I went to the Aiken, SC Petsmart a half-hour ago to have my dog's nails trimmed. The lead at the…read moregrooming center said she can't clip my dog, Reefer's nails because her rabies vaccine expired on 8/9. I told her I thought the expiration date was 8/19. I was refused service. When I got home, I looked at her vaccination records, and her rabies shot was good through 8/19, not 8/9. I called the grooming center and spoke to the lead that refused the nail clipping. She said that an associate must have keyed in the wrong date. PetsMart should be making copies of records provided by the customer. I only got a sorry, and that's it. I am a repeat customer, and this is unacceptable to me. At the time, there were only two reviews, both negative (though I agree with Jaci on Sherri--that was obnoxious. Unless you intend to show, "what clubs do you belong to" is in my opinion an irritating question, and yes, AKF belongs to AKC if you're wondering.) Bob and Jaci have way too many dogs and they're up there in age. We went to visit the farm before we signed up for the litter, and there were dogs everywhere. But all dogs were insanely happy, wonderfully behaved sweethearts. There was a mama there with 5 week old puppies, and they looked happy and healthy. I gave a $100 deposit and Jaci gave me a slip. I took a picture of it--she did ask me to remind her of this two months later, and it's ok, there are many of me and only one Jaci in this case. There was some confusion in the email chain, but it got sorted out in no time. We picked up our little guy. I got home and wondered if I just completely misunderstand puppy anatomy, in time for a phone call. Turns out that Bob, while Jaci was away, gave me the wrong puppy, a girl he was supposed to prepare for another family. They arrived with Jaci later that day, and promptly realised the mistake. They apologised profusely and offered to drive down and replace my puppy. I said it's fine, I was in love with the little fur ball; the other family figured a boy would do as well. So that happened. I now have a beautiful wonderful one year old Berner who hasn't had a single health issue. I took out pet insurance for her, expecting Giardia and hernias and early onset hip dysplasia based on what I've read elsewhere, and nope- perfectly healthy and happy little Berner.
