It has been deemed an operable since January 2026. The article hints at a possible future educational center, but that's not set in stone. We were told by a couple of friends that it was great but we were disappointed. You do have to pay, which online and through friends there was not a payment. The price does not match the museum and walking path. The museum part was small and interactive in some parts and offered information about the solar system. There is a couple of videos you can watch but you have to ask the front to press play. There is a walking path to various telescopes with information and history but you can not enter any of the buildings. There is a small gift shop with books, toys, and apparel. Drinks and snacks were also for purchase.

But there was one thing I had never done, and that's McGinn's PistachioLand. Now imagine that you've responsibly booked a farm tour of McGinn's six months in advance and driven over 2,000 miles to complete this bucket list goal. You've even signed the waiver they texted you 45 minutes before lining up for the first tour of the day. You're ready for a unique adventure. And then, 15 minutes before you're ready to take the tour, McGinn's notifies you that the tour has been cancelled because tour guide Garret is unavailable. Really? This is allowed? If you live down the street from PistachioLand, this isn't a big deal. Take the tour some other day. But if you've driven all the way across the country for this, only to receive news of a cancellation with 15 minutes notice, I cannot imagine that the risk of visiting PistachioLand is worth it. Their farm store is neat. Pictures next to the gimmicky giant pistachio are cool. But the highlight of your visit would certainly be a tour of the actual pistachio groves. And when they're allowed to unabashedly cancel on you with essentially no notice after spending a great deal of money and effort to get there, this particular point of interest is just not worth visiting.

As soon as we decided to come to New Mexico - I knew I had to come Roswell to the UFO museum. Since I am a bit obsessed with the Roswell incident. You know the weather balloon crash. So I get in the museum and I start reading everything and listening to all the testimony. And I actually started to believe that it wasn't a weather balloon. Until I read the statement from the funeral parlor director. Supposedly the army officers requested 4' caskets. Really - aliens? And your big concern is the size of the casket? They can't go in a regular size one?? Besides we all know that the aliens get stored in the lab at Area 51. In glass jars.

All you have to do is be curious to come here. They have everything on display chronologically, some interesting visual displays, and it's a self guided with lots of captivating stories and tangible materials as it relates to the existence of aliens and UFO's. I went through here in about an hour. It would take you much longer if you read everything on display. Lots of the stories on the timeline are fascinating. I thought it was well put together and should be thrilling for the alien enthusiasts. After checking out all the museum displays, there's a decent sized gift shop offering various types of merchandise. I got a cool fridge magnet as a souvenir for visiting this infamous museum. If you ever come to Roswell, whether you are into or believe in aliens, you have to visit the UFO Museum. It represents what Roswell is known for, and it's just an overall interesting experience with everything chronologically displayed nicely.

One of the most interesting exhibits was about Chihuahita (the Mexican part of town) and the Dudley School in Chihuahita (a segregated school for blacks and Mexicans). This museum has SOO MUCH information! It takes you through the history of the area: from BC all the way to present day practically. There is a huge emphasis on the railway because, well that's what gave birth to the region. But there are also tons of knick knacks from bygone time periods that you often cant get so close to at bigger museums. You can see exactly how people lived in the 1800's and 1900's. They also have a large selection of stories and pictures from locals, as they try to flesh out the history of their immediate town and surroundings. Alot of love went into the museum. It's currently $3 a ticket, and I'd say you definitely get your $3 worth!
