I signed up for YELP for the sole purpose of writing this review. I have lived in Chicopee for the past 15 years and my husband and I have purchased installed car stereos (as well as speakers and a remote starter) from Safe & Sound for three different vehicles. I recently purchased a used Volkswagen from a private seller. It passed inspection just fine, but the stereo had to be upgraded. I brought it to S & S and Kevin performed the installation. When I came to pick up the car, Kevin walked me through the controls and options as he always does, and then he gave me a surprising piece of news: when he took the panel off of the dashboard for the installation, he noticed that my ABS alarm light had been unplugged. This was not an accident-- it had been purposely unplugged as it is not the type of switch to "accidentally" come undone. The ABS light, if lit, indicates that there is a problem with the braking system. If Kevin hadn't told me about this, I wouldn't have thought to bring it to my mechanic, as the warning had been disabled. It turned out that yes, the anti-lock braking system was shot-- a repair of over $2000-- but if I hadn't have fixed it, I might have been driving this winter in New England, hit a patch of ice, and found my brakes locked up. Yes, I am upset that the private dealer hid this fact, but I believe karma will slap him a good one soon enough; more importantly, I am truly grateful to Kevin for not only investigating this safety issue but taking the time to explain it to me. I may be out another two grand, but I'm not wrapped around a tree: THANK YOU, KEVIN, AGAIN!! You went above and beyond, and you may have saved me injury or worse. I was in the market for a high end receiver to replace one that I've owned for about 7 years and I finally, after months of research, found the one that I was going to buy. I searched all over the internet and contacted just about every authorized dealer of the brand of receiver that I was getting. This company, Safe and Sound, gave me the absolute best deal that I could find. They explained to me that yes, maybe I could get one cheaper, but not buying from an authorized dealer means no manufacturers warranty. I was sold (as their price really wasn't much more than the e-bay ones were going for with no warranty). Anyway, I ordered the receiver and it was on my door step the next day! OK, long story short, the receiver had a manufacturer defect so I called Safe and Sound. A return label was e-mailed to me, and the new replacement receiver was at my door before I could even get the defected one out to UPS. These guys (Dave and Kevin) are amazing, and this is how I wish every company did business. I've even gotten follow-up emails since the replacement arrived asking if everything is OK with the new one. These guys are extremely knowledgeable, they know how to operate a business, and are a pleasure just to talk to about anything audio related. From now on, I'm buying all of my equipment from them and I have been recommending them to everyone I can think of - turns out they're only a few hours from where I live, so I'll be visiting their store for my next purchase. Yet another great installation by safe and sounds expert techs! So happy as always! ( my 2010 honda accord) well worth the wait! Id like to first start by saying that the only negative review written about this company is by someone who ONLY has written negative reviews for every company he has reviewed, there is not one positive one written by him..( you can see by his profile ) this is an example of someone who shouldn't have the ability to write reviews. I'm sure no matter what safe and sound did, they couldn't have made him happy and I hate those types of people. I know for a fact they would have went out of their way to try to make it up to the guy if something had went wrong.. I know the types of people they are. Iv been ordering from them for years. Safe and sound is my GO TO shop, I have never recommended anyone else nor would I ever want to. I have been going to them for 15 years. My recent experience shopping with SafeAndSoundHq.com - Considering an addition of landscape audio to my backyard, I called up Safe And Sound (safeandsoundhq dt com) and had a pleasure to speak with Dave who carefully listened to my wants. Very quickly he reaffirmed my consideration for Martin Logan outdoor landscape system and prepared a proposal with a generous discount on the pricey system. It was Friday already and I wanted the system be installed latest by next week Sat (8-days) in time for an upcoming party. It was a big challenge to get the entire system over to California from back east esp. that it included the hefty Martin Logan Sub-120 subwoofer which ships only via freight. Dave worked closely with Martin Logan to get my speakers and subwoofer delivered within 4-days which was totally unbelievable. I had all my gear by the following Fri, the day before my installation was scheduled. All was well until I ran into the issue of the Crown AMP overheating. I made the call back to SafeAndSoundHq.com and Aaron was tremendously helpful in laying down the troubleshooting steps. He was spot-on in his hypothesis and helped resolved the installation issue very quickly. Excellent all around. Service, Sales, Products and Pricing. I had been upgrading my home theater with a pre-amp, amp and new surrounds. I had just placed an order with Best Buy Magnolia for the amp and pre-amp. I found Safe & Sound online searching for Klipsch surrounds. (kind of expensive speakers). I had also done my homework and research. I realized how close this shop was to me. I called them and asked whats the best price they could do, and i was local. The price was so good I immediately drove there to get them. (45 minutes) During conversation they told me they could have beat Best Buys price on the Marantz products, and they would beat any other price I could get. Over the course of the next few days I did just that. Cancelled my order with Magnolia and went through Safe & Sound. All around I've been super happy with the products, the price and service and just the conversations with the owners (I believe was Mike and Dave). I've even been there since because I may upgrade my center channel and front speakers. I already heard them in the store and the price they gave me I haven't found anywhere. Thanks again guys. These guys at Safe & Sound are FANTASTIC! I have been super pleased with their services that I have received over the past 15 years with my 2006 PT cruiser. I have received excellent customer service and they make sure that you are completely satisfied with the services that have been rendered. One of the main reasons that I continued to use SAFE & SOUND for my auto start and smart start products because they make sure that you understand the work that was done on your vehicle and they do not over charge you because you are a woman. Recently started having problems with my VIPER auto start that has been installed in my vehicle for over the past 15 years and every time I took my car to trouble shoot the issue that was coming from the either the battery or the auto start, they guys continue to research was the root of the cause of the problem. This is a fantastic place to do business with, if you love audio but don't enjoy the frills and sales approach of the typical high end audio store. I initially discovered Safe and Sound on the web while looking for used Parasound gear, and several calls and emails later, was able to upgrade a good part of the system for a resonable price. Mike and Dave are friendly, cheerful, and very knowledgeable about their products and they provide first rate service. After purchasing the initial system upgrades, I wanted to buy a system for someone in my family, and Mike and Dave worked within a budget to provide options and suggestions which were exactly what was needed. Dave even drove the system to our house on the weekend (about a 150 mile round trip) so that I could drop it off as a surprise prior to the birthday celebration! David, is very knowledgeable, exceptionally pragmatic about equipment, is not pushy about products, delivers on time, backs up his products, and is exceptionally decent as a person. I went to Safe & Sound to have a complete factory appearing stereo system install on my 1970 Chevelle convertible that just had a complete frame off restoration done. I dealt with Kevin who treated the car as if it were his. Kevin and I went over the many options I had as far as the system goes, it took me over a month to determine what I wanted, and at NO time did I feel any pressure whatsoever to make a decision. I was looking for a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 706 s2 speakers in Rosewood to complete the front soundstage of my system and by chance S&S had one pair in stock. I checked many other vendors across the US and Safe & Sound was the only Authorized B&W dealer who had the Rosewood units. Being close to Christmas and I was in Colorado I wondered how prompt the processing and shipping would be. Ordered on a Saturday afternoon and they were on my doorstep in 5 working days. I bought an open box Onkyo receiver last weekend. I didn't mind that it wasn't brand new, as long as I had the same warranty and could save some money. After not seeing any activity in my order status for a few days, I emailed them and they quickly confirmed that there was a mixup with my shipment at UPS. I had purchased a new receiver at Best Buy and I stopped in to look at Dolby Atmos speakers. Safe and Sound had a much better price on the receiver so I got theirs and returned the Best Buy one. We started talking speakers and I thought my 10 year old Bose speakers were pretty darned good. They advised some new Klipsch speakers for the Atmos speakers. I ended up buying a complete Klipsch system. I am cheap and hate to spend money, but my home theater now sounds like a multiplex theater. Money well spent. I got a remote starter system installed 5 years ago and hasn't failed me yet. Unfortunately, I was in an accident twice in the past two years and both times, S&S was able to reset the remote start and didn't charge me. I know many other company's out there would charge for this so it's nice that they focus on the customer and actually have customer service and stand behind their work.
