good overall, but the steak and chicken weren't cut up beforehand, so we had to slice everything ourselves. Because the bowl is served very hot (as expected with a molcajete), it made it tricky to mix everything together and really get all the sauce and flavors from the bottom onto the meat once it was cut. Service was fine while we were there. However, when we asked for a box to take food home, someone other than our server brought it. Before we left, the food started seeping through the container, and we had to ask for a new box and bag. Overall, it's a cute place and the experience was okay, but there were a few small things that kept it from being great.
