We have been there for cleanings. Always brought right in, and a wonderful job was done. Today I messed up and came 2 hours early for an ortho appt. They got me in anyway, before I finished the paperwork! Then we had to schedule another appt for X-rays and more for braces. I asked - can we maybe squeeze us in today? Yes, we were moved to another room and the "next appt" was done right away. They care and explain what the procedure is all about, and were terrific with my child. I waited over an hour for a scheduled appointment and when I had the audacity to inquire about the delay rather than being sympathetic the doc assistance proceeded to behave unprofessional. I don't like to leave bad reviews, as I have a long history of going here and the majority of dentists and staff are pleasant but some really need to evaluate whether they should be working in this field and if the answer is still yes, they should reevaluate their bedside (or chair side, rather) manner. You're working in a field where people are going to run anxious (or at least I am). Dental anxiety is real I saw one of their dentists recently and this particular dentist appeared to have little regard for me, was very abrupt and dismissive and was very rough in manner. You're only going to make an anxious individual worse by acting this way. That being said, I will go elsewhere should I need a specialist in this particular area again. Several issues with this practice. 1st, they said I had 6 cavities and filled 2 in. Took 2 hours. 2nd, they also said the oral appliance for sleep apnea wasn't covered and tried to make me pay 3 grand out of pocket for it. 3rd, they canceled my appointment on me 3 times, including twice in 1 day. Pre-COVID visit: friendly staff that communicate well. This is the least judged I have ever felt at a dentist. The hygienists are so nice, and the doctor was friendly and took his time to talk to me. COVID visit: They take your temperature at the door and ask simple screening questions. The waiting room is set up to be safe. The receptionists were still welcoming while also being clear and professional about safety requirements. The hygienist was so friendly. They put a suction in your mouth to help eliminate aerosols and decrease risk of disease transfer. She also wore a face shield, an N95, and a surgical mask. I felt well taken care of and safe. Again, never felt like an imposition or as if anyone was judging me. Also, they gave me a rainbow jelly bracelet. I'm 22. Highlight of my day. I am really glad I found this place, and I highly recommend it, even if you're like me and get anxious at the dentists. read more

Fast, painless, and personable! Office staff and dental professionals. Very clear about my out of pocket, no surprises, I like that. They took me right on time and my procedure flew right by. Great Group! I suspect that Dr. W uses a magic wand when extracting teeth...you don't feel a thing! On both tooth pulling experiences with W, I had no blood, no pain, and no swelling! Have been goin for about a yr now went in with a gum irritation told i had an absess july 17th now in pain they never contacted my ins for approval on a treatment plan told me the ins takes a month for an Approval, not so i spoke to my ins. When i called to tell them my ins never recieved a plan for treatment called back and was told had to speak with the doctors receptionist who of course was off that day, called the following day spoke to lorraine who was quite unpleasant snd was told it was dent apparently no follow up. Called an oral surgeon on fri. Went in found i actually had 2 absesses went wed for extraction approval from ins immediatley, these corporate dental places have no regard for there patients. Love my hygienist and love Dr. Comanducci. But I can't recommend this office. Received a "family style" bill which included a balance for both my daughter and myself for 6 months dates of service. Bill was paid in full - partly with insurance and a check. At the most recent visit I was advised I had a previous balance. It was a small balance of $30. I asked for a printout showing the balance and the recent payments. The lady at the front desk was unable to printout the bill. So I offered my credit card for my co-pay for the visit of that day and said I would contact the Patchogue office (where the main billing office is) and resolve it with them. The lady behind the desk then started giving me an attitude stating that Patchogue had nothing to do with them and that I had to pay the balance "right now!" Since she was unable to provide me a proper bill which patients are entitled to I declined to pay the balance and she then declined to take my co-pay. I followed up with the Patchogue billing office (which does have something to do with them) and I was advised my balance was much higher than previously stated and it was for the same dates of service that had covered the bill recently paid in full. This is fraud ! Billing more or extra for the same dates of service after that bill has been paid is not legal. Absolutely horrible front desk office help. And its too bad because i really liked one of the hygenists there. My entire family has been going for years, but today was the final straw. Go in today, & the front desk says, "oh, they told you she is out on medical leave, right?" I was thinking she started her leave today, then i would understand. Went to Sachem Dental group in Selden. A nightmare experience! Dr Commanducci is a nice guy but his quality of work is sub par. Dr Turner placed the abutments, also performing a bone graft, placement should have been damn near perfect considering the need for a bone graft(additional cost). The whole process cost over $8,000 for the top front 3 teeth. First teeth from the lab were horrible, no exaggeration they looked exactly like chicklets! Dr. Commanducci thought they looked great. After sending the teeth to the lab 4-5 times I had to settle with teeth I have never been happy with. It all reflected the horrible placement and alignment of the abutments. Sachem Dental group never took any money off my bill and Dr. C first told me he would try using newer technology abutments, but I'm assuming after realizing the cost, he never wanted to proceed with that option. My teeth fall out once every week to every other week. You will not be satisfied with the sub par work done by this company. They are all about money, getting people in and out as fast as possible with no care about the quality of work. Had a cracked tooth and was in a lot of pain. Went to see the dentist here and was charged $65 for a consultation, which was fine. Set me up for an appointment the next day to see the oral surgeon. The oral surgeon spent at most, 5 minutes with me and I was charged another $93 for a consultation with him only to tell me the same exact thing the regular dentist told me. Then said they could see me for an extraction in a week. Why did I need a second paid consultation? Why did I have to wait a week. I was in a lot of pain. I only needed one tooth removed that was in pain, but was considering getting 2 other wisdom teeth removed as well. Then I received a quote. To get the 3 teeth removed, the total would be $1500. Went to another oral surgeon (on Mark Tree Road in Centereach) and was quoted $867 for the same exact thing. Went with the place in Centereach. No hidden costs. Got it done in Centereach. Great job by them. Very happy with their work and $633 cheaper. Big difference for the same job. If you have money to burn, this is the place. If not, I suggest you go somewhere else. read more

Shawn and Pat at the front desk always go above and beyond, from welcoming you when you arrive to accommodating your needs when making appointments and they do their very best to get you the soonest available appointment!! I've had everything from teeth pulled, root canals and crowns done and all Dr.'s and assistants are caring and compassionate when explaining the pain you're feeling and your sensitivity to being numb. Dr. Sumner and his assistant Stephanie are amazing; he will come up with a plan that works best for you, and get you out of pain the quickest. They both have a passion for their work and are attentive to you when you are there. All Dr.'s appointments at Sachem Dental are on time, the longest wait after going there roughly 25 times, has been no more than 5-10 minutes. And did I forget to tell you, when you're all finished, Shawn and Pat are always there to close out your service and book your next appointment!!
