Dr. Tsai and his staff handled the start to finish procedure with kid gloves. He definitely made it a pain free process and for that I am forever grateful. I originally was referred to another endodontist, but since the other endo couldn't get me in for 3 weeks, my dentist referred me here. I was a bit skeptical at first since they had an immediate opening. My general dentist was having a hard time reaching the 3rd canal in my tooth and was already talking possible extraction if they couldn't get to it, so I was petrified that I'd end up needing an implant. I opted to see the endodontist first, of course. This is the best experience with an endodontist I've had. Dr. Patrick Tsai is very friendly and puts you at ease immediately, so it doesn't feel like you're there for a root canal at all. Cost is explained up front, so there are no surprises. Definitely one of the most pleasant root canals I've had and I've had 4. From start to finish, he thoroughly explains each step and what to expect, so there are no surprises there either. He makes you feel comfortable during the whole process. My root canal was successfully completed too! They are also very flexible with appointment times, which is nice too. I got a referral to Sacramento Endodontics from my primary dentist. I arrived hoping to get my procedure done, so that I can put this tooth behind me so to speak. After completing the paperwork, I was told I needed to take a 3D x-ray before the doctor would see me. I asked if my dentist had sent copies of the x-rays that were taken less than an hour before my arrival. I was told no, but that they would be requested, but that Dr. Tsai would not see me unless I got the 3D x-ray. Note: the 3D x-ray cost $150 and is not covered by my insurance. (Delta Dental) I was given the option, take the x-ray or come back later. As stated, I wanted to get this work done, so I took the x-ray. I saw the x-ray, it didn't look any different from the 2D x-ray, but I'm not a doctor. After discussing what needed to be done, I was again given options. Why the subject of affordability was brought up, I do not know. I don't look indigent, and why would a simple procedure that I have had done before require two separate visits? Maybe this was about money. How much they could get out of me. I left, with no procedure done, feeling like I was extorted out of $150. It's not about my money. I wanted service. What did they do before the fancy 3D x-ray machines. I'll tell you what they did. Dentistry. read more

I was referred to Dr. Tsai by my dentist, Dr. Stuart, for a root canal. He is one of the best endodontist in the business. The staff was professional and friendly. I fear and detest needles, but didn't feel a thing when he administered the anesthesia. It was so kind of him to check to see if I was experiencing any pain throughout the root canal. It was over in less than an hour. He and Dr. Stuart consulted with each other on the best procedure for me during my two appointments. I felt I was in very good and competent hands. Unfortunately, over the years I have had a number of root canals from a number of different endodontists. My last two root canals were done by Dr. Tsai, the best endodontist I have seen. Each time I was given an emergency appointment quickly and received friendly and competent care over the course of the treatment. Dr. Tsai checks to make sure you are not experiencing pain and isn't impatient if you need to give your jaw a short rest. I hope I don't need anymore root canals but if I do, I wouldn't see anyone else and I recommend him to everyone else. read more

I could not be any happier with my total experience in this office - from the minute I was greeted at the door. Dr. Tsai spent a lot of time with me during a consultation on 2 teeth that had complicated conditions. He was patient with all my questions and really treated me like I was his friend for whom he was trying to do the best while explaining choices I had. I noticed also that he treated his staff respectfully - which is a good sign, in my book, about the character of the professional. I proceeded with an appt. for 1 root canal and he was very caring in his approach and made it as fairly painless. It really was a breeze. About 4 hours later, Dr. Tsai called me at home to see how I was and told me to call if I had any problem at all. I never expected that -- usually it is an assistant who makes that kind of call. People often use the term "root canal" to describe something extremely painful so I was expecting the worst when I had to get a root canal. Not only was the procedure not painful but it was quite pleasant. I was so comfortable I was falling asleep during my root canal! Dr. Tsai is very friendly and has a very soft touch. I made the best decision of my life about 3-4 months ago when my family dentist referred me to Dr. Sharp at Sacramento Endodontics.
