I really wanted to like Sabrosa but unfortunately I found it overall to be pretty disappointing. We stopped in today for a quick bite before checking out the Crompton Collective. I like to try a variety of food and decided to try this place. I want to make it abundantly clear that this three star review has NOTHING to do with the service. The young man who cashed us out was incredibly kind, understanding, and explained every aspect of the food. He even offered to let us try a free empanada. Their service was 5 stars worthy. The food was not. I had the bowl and my significant other had the chicken arepa. He said the arepa itself taste good but was small for the price. My bowl was just okay. The rice was bland with some hard pieces, plantains were mushy, and the beef was a little stringy and I felt it was pretty bland as well. The black beans were the best thing in the bowl. My dish was warm at best. I'm disappointed to write such a low review because I wanted to like Sabrosa but ultimately I should have tried any of the other dozen options for lunch in the market. read more

I went back after the first time and I have to say this time food was even better than the first time. Portions are good and service is friendly and fast. I also got other Venezuelan items including the 3 leches cake (3 milks cake) and quesillo (Venezuelan flan). Not a bad experience. The atmosphere was comfortable and the staff were helpful when i had a questions about the menu.

I want to like this place more, but I can't. For what you're paying for really don't get enough. Black beans in an arepa w/ a piece of maduro (plantain) doesn't constitute what they're charging. To make it even worse, the extra charge for avocado is $2, for some cut-up pieces. No, not worth it. Such a shame as it's tasty yet super messy. read more

Tried the food truck for a festival event I attended. Ordered the beef and cheese and the chicken and cheese cachapas and both were on point! Great flavors and not dry. The passionfruit juice was good too, not overly sweet as I was expecting from others I've experienced. The green sauce was a good flavor to tie the cachapa together. We did order a plantain and cheese item which we didn't finish. We could have did without it. Was pretty expensive: 2 cachapas, 1 plantain item, 2 juices and a water cost $66 from the food truck. read more

this review is for the food truck version of this establishment. they had a wide variety of arepas and they were flavored quite well. i got the arepa with beef, black beans, cheese, and plantains. i asked for my plantains on the side and they teased me about it lol but i just want my sweet and savory separate on that day. i also wish my cheese was melted from the heat of the beans and meat but it wasn't really. the price was pretty steep. for two arepas it was about $30 total and it prompts you to tip the establishment. my friend got the chicken mayo and avocado one which tasted like tuna salad to her. she does like tuna salad tho. the garlic sauce was really good but the dispenser was not working properly and it splattered onto my clothes and they just kind of watched me struggle with it. they were kind but disorganized. read more

I got stuck in a terrible downpour/tornado watch yesterday and ran into the Worcester market. I thought I might as well eat, so I tried the Pabellon empanada: beef, cheese, plantains and black beans. They serve it with yummy homemade garlic sauce. It's ridiculously good, and it's six dollars. I was in the neighborhood again today with no tornado watch, and I had to go in and get some more. I'm no expert on Venezuelan food, but I can say that the Pabellon Arepa I tried here was delicious! It was really flavorful and filling. The counter server was helpful answering questions. My only complaint was that I wanted a rice dish, but after watching her serve the dish to two people in front of me, she then told me they were out (it was dinner time, you're not making more?) What a hidden gem here. Sabrosa Venezuela is located right in the Worcester Market. My first time trying some Venezuelan empanadas and definitely won't be the last. Stopped in at Doughnut homies and noticed Sabrosa so I wanted to give it a try. Placed an order of cheese, beef, chicken, and cheese & guava empanadas. Chicken, beef, and cheese & guava were my favorite. Loads of flavor. Chicken and beef were so flavorful. Same with the crust--moist and crunchy with loads of flavor. A small Venezuelan restaurant in the Worcester public market. They've upgraded from just a stall to having a bigger storefront closer to the entrance. I got a beef and cheese cachapa. It's big enough to split between people because there is so much meat inside. I really enjoy the corn tortilla and the melty cheese with liquid gold butter. They also sell empanadas, arepas, as well as desserts and drinks. A great place to stop by for lunch! read more

the tres leches had really good flavor but the cake did not absorb the leches that well and wasn't quite the right texture for a tres leches cake in my opinion. Still good and i'd come back to try their empanadas. read more

So glad to have found Worchester Public Market by pure chance during a family road trip. A lot of good options in the market but someo about Sabrosa really stood out (in addition to the impressive 12' tall woman mascot). Everything looked appetizing but took a chance with the chicken patacon (actually I couldn't decide so they gave me a mix of both chicken & beef - yay!) Delicious & very good portion size (based on my completely subjective 9/10 hunger scale). The fried plantain texture was spot on- perfectly crisp on the exterior while retaining a nice semi-soft center. The dish includes cabbage & carrots, but those are more of a garnish to compliment the meat & cheese - so get your veg elsewhere if you want greens. The wait time was a bit long, but staff were friendly and took time to explain the various dish options. Limited seating is available inside, which is nice if you're not feeling like mingling with the general market-goers. All in all a solid meal & restaurant worth a try. read more

I tasted this restaurant's catering/food truck at an event in Boston and was quite impressed. So on my next trip to Worcester, I was determined to eat here. The menu at the restaurant is more expansive than the food truck. Boo and I had two empanadas, two cachapas, and two passion fruit juices. The food was fresh and super flavorful. Excellent and friendly service. There are a few tables to sit in the restaurant, which is basically a small alcove off the Worcester Food Market. The setting was clean but not super roomy so if there are already a bunch of folks who are there when you arrive, you may not be able to sit there too. The only way I think they could improve is if they make their service items more environmentally friendly. Plastic and styrofoam need to be phased out as many places as possible in our Climate Emergency. Unfortunately they can't even offer recycling for their plastic refuse. All that said, this is definitely a new favorite! We will be back again on the next trip to Worcester. read more

We loved the food and service at Sabrosa Venezuela! We ordered a large number of empanadas (80, including vegan ones!) last minute for an event at a nearby University and the cashier was super helpful and accommodated the order to be delivered to the event place. Empanadas arrived on time, still warm, and very well labeled. Everyone at the event commented on the flavors and presentation of the empanadas, which were delicious!!! The word of the empanadas spread fast and the event was a total success with record attendance! PS: My favorite was empanada de pabellon but all of them were pretty good and filling. I can't comment on the food: I have never been able to find the place. I attempted a delivery from this location, walked around for 10 minutes, called the place, and wasn't given any help finding it. You need a sign that people can find if you are going to subcontract delivery. read more
