We were looking to try a Persian place after a light hike and settled on Sadra Restaurant. This used to be Zeitoon Restaurant (no idea why they closed down). We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 2:00pm). Service was okay. They came by to refill our waters when we asked. Menu mainly consists of kabobs (beef, chicken, lamb chops, seafood and vegetables), lamb shank and a couple stews. They have platters to share (for groups of 2, 4 and 6) but they're pricey. - 3x Shirazi salad ($7.99) - good acidity but such a tiny portion. Not worth the price point. - Hommus ($7.99) - decent sized portion but it could have used more bread. Hommus was standard fare. - Mirza qassemi ($7.99) - smoked eggplant. Our waitress suggested this dish and it was my favourite out of everything we ate. Smooth, satisfying texture with a nice charred flavour. A must get! - Platter for 4 ($87.99) - 3 koobieh skewers, 1 barg, 2 chicken skewers, 4 lamb chops and 4 servings of rice. The platter also came with charred tomatoes and a small side of onion parsley. This was the best way for our group of 6 to sample a variety of meats. The barg (top sirloin steak) and koobieh (ground beef) were excellent. The chicken was surprisingly moist but the lamb chops were slightly overdone. The four servings of rice were too much but that's the norm at most Persian spots. Decent eats at Sadra but come with a group. 3.5 stars. read more

I forgot to take photos but we got takeout. The Cornish hen is the star of the menu. Rich saffron flavour, tender and very well grilled. The Shishlik lamb chops are good though some pieces are slightly tough. All the entrees come with this rice that has a crispy skin on top. Really good. The vaziri, regular kabobs is about on par with other Persian places. Nothing special. They are much more $$ though. The roasted eggplant was wonderful and they give you lots of pita to go with it. The ghormeh Sabzi is only ok. I debated between giving this a 3 or 4 stars. Ultimately decide that one or two outstanding dishes, but lots of ok ones and higher than average $ isn't worth justifying the 4 stars. read more

ambiance: the decor of olive and mustard yellow compliments the black and white photographs reflecting "ancient times". food: kashk bademjan (deep fried mashed eggplant, sautéed onions, garlic and dried mint served with fresh basil leaves and russian olives accompanied with tahchin crisp rice. is by far the best i've ever eaten. i recommend this restaurant without hesitation. read more

I had hair in my food and I had to argue for refund. The servers said chef is not here we have to charge you. I was scared when the manager was angry asking me whats the problem. It's a nice restaurant with nice food if they could be more clean and better customer service. read more

Service was friendly and fast, loved the Koobide, presentation is really good, the Dolme was also so good but mostly rice, not traditional dolme, its called Sarma which is made with Sticky sour rice. This was a huge disappointment. -1 star because the food presentation looked wonderful!!!! 2- food tasted AWFUL. Beef soltani was not tender. They were both tough. How can meat be so tough to chew especially ground beef? 3-the staff were putting bread from another plate that was not eaten unto another plate and served to the customer next to us as we were leaving. 4-worst part of it all was.... I saw a guy from the kitchen come out with his blue cooking/food preparing gloves walk straight out of the kitchen & straight into the washroom. read more

I've eaten at this place twice now and both times LOVED my food. Mind you I did order the same thing twice. The food is tasty, the atmosphere is decent and the service is good as well. My only number 1 issue is the horrible choice of music!! I would expect calming authentic persian music and not UK dance tracks I would otherwise enjoy at a rave. Both times the music was techno dance and loud. My second issue is that they have the famous Persian fesenjune dish, but you have to order it as an entre which comes with another tadic rice. There is no option to just get it as a side for a reduced price if you already have heaps of rice that came with your other dish. It's already made and not made to order so why not sell it as a side? Aside from the bad musical choice and not getting side options, I would still reccomend it. read more

The worst quality I have ever tried in whole around the Vancouver for any type of food. Today I was there. The first thing you will notice is a renovation inside are and then I thought changing the Resturant Managment and name from Zeytoun would cause improvement and better quality but it was even worst than past! I ordered Soltani, just as I tried a very small piece of Koubideh I found it inedible. I I didn't touch the food and just finished the Salad. Complaining about food quality with waitress just said they would try to improve. They charged me for the food I haven't eat! read more

Horrible place, from many points of view. The service doesn`t exist, the person that has to support you never follow you and never comes to the table if you don`t stay looking for her. At the same, they don`t write on the menu that the Koobideh is full of spice, and when we gave that to our daughter, she has been all time saying us that it was terribly spicy. More, they carried us the wrong bill, which was not our bill. More, the bread is not fresh, and the quantities are small. And more, again, they didn`t carry me a small part of the rest of my payment, because, in their words, "we don`t have it". And it doesn`t end here. Anyway, from all points of view, then, the worst Persian Restaurant in the North Vancouver area. read more

Food was delicious as was the presentation. Service was polite, patient and friendly. Our party was mainly vegetarian/pescatarian and there were fine options to choose from including delicious veggie kebabs, salmon kebabs and various sides. For the one person in our group who did order kubideh, that looked and smelled delicious also. We also managed to stumble into ordering 3 different types of rice including plain, green (w/Dill) and barbary. We'll definitely be back next time we visit North Vancouver. read more

We used to go to Zeitoon every time we came to Vancouver and we're worried this would be different but the food was amazing and everything was delicious and perfect. We had a wide variety of dishes and they all yummy. The kubideh and the zeitoon parvardeh were my favorites. The radio comes whole and perfect which we have never seen in our 40+ years of eating Persian food. read more
