Saw Dr Lacarucca with my eleven year old daughter after she had her tooth pulled in emergency room previous night. Her face was extremely swollen. He quickly put her on different meds to get things under control. That evening I was still panicked and spoke with Dr Glazer who immediately answered my after hours call and continued to check up on my daughter later that night and the next morning. As well the staff, especially Donna, was very attentive to my situation, squeezing in my daughter for two appointments and followed up with phone calls to check on her. This was overall a great experience except for Dr Wender not answering my after hour call the first night which sent me to the ER. My suggestion would be that if you advertise a Dr is on call for emergency ... then someone should certainly be available. As it turns out I would have gone to ER regardless. I highly recommend either Dr Lacarucca or Dr Glazer for children. read more

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just got off the phone AGAIN and AGAIN they tell me they will put a note in my file and someone will get back to me about the $195.00 that they say I owe. I haven't been there in years. Also, they sent it to collection. They tell me it's going to take a few weeks to have it looked at. In the mean time my credit is going to be ruining because of there mistake. Just because they had a problem with there billing department the customer is paying for it. I absolutely loved Dr Joe as my dentis. He was kind, gentle and very helpful when I went to him but now I'll have to look for another place because I feel the good patients are paying for the mishandling of there billing department. I went there for a consultation. After a few minutes of looking at my tooth, they had a nice young lady come in with a contract to sign. Estimated cost $3500-$4000. I said I needed to think about it, desk said no bill for my two minutes in the chair. Went to Carletto Dentist Group , where my issue was fixed for $330. Billing department sends me an invoice in March of 2025 for services conducted in October 2019. I ask for a phone call to explain, never heard back. They had the audacity to send it to collections, without calling me back to explain or giving me time to search my records to see if I actually paid. Stay away. My wife and I were patients of this practice for 7 years without a cavity before it was sold to Dr Lacarubba purchased the practice. Then we each a had one every visit. We subsequently left and have not had one in over a decade since. If you notice your oral health changing suddenly get a second opinion. The front desk got argumentative and difficult before we left as well which prompted us to seek or current dentist we love. read more

Wow, all I have to say is NEVER make an appointment at Stony Brook Dental professionals!!!!!! I had my first dental appointment there 3 weeks ago and the female dentist was rude and abrupt. Then at that appointment I was told that I would not be getting a teeth cleaning because I had not made an appt for that but the front girl never told me I needed to make a separate appointment for it so I left upset. They rescheduled me for a cleaning today and when I arrived I was NOT on the schedule!!!! I am finding another practice. I went here because it was tecommrnded to me but I had a terrible experience. It's hard for me to reconcile my personal experiences with the low rating of this dental practice. I've been a patient for the better part of 20 years. Cleanings twice a year, a few "onlays", one crown and a couple of fillings. Marie was just wonderful but, alas, has left the practice. I wish my teeth were holding up better but I'm nothing but satisfied and appreciative of the care I've received. read more

Dr. Marzocco provided care to me that was so deficient in all aspects that she had a representative reach out to me to offer a refund. This was probably due to the fact that if I presented to the Nassau or Suffolk Dental Association they would investigate and order her to issue a refund. I was inclined to accept the offer until Dr, Marzocco's representative was going to deduct approximately 8% due to that being the actual amount that Dr. Marzocco had paid to Invisalign. I immediately declined this offer. I found it extremely insulting that to avoid the possibility of sanctions by her peers or a easily sustained malpractice claim Dr. Marzocco would be willing to offer a refund but greedily try to save herself a few hundred dollars. I was extremely disappointed in her decision as I had previously tried to accept Dr. Marzocco's failure as a mistake. However it now appears that greed was a motivator in her deficient performance. Dr. Marzocco was treating me with Invisalign. She claimed it would take approximately 25 trays to complete the treatment. After over 100 trays I ended up going to an actual orthodontist recommended by Dr. Marzocco to repair the damage caused by Dr. Marzooco. During this deficient treatment I discovered that Dr. Wender is considered "just an employee". When I repeatedly requested to know who was actually the owner of the practice I was given evasive answers. I eventually discovered that Advanced Dental Management owns the office. ADM is so shady that when you reach out to their regional managers, who oversee the offices the managers will not provide their last name. Even their email is first name and the first initial of their last name. If you doubt the information I'm providing here simply inquire at your next appointment or before you let a doctor as incompetent as Dr. Marzooco treat you. read more

Ok, this is the story - me and my wife, we drove all the way from Brooklyn to Stony Brook (about 1.5 hours) just because of Marie. She does excellent teeth cleaning job. We have been living in Brooklyn for about 4 years and my wife still remembers Marie for her excellent and professional job. This time she did excellent job as always. Thank you, Marie! And here the pleasant part of the story ends. We both clearly mentioned before the cleaning, that we have our dentist in Brooklyn, we don't need x-rays, check-up etc... All we need is CLEANING and that's all we came for!!! Anyway, In the middle of the treatment, Dr. Joseph Lacarrubba got in, greeted me (same scenario for my wife), asked about the summer and peeked inside my mouth for 3 seconds exactly !!! Eventually, they charged us with $120 extra bucks (additionally to $106*2 for cleaning, which is ok) for this ridiculous procedure (e.g. service we didn't ask and weren't explicitly interested in). I looked at my wife and just wanted to start disputing with them - I am not used to let it go and I would prefer to be "not such a nice" person, rather that allowing anyone to abuse my wallet, but she made me sign to leave it as is. And so I did. Anyway, just be aware of those tricks, if you care to leave some bucks in YOUR OWN pocket. read more

My children and I have been going to Stony Brook Dental professionals for years. They always run on time. While all of the hygienists are great we all love Marie. I schedule my 3 children at the same time so they each see a different hygienist. At our last visit my daughter was upset that she was not scheduled with Marie. Marie was kind enough to arrange to do my daughter's cleaning when she was finished with my son. Dr. Lacarruba and Dr. Wender are both very friendly and professional. My wife had an appointment on a saturday morning. She has been going to this dentist for a number of years and even though we have moved to the city we still continued to book appointments with this practice because we wanted to be loyal to the dentist. However the reception and scheduling is horrible. We ran into traffic traveling from the city and were 20 minutes late. We called ahead to let them know we were running late. When we arrived for the appointment they had given our appointment away and could not reschedule us for another 2 hours. We had to walk away from the appointment. The office did nothing to be accommodating to help us even after the 90 minutes of travel. Horrible customer service. They themselves were running 20 minutes behind schedule which is the real reason why they would not accommodate us. Not a way to do business and not a way to keep customers. read more

Even though Dr. LaCarrubba is not my dentist, while I was visiting the area for holiday I required an emergency extraction, which was accomodated by Dr. LaCarrubba.
