I have been seeing Dr. Saenz for many years, perhaps 18 - 20. Fortunately my general health is good but like many others, I have my occasional bouts of allergies, bronchitis and whatnot. I never have had a problem getting an appointment. Dr. Saenz takes time yo listen to you and make an accurate diagnosis. Various lab tests and some of the other tests are regularly scheduled. You may find other family practice physicians but you will be hard pressed to find one better than Dr. Roy Saenz. read more

Updating my review. I hate trying to visit this office. Went in yesterday morning as a walk in for a few issues I most likely need an MRI for. When I called the phone number the answering service said they were open. I waited a half an hour. One of the receptionists came in and told me the doctor is not in and will be back tomorrow. I just went back this morning arriving again a few minutes before they opened. At about 9:10 the doctor came out and said they were waiting on a couple of nurses and said they would be with me. Just after 9:30 the receptionist came out and told me that the doctor wanted me to go get bloodwork and schedule an appt. Nothing remotely related to the issues I was coming in for. Just a way to not see a walk in. I go to urgent care and they say go see your primary but you cant walk in and appts take forever to get. My only option seems like paying a fortune to go to an emergency room for a non emergency related thing. I would highly advise not going to this doctor. read more

I had some scabbing up my back and I went to Dr. Saenz to have it treated. He immediately knew what it was and gave me some shingles treatment from his own stash of medications and said that should be enough. Sure enough it was healed in less than a week. I am very grateful for Dr Saenz. I also went to him for a diagnostic after an accident and he did very well treating me. read more

Dr. Saenz focuses on wellness, wellness, wellness. Proactive, not reactive. I've been going to him for many years and he's always telling me how to be more well and engaging in "tough love" discussions when necessary. He's very patient and explains the technical details carefully. Fortunately I haven't had to test his ability to treat a serious condition, but the wellness helps keep it that way! read more

Unfortunately not all reviews are good ones. Before the Covid, made appointment to see doctor, made for 9:00, seen an hour later on several visits. With Covid, was told I'd get my blood work results and go over. Never got a call from office, I was the one who had to call and request my results and still had to make an appointment with the doctor to get that. And two times a week office closes early. Unfortunately his office hours and services are not readily available. Good doctor but should really consider outside patients times and circumstances. read more

Watch out for hidden charges. I made certain I asked twice if my insurance plan covers preventative visit and was told yes but a month later I have a huge bill. Doctor seems great while face to face but surprise bill is not worthwhile. Office is not good about returning calls and cannot give me a reason why I was charged extra. read more

I'm very disappointed with Dr. Saenz's office and my family with not be returning for another visit. My husband came in for a routine physical which is covered at 100% with our insurance because it is preventative care. (I went to another doctor for the same physical and it was covered at 100%. No charges as it should be.) The billing department at Dr. Saenz's office charged us for a "New Patient Visit". We called the office multiple times to clear the charge, again explaining that this should be covered at 100% but were continuously given the run around, told the billing department was "out of office" or "unavailable" but they would call us back. They did call back once and said they would fix it. They never did. I'm not usually one to write negative reviews but I feel the customer service here was unprofessional. I eventually paid the charge because I was exhausted with the issue. If that was their plan, I guess they won. To be fair my husband said his interactions with Dr. Saenz were fine, but we will not be returning nor do I recommend this office to anyone--solely for their customer service and suspect billing department. read more

I just got back from my first visit with Dr Saenz in a few years (unfortunately, I was stuck with Kaiser for a while) and he and his entire staff were as friendly, helpful and informative as you could ever want in a doctor visit! They introduced me to their new online patient portal that I can't wait to check out. I mentioned I needed a prescription refilled and he asked me if I was using the same pharmacy, then said it's there waiting for me. Dr Saenz failed to diagnose a longtime illness in my family which lead to death. Do not entrust your health to this doctor as he has proven to be careless and untrustworthy. On several occasions speaking to him he seemed unnervingly misleading with a false sense of authority, which we unfortunately trusted. Despite repeated questioning as to why certain symptoms still persisted (after several years), we were never directed to another doctor, or told it might be something else, just the same "trust me" tone. read more

Given it's my first time visiting their office (and without an appointment), I expect an hour or two wait. First I was asked to fill out all the forms and pay my co-pay (within 15 mins), I was thrilled. However, I waited for more than an hour inside the patients room. Now, why would you asked your patient to wait so long in there if the doctor is not ready to see you? About 45 minutes in, a nurse came in and asked if it's OK to have the trainee look at me. At this point, I'm desperate for attention so I said yes. Another 30 minutes later, the trainee came in and asked all sorts of questions that are irrelevant to why I am there. No offense, but the trainee does not seem ready to see sick people on his own. Moving on, he gave me my prescription and I cannot wait to get out of there. When you think the worst is over and cannot wait to feel better, it turns out the pharmacy had difficulty reading the trainee's handwriting. Since it's time for the doctors to take their 2-hour lunch, I had to wait 2 more hours for the pharmacy to verify what he actually wrote. The simple thing for the nurse to do is look in my chart and find out what the trainee prescribed to me, yet they failed to do that. So I had to call the doctor's office again to do just that so the pharmacy can give me what I need. I understand I did not see Dr. Saenz personally, but this experience alone really left a bad taste in my mouth. Now have to wait and see if the trainee prescribed the correct meds. Cliffs: 9am - 12pm spent waiting and be seen in doc's office 12pm - 5pm spent waiting for the doc's office to clear up my meds Conclusion: Prepare to spend your whole day there if you don't have an appointment and be seen by their trainee. read more

This is definitely one of the better doctors I've seen. He is very friendly and seems to care about his patients. I didn't get the impression that he was in a rush even though the office was busy. The staff was also very nice. The office is clean and reasonable, but not new and flashy, which gave me the subliminal idea that this practice might actually be here for something other than profit. Dr. Saenz is one in a million this Dr. has saved my life on more then one occasion. the first time i went in to see him and he noticed i had lost over 40 lbs. in like 30 days so HE did a glucose test on me my blood sugar was at 600 plus he would not let me leave till it was down to a manageable level. The second time i had aspirated in my sleep and developed pneumonia over night i called and pulled him away from a consult he flat out told me call 911 or i will well to make a long story even longer it turned out not only did i have pneumonia but my potassium was the lowest the Dr. at the hospital had ever seen bottom line if i had stayed home i would be dead Dr Saenz is a first class Dr and a first class human being. read more
