    Pollo Guisado and Queso Empanada
    Jesse C.

This was my first Venezuelan food experience. I ordered Pollo Guisado and a Queso Empanada just before closing. The stewed chicken and rice was very flavorful and tasty. I will be returning.

I did a to good to go order and noticed we needed more food. Ordered stewed chicken, which came with rice and beans. The sides were good-sized, and the chicken was delicious! The lady who helped me was so friendly and smiling. The arepas were so good also. I can't wait to go back!

The food here is fantastic. I personally can't get enough of the tequenos and cachapas. The staff are so kind and friendly. Unfortunately, they have a tendency to take a longer time to make the food than one would expect (I've waited over an hour with no one else in front of me), and when I've done delivery from there it was even worse. I really want to love and support this business but at the very least I would like to know what exactly takes so long and why can't they at least give a heads up? Still- if you're curious about this place, try it out!!! The food really is fantastic. Get the tequenos or the Cachapa you won't regret it.

Arepa and jugo de piña (you could see two empanadas in the back)

So delicious! This was my first time trying Venezuelan food and it was amaaaaazing. The menu isn't very big, but that doesn't matter because what they do offer is just awesome. I got an arepa and jugo de piña while my husband got two empanadas and a limonada. All that for about $20. It may not sound like much, but our meal was so filling and satisfying. The cashier was so nice, too! Be warned, this place is tiny. I think about 10-15 people sit inside. Street parking is available. I think people would have an easier time parking on Washington St. it seems like there's more space there

    Chicken Cachapa

First time here and WOW this place is good ! Got some chicken Cachapa, chicken empanada, and some plantains. All were excellent. Best cachapa I've ever had. The empanada crust was different, delicious, and filled with some tasty-ass chicken. Green sauce was really good also, whatever it was. Service was on point. Can't wait to come back to try everything else they have.

    one of everything, please

Service was pretty terrible, but the food was amazing. I would recommend, but be prepared to wait a while.

I like to try a variety of food and decided to try this place. I want to make it abundantly clear that this three star review has NOTHING to do with the service. The young man who cashed us out was incredibly kind, understanding, and explained every aspect of the food. He even offered to let us try a free empanada. Their service was 5 stars worthy. The food was not. I had the bowl and my significant other had the chicken arepa. He said the arepa itself taste good but was small for the price. My bowl was just okay. The rice was bland with some hard pieces, plantains were mushy, and the beef was a little stringy and I felt it was pretty bland as well. The black beans were the best thing in the bowl. My dish was warm at best. I'm disappointed to write such a low review because I wanted to like Sabrosa but ultimately I should have tried any of the other dozen options for lunch in the market.

I also got other Venezuelan items including the 3 leches cake (3 milks cake) and quesillo (Venezuelan flan). I don't know how it has two 5 stars reviews as of this posting. The place is small and not a great ambiance for a nice dinner. It was hot as hell in there and over run with kids that looked like family the day we ordered. They were behind the register, in the common area & at tables. The price was insane for typical Latin dishes that were greasy, salty, and very unsatisfying. Most went in the trash. The rice was bland with vegetables resembling fried rice from a Chinese restaurant. It was so moist and greasy, the pork/chicharron had a strange aftertaste like it was old. The beans were ok but still needed flavor. Plantains were cut thin and not sweat like the typical ripe plantain. The skirt steak was edible and actually had decent flavor. The pupusa was artery clogging and I regret eating even half of one. A kid took the order & cooked some of the meal. He left out a few items from the order. Luckily I asked because when he said we were all set, I knew something was def missing. Had to wait another 15-20 mins more. I already spent about 30 minutes which turned to 45 mins total) waiting for take out with an empty store. That's insane...I'd steer far away if you want Spanish food that's done on a much higher level and won't break the bank. Don't say you weren't warned if decide to try this place. Highly recommend Casa de Lala who is currently relocating in Walpole. That's the best you will get with fresh, high quality Spanish food.

We ordered drinks and food, and the drinks came out quickly. However, we ended up waiting over an hour for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all (we were one of two other groups). To make things more frustrating, the tables who arrived after us were already being served. About 30 minutes after ordering food, our waiter came by and asked if we wanted anything else, and we said no, we were just waiting on our food. He said okay, but then didn't check on us again for another 30 minutes. When we finally asked about the delay, he responded, "that's why I asked you before," which felt dismissive and confusing, considering he was the one who forgot to put the order in. By the time the food arrived, it was actually really good, but the experience had already been overshadowed by the long wait and lack of communication. Really wanted to love this place. I would give them a second chance.
