Sierra is an amazing hair stylist. I am a man and my experience ends with hair cut and styling, but I'm sure she is wonderful with all other aspects of the profession. She is conscientious and intuitive and will tailer perfectly what you want, taking into account whatever factors you deem important, whether it be your profession, events coming up, and special occasions. I've been going to her since 2007 and have followed her to four different salons. She gives an transcendent scalp massage during the shampoo, which you can now book that as a separate service (15 minute scalp massage) and it's just wonderful. I love Sierra! I've been going to her for my hair for many years now. I trust her judgement so much that most of the time I leave it up to her on what will look best- new cut, style, length, highlights or full color, etc. Also the best products I've had have come from her recommendations. I even got a compliment from a hair stylist when I was getting a bridesmaid style done out of state for a wedding. She said give her compliments to whoever did my highlights, that a lot of stylists get lazy doing highlights in the back because you can't see them, but mine were done very well. Sierra did my hair for my wedding, along with a few members of my bridal party. I was going for a natural, kind of ethereal look that was simple but also special without making me look TOO different. There are so many things to consider when planning a wedding. So many choices as to who to hire, I felt overwhelmed. I was getting married in a small town and when I went to look for vendors in the area, I just wasn't happy with what I saw online. I took a leap of faith and asked Sierra who had done my hair in Venice for a year, if she would make the trip. Let me tell you, this was such a blessing. She traveled, was the first to arrive the day of the wedding, and was always so quiet and peaceful doing her work. She even made it the day before in case I wanted her to do my hair for the rehearsal dinner (I so wish she had!). She literally saved one of my bridesmaids who got her hair done by one of the local vendors and looked ridiculous. The style that she came up with to match my dress was total perfection, an elegant up do to match my Isabelle Armstrong gown that I had bought in New York. My mother in law is still talking about how beautiful my hair looked. My hair looks amazing in every picture, from every angle. Sierra is such an artist not only because she does great work, but because she found the right look that fit me, my personality, my look. It was so perfect I cried at my hair trial. If you are considering hiring her, do it. There are so many things on the day of and the days before that will require your focus and attention. I serendipitously stumbled upon Sierra one day when I walked into a salon in need of a trim. I watched all the stylists as they worked and noticed how Sierra in particular seemed to have a certain calm confidence and focus while she worked. Sierra is a hair magician. My hair is difficult and unruly. It's thick, curly on top, and straight on the bottom. I'm pretty low maintenance and don't like to spend very much time styling my hair. I've been to many different salons where my hair looks nice when I leave the salon but, when I try to style it on my own, it looks like a mushroom or just ends up a frizzy mess. Not with Sierra.
