This Saturday, we were there, and I needed to use the bathroom very badly before we left. When we asked for the key (because they keep the key on a stick at the desk) we were told "Sorry, we close down the bathrooms 15 minutes before closing time." It was 10 minutes before closing as we were asking. As my husband, who already has a library card here was having one issued for our daughter, I came around to the other lady at the desk to ask again, as I'm visibly pregnant, and we have an hour drive home. I implored, "I'm pregnant, I have a baby sitting on my bladder." She didn't even respond. She's sitting there issuing my daughter a library card, but she can't make an exception and hand a pregnant woman a key to the restroom. It felt inhuman. So now, although it is otherwise a great library, I don't feel like supporting a place where policies like that supersede humanity and compassion.

They have free internet and computers for the public. They offer California State Park Passes and i use them a couple of times a year. Definitely worth it.

First time I've been to a library that requires you to check in with the police department. I had…read moreto get back in my car drive a few blocks away to the police department which was only labeled by the police cars in the lot. For the new welcoming place for all parking permits it's remarkably unlabeled and not easy to find. Don't go to the main doors of the building go down to what seems to be a lower level area to find the police department. Also write down your license plate number yo save yourself a trip back to your car. I love that everyone just kept saying sorry new rules. Library visits require a visit to the police station. Someone call the firemen.

Recently, I spent a few hours here and it's a great little library, so I can now share my experience. So this is a smaller branch of the Yolo County Libraries (maybe the South Davis and other rural ones I've not checked out are smaller, we'll see). Though small, it is a solid library that has a lot to offer. Pros: - not too busy, you can actually find quiet here on most days esp. in the mornings when kids are in school during the school year and seems they don't frequent much in the summer either, according to the wife - plenty of books. They really have maximized the space usage. Quite impressively so. - kids section is in the (former) "garage" of this house. Yes, this library is basically a house that was donated/purchased. - HUGE backyard, with a covered patio/gazebo and some benches. This outdoors space is perfect for hanging out back there for some peaceful book reading. You can eat out there too. - Events: they put on quite a bunch of events that are family friendly and kids focused. Pretty good programming by the library staff here. - Friendly library staff who were quite helpful. - Summer reading program. They give kids books when they join the summer reading challenge. Motivates them to read during their long summer break. - Clean bathrooms. Not big, but more than sufficient. Cons: - limited hours - only open Tuesday-Thursday and watch the hours. - 2 computers only to reserve and use. - smaller, so you might not find the book you're looking for, but you can request and have it get sent here. - sounds echo quite a bit in a library that's a house, bring headphones if you need to do work or need quiet to read - limited spaces to sit and read, only a window seat in the adults area, and a desk for working, but there are plugs for your charging needs. - kids area can get rowdy (expectedly), but the sounds will carry throughout, not much you can do about that, and that side is a converted garage, so it's noticeably hotter b/c it seems less insulated. All in all, a solid and sufficient library that really serves the Clarksburg community well, and that we're glad we can enjoy too.

This Yolo county library is only opened on Tuesday through Thursday, and the hours are more limited, but it does only till 7 pm (10 am opening on Tuesday and Thursday, 1 pm on Wednesday). According to the librarian and a brochure, this house was purchased in 1965 by the Friends of the Library to create a library in this little town, and is owned by the Friends of the Library and rented out to Yolo county which is a rare and special arrangement these days. The house/library itself isn't big, but it's layout very efficiently and organized well so that it does have a meaningful collection of books, especially kids and teen books. There's a computer area for teens to hang out in, and children have their special section too. There's also a kitchen, and a meeting room that can be rented out for special events or even private parties. Additionally, the backyard is HUGE and well kept, and there's plenty of trees in the back so it's well shaded and you could have a little picnic or snack in the back or sit out front on the bench and watch cars drive by and kids bike along this main road leading into the town. There's a church across the street and several schools nearby caddy corner so it's a safe area. Overall, it felt like we got transported back in time to a simpler, happier, slower, and more carefree world the moment we drove into Clarksburg and entered this library. Both the librarian and library assistant were helpful and kind. I got my Yolo county library card and signed my kids and myself up for the summer reading program. We had a good time hanging out with a couple of local teens here and my kids made friends with them. We are glad we finally visited this library and we plan to be back!

It can get loud afterschool but security does a good job stepping in if it gets to be too much. Staff are kind and flexible with kids too which is so nice to see. They have great resources for kids and adults such as computers, puzzles, toys and pretend play area.

They gave me a generous gift for first time parents and I loved it. This is my favorite place to be despite it being open for a few hours. This library is located inside Freedom High School to the left if you're standing in front of the…read morehigh school, opposite side of the football field. I always bring my kids here. They have lots of selections to choose from and if they don't have it in hand, they can locate it for you. They'll notify you once they receive it so you can pick it up. All Contra Costa libraries do and they all swap books. It is so convenient here and very friendly staff.

It is a small one floor library but has an open space for Reading and study areas. There is a good…read morespace little kids to read books and check out books. There are no closed door rooms for a study area. All that is in the open. That was the only thing I didn't like. The Place was very clean. The staff is very kind and helpful. Come in the morning if you want to get some quiet time and work down. Anytime after 3pm school kids will be out and it gets pretty loud in the small spaces. Overall it is a good place to visit and rent books and movies. Also I love the new updated version of self checkout. Plus in case you get hungry it's a taco spot right in the same building. Haven't tried the taco spot yet though.

From 7 years at Davis School, to the old Morada Market and it's wonderful service and deli. Morada Little League is simply the best place to play baseball as a kid. The Bicycles offered for auction come into the hands of the City of Lodi through a number of ways... They may have been Stolen, Found, or just Abandoned. The City of Lodi is required to store the Bicycles for a specific amount of time, usually 30 Days, to allow the rightful owners to establish their rightful claim to the Bikes. If there is no claim, the Bike becomes legally abandoned and therefore City Property. After taking some pictures and watching about thirty minutes of the auction, here are some of my observations... Less than five per cent of the Bicycles are in very good condition. Don't forget... these Bicycles have been Stolen or Abandoned. Odds of finding a decent Bike is better than the Lottery, but not by much. Most of the Pre-Teen Bikes are in VERY GOOD condition - if you are looking for a smaller kid-sized Bike, this auction is a good resource. One of the better looking Bikes in terms of condition, a Trek Mountain Bike went for just $20. See Bike Picture #2 - the Red Trek. Most Bikes will sell for less than $5... Yes, the Bikes are in THAT BAD a condition! Some Bikes did not even receive a bid. You will be competing with about a hundred people for about 60 to 70 Bikes.
