Recently I had need for the repair of an item that is not the usual work for The Saddle Doctor. Even-so, The Saddle Doctor provided me with timely, professional and friendly service, and did it at a fair price. What-more could you ask-for! These days old-world craftsmanship is getting to be just a fond memory in many places; I'm glad to say it can still be found in Aiken at The Saddle Doctor. read more

Customer service absolutely horrific…read more I purchased a saddle from Custom Saddlery/Aviar with the expectation of proper service and support. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. The fitter Josh Shoemaker left the saddle too wide on purpose thinking my horse would grow wider, that isnt a proper fit from day one, which it took time for my horse to show signs of something was wrong. So I contacted him again with my concerns and peoblems. He came out another time and was never able to get the saddle right. Even though I paid for these fittings,(over $500) the issues with the saddle remained unresolved. He refused a refund for these failed fittings and said he was trying to save me money by having it too wide. I contacted the company with the issues and proof. When I tried to schedule with another fitter recommended by the company, they canceled my appointment behind the scenes without notifying me, leaving me completely without service. To make matters worse, one of their own fitters had promised me in writing that my purchase included two free panels -- yet I have never received them or got information on the diffrent panels. I've been stonewalled at every step and denied access to any fitter who could actually help. You cant get these panels anywhere besides through them. The quality of the fitter service is unacceptable, and the company's refusal to honor written promises or allow me access to another qualified representative has left me with a very expensive saddle that cannot be properly fitted to my horse. Buyers should be aware of these issues before investing in this brand. So Im out over $6500 and have a useless saddle.

Seven weeks ago, I purchased a mattress and pillows from the Aiken Mattress Warehouse. Several…read moremistakes were made on the receipt which I noticed the next day. There were also items on sale for which I was to get a refund. I was told that it would all be corrected. I received a partial refund about 2 weeks later. When I went back to the store, I was told that the balance was approved and I should be getting the approximately $900, back within 14 days. That didn't happen. After 2 more visits to the store, a phone call with the manager and two emails to customer service, I still have not seen the refund or even the emails which I was told I would receive. I will update with further reviews in the future.

Visited this thrift store for their big annual discount sale. The back half of the store (old…read morewarehouse) reeks of cigarette smoke. It was impossible to determine if the smell was coming from something inside the large room (i.e., furniture, rugs, items, etc.) or if that was just the way it always smelled. They keep the children's toys and items in this part of the store, among many other things. I've had severe asthma my whole life, so even just being in that room was enough to make me start coughing. They have so much of their own decor that it can be confusing when trying to figure out what is actually for sale and what belongs to the store. Additionally, the store does not individually price a large amount of items (which are clearly for sale!) which is very frustrating (some areas have signs w/prices, others do not). Items that have been priced, vary greatly. For example, a very cheap purse might be listed at $20+ while a name brand purse is listed at $8. They have a section of designer/name brand items that is also marked up significantly. It would make sense if their prices were a fraction of what the item cost brand-new, but they're out here charging $35+ for very used leggings! And they weren't even Lululemon! The cashier was disengaged and barely acknowledged shoppers, despite the long line. It takes .10 seconds to make eye contact and greet a person. There are so many better, more reasonably priced stores in the area, so this is a no for me.
