My meal was presented well, but it was lukewarm. The beans and rice were lukewarm and so was the taco. I brought the taco back to the kitchen and the warmed it up for me. Not sure if I will return. read more

Unfortunately the prices have gotten way too high for what it is. Understandably rampant inflation has caused some price increase but Sancho's has taken it to another level. We come here often and will continue to do so due to its proximity and limited mexican food in gunbarrel. + Caldo de res (to go) This hot bowl of soup was exactly what the Dr prescribed. Well if anything it's just what I needed to help me through this terrible cold. My senses have been MIA this past week. The $12 delivery fee was painful no doubt, but the dish was so worth it. It's served in a plastic Tupperware which did spill over, no biggie, but traveled mostly well. The meat was soft, but more tough than I'd prefer. All in all this soup was well balanced with veggie and meat. Suffice it to say, I loved it more so cause I can taste it. Win! This dish also came with a side of rice and some classic toppings (onions, cilantro and lime). Got recommended this place for their tacos and burritos and I've gotta say it's the most authentic I've had anywhere near the city of boulder. Oh man, I'm hesitant to post a review on here because my greedy self doesn't want to tell everyone about this place and keep it all for myself! Ha! Sanchos is AMAZING. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. My husband and I consistently order to-go at least once a week and have seriously not had one thing we didn't absolutely love! On the surface, this place seems nice enough and has several types of tacos and salsa, and has some good combinations. The staff are friendly. My main problem with them is that the portions are stingy and some of the staples just seem unimaginative. Almost everything is on the small side...not much rice or beans. More notably, the tacos are the smallest I've ever seen; the tortillas are about 4" in diameter. Come on you guys! This is not an expensive item. We can walk over to King Soopers and buy a 30 pack of 6" round ones for about $2.50. You can probably buy them for less. So why are you skimping so much on that? And why on earth can't you offer something other than basic refried beans? How about pinto beans or black beans? I really want to like this place but just think for the price there are better choices out there. read more

I have ordered so many times from this place its now automatically listed itself under "favorites" on doordash. I first discovered Sanchos a few years ago. As soon as I saw Gorditas on their menu I was all over it. We love all their Gorditas. The vegetarian ones are modestly plain without the salsas. I really love the two smothered burritos they offer. Their spicy chili sauce and spicy aguacado sauce are SO good. As a vegetarian I love having a few options but mostly choose the potatoes filling. The fact that they have a potato filling option is one of the draws to this place over and over for me. My only negative feedback during 2020 was that they are incredibly stingy and super ungenerous in including ANY of their homemade salsas that you usually get for free from the salsa bar. Since we cannot dine in and there is NO way to order them you basically never get them. I have tried writing notes in doordash requesting them in English and Spanish and 8/10 times will NOT get them. It actually made me stop ordering from them more this year since Taco Palace is the opposite and over generous with their red and green salsas in the bag. I finally had to call a few times (tho they don't always answer the phone) and personally request it. But it was awkward and not fun. If they could fix that issue I would give them 5 stars for sure. read more

I don't normally like to write negative reviews, but I went to this place over the weekend based on the 5 star ratings and I can't say I agree. I'd give 5 stars for plenty of outdoor seating and no wait- we were actually some of the only people there on a sunny mid-afternoon compared to a 3 hour wait supposedly over at Avery Brewing. As a bunch of hangry people post-hike with a dog, the lack of wait was pretty clutch, but I got a chimichanga and it was nothing to write home about. In fact, despite being super hungry, I barely managed to eat half of it. The service was mixed, too- yes, it came out quickly, but sometimes it seemed like they didn't even care/notice we were there. Maybe we went there on an off day, but food/service were not 5 star worthy to me. Oh also even if you eat outside, you have to order/pay individually inside. That's a perk for anyone who would normally need to split a bill but just FYI if you are being especially COVID cautious. read more

I've eaten at Sancho's for years now. Their quality of food has remained excellent but it's the fluctuation of the pricing of the food that has been an issue with me. I realize businesses need to be profitable and with the increase of pay to their employees but it always felt like the menu pricing was getting more expensive every other month or so. It got to the point that a lunch would cost over $14 (enchilada plate with Mexican Coca-Cola) which once cost $9 when they opened their location. This was even before COVID-19 and the ridiculous inflation that we are experiencing now. They've pretty much out priced themselves from the value lunch market which is the most profitable time in this neighborhood. read more

Cash place only as of my last visit. This was a big turnoff, but luckily I had a little cash! I'm pretty fond of sanchos, as there's a sanchos truck that comes by my office park. Generally, the tacos from the truck have always been spot on - simple ingredients that taste great, along with the wonderful cremosa sauce. I came to their boulder location for lunch. I got the chimichanga, as that's all I could afford at the time because of the cash only rule. It's weird because both the truck and the Gunbarrel location accept card, but I digress. But I digress. I got the chimichanga dry and compensated with their sauces! They have 6 sauces, most of them have similar flavor profiles. HOWEVER, the green cremosa sauce is very good. Creamy with just the right amount of spice. The chimichanga was actually outstanding. I find it hard to screw up a chimichanga, but this one is better than the average chimichanga. Flaky crust, moist fillings with a side scoop of guac and sour creams I really liked it. Overall pretty heavy choice, but satisfied with the outcome. The payment methods really annoyed me, but you can't overlook the food here. It's great. read more

Had a couple issues here tonight: Waiter was just socially awkward which is okay (because i am too) but didn't seem to know the menu very well. He gave us spoons to eat our tacos because they were out of clean forks, which was a little concerning. Pretty loud, but I will blame that on the weather bc the rain brought everyone inside. Hey Gunbarrel! Let's not forget about Sanchos during COVID 19. The outdoor patio is A+, super sunny and warm, even on cold days. So put your snow clothes on and enjoy some amazing Mexican fare in our neighborhood. Have you tried the Caldo de Siete Mares? It's pretty much the best seafood stew you'll ever put your lips to, pretty perfect for a winter day. Oh and everyone knows the Tacos and salsas here are fabulous but my husband tried the burger recently and it was pretty much amazing. Did I mention they have Margs too? Keep Sanchos booming! We got a takeout from this place today. I had a little extra veggies to order for my kids quesadilla, hence I thought I'll place the order over the phone .. while we liked the food - the lady on the phone was quite in a hurry, and not really wanting to listen or confirm the order even... also because she was in hurry - there was a misunderstanding in our order .. I ordered an aguacado burrito - which I didn't have to specifically ask to be smothered, because the item in the menu says "smothered aguacado burrito - so smothered by default - which is great ! Also, I ordered a Sancho burrito- which didn't come smothered bcoz I didn't mention ... And there is no item in the menu which says only "sancho burrito" , the item in the menu says "smothered sancho burrito" - so I don't know why they missed it ... But at least i know now that I should specifically ask for that .. The kids quesadilla- was asked to be made in corn tortillas, but they made it in flour tortillas. They did add the veggies as asked - so thankful abt that ! I really wish the lady took a little more time to understand what is being asked, and confirm the menu with a good pace and not rush us into feeling as if we are really wasting their time - may be these misunderstandings could be avoided The food was great - hence the 3 stars read more
