AWESOME experience and even better customer service! My ole lady surprised me with a trip to Asheville for the weekend. First thing on our list to do was to get a couple's massage! Due to the fact that the place she originally wanted us to go being fully booked, she was scrambling to find a plan B. Well...she found a gem!! Upon entering, we were greeted by the receptionist and later given a form to feel out. While feeling out the form, we were offered a glass a water which was nice. The process took about 5 mins. After that we were led upstairs by the therapists who were going to perform our massages. We were led into this nicely dimly lit room. The ambience and soothing music was great! After we consulted with the therapists and after the therapists left the room, we stripped down to our underwear and laid under the blankets on the massaging tables. So WARM! We arranged for two massages for the weekend. They were very good to call back and confirm as we had been playing phone tag. The prices were good considering we have been to many spas all over including Asheville. The only cons the place was in a strip mall and in the power tool store below you could hear them testing out tools and then as we were checking out it the record store or whatever was below was cranking bass. My husband enjoyed his therapist apart from the fact that it was apparent she was sick sneezing and sniffling. He felt bad for her, I am just glad I didn't have loher as I would of been sick the next day! Overall the work was good for the price. There salt relaxation room was cool. I had scheduled a couples massage for our anniversary and booked it 3 weeks prior. We flew in from Minnesota and the morning of our massage one of them canceled. I know that is really not their fault, but it was so disappointing. They weren't really that apologetic either. And although the massage was ok, the lady who did my massage was not mindful of where she was putting my hand as she stretched it. I've had quite a few massages at a variety of salons and this was one of the best! My husband and I each did a 60 minutes massage and we were both extremely pleased with our masseuses. My (male) masseuse was very professional and focused on all of the areas I had requested (upper back, shoulders and neck). He gave an awesome head massage - I nearly fell asleep. I really enjoyed the studio as well. The massage rooms were huge and the aura of the entire space was very calming and relaxing. I had a great experience at Sachi during my recent trip to Asheville. I walked in without an appointment and was immediately welcomed. The waiting room was very relaxing itself. I had Reiki/massage with Jennifer who was very intuitive and grounding. She spoke with me before the massage started to get a sense of why I was coming in and gave me very useful advice for how to minimize body pain by adjusting my sleep position and sitting position. She warmed the bed which was amazing for me, as I tend to get cold. I am very sensitive to massages that are too "firm", which can be painful for me, and Jennifer took this into account and used the perfect amount of pressure/gentleness. I was breathing deeply during the massage, I was in a wonderfully relaxing state between awake and sleep, and felt like my brain and body had been "reset" afterwards. Highly recommend! read more

I went with my wife this past Saturday for a couples massage. Before I get to that, let me describe the place for you. It is within walking distance from downtown and is in a beautiful old 1910 house. The reception area is loaded with art done by local artists, which also happens to be for sale. Now you might be thinking "oh boy, now I'm gonna get the used car salesmen hard pressure." Tick one in the negatory box. It wasn't until I asked how much something was that the discussion was started and even then it was sans pressure (I ended up getting a rocking piece btw). So, the massage. I had Danielle and my wife had a guy. They asked us questions to determine what we needed and then we were off and kneading. I'm gonna speak about mine cuz, well, it was heavenly! Danielle was fantastic!! She worked on my troubled spots with skill and it was so relaxing that I had to fight to stay awake (normally I would have fallen asleep but I wanted to experience all I could. Went here years ago and was very impressed. I happened to be in town again and requested a deep tissue massage. I'm an athlete, muscular and just finished a long hike, so I had quite a bit tightness/soreness and a few muscle knots. I've been doing massage therapy for years. I was scheduled with someone who was fresh out of school, had been practicing for less than a year and not only lacked the hand strength but the knowledge to break out of the "routine" they teach at school and actually address my symptoms. I spoke to the lady at the front desk and her response was an immediate redirection towards me, as if I was the issue. When I voiced my concern, she stated "well why didn't you pick a male with stronger hands". First, I feel that statement is sexist. As a fan of massage therapy, I have exclusively requested females and there has never been an issue of hand strength to address my symptoms. I left feeling belittled, still very sore, knotted and regretting my decision. read more

I had a prenatal massage there the other day and while the actual massaging felt good, I wouldn't recommend it based on the environment. The room was pretty cold and I found myself clinching the pillow and being unable to really relax. The masseuse's hands and lotion were also cold and even though I was under a sheet and fleece blanket, my toes never warmed up during the whole 90 minutes I was there. There were also some key details and minor details that I suggest they pay attention to: there was no pillow case on the body pillow that I was asked to hug and when I called it to the attention of the masseuse, she was apologetic and went to get one. But, they were all out and so we improvised with a sheet. There were no paper towels in the very cold restroom and they were out of water glasses next to their water cooler. While I know Sachi is not a spa, I did expect greater attention to detail on things that make you comfortable and relaxed. read more
