The little park at this harbor is amazing for an airy, frequently crisp walk. While we've been there before, it was too hot in WC, so we came out to be a little closer to the water and enjoy the breeze and salt air, taking the looping path along the water where on a clear day you can see the city and then closer in to the marina. I do wish they had a few more benches but the parking is free and there's always a ton of small dogs to greet along the path. Overall, we definitely recommend it, especially if you plan on stopping by the nearby Tokyo Central after! read more

It's a beautiful and relaxing Marina to walk along, enjoy the sights and take some beautiful photos. We got on a free shuttle called the Emery Go from Bay Emeryville Outdoor Plaza to this Marina. On one side of the Marina is the Oakland Skyline and on the other side is the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. Also that big blue hand is a weather vane called the Peninsula Telltale & Overlook and art sculpture. I wish i would have walked further along to Trader Vic's,. I'm the type of person that gets intrigued by any and everything and want to dig deep and get to know places I am traveling. My travel mates just wanted to relax and hurry back. I enjoyed the little time i had in Emeryville. I may not be back for awhile because there are many places on my bucket list. There were a lot of Yachts so if you own a yacht, can we be friends?? Jk jk. Overall, Emeryville was a 3.85 stars for me. Nothing has topped Oregon yet. read more

Me and my babe met up at his friend's boat to go out on a double date. I fell in love with the view of The Bay instantly it's where I was raised. We met quite a few ppl who reside here on their boats, it was just like a camp ground with bathrooms and shower accommodations, I must say even the dogs looked happy to be here. Whether you were having a nice walk on the path, skating, jogging, riding bikes or simply just having a picnic on the green, this place definitely called for some R&R. This Marina is awesome!! This is a great place to come when the heatwave is in effect, but nights and early mornings, it can get cold and windy. I love how you can hear the traffic on the Bay Bridge off in the distance, mixed with the Bay winds, a classic close but far away feel. A great place to run or walk, or even fly a kite. But I love to come here to relax and collect my thoughts, walking along the paved trail or staring out at The City and Bay Bridge is the best, the views get no better than this. I only got out here once for the 4th of July Fireworks, on clear nights, you can see SF and Berkeley fireworks. But it's so crowded, I haven't done that in a long time. Great place!!! read more

I love coming to the marina on late nights to clear my mind. The cool city breeze and scenic view is so relaxing. Perfect for a late night stroll or even just a romantic talk. The marina parking lot is always occupied. However, their is still always a parking spot for you. I love listening to the crickets chirp as my boyfriend and I vent about our weekly schedules. It's so therapeutic. It's a perfect place for a impromptu picnic also. Sometimes we grab a bottle of wine, and maybe a snack or two from the BevMo & TJs down the street to watch the sunset over the bay bridge. It's the perfect view. The dimly lit bridge lights in the back make for the perfect ambiance to enjoy each others company. I adore the Emeryville Marina! It's a great place to go for a walk or a run. There's a paved path that runs parallel to the marina which allows for the best views of the water. It's not nearly as crowded as the Berkeley Marina and virtually offers the same kinds of views. On a clear day, you can easily spot both the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges. It's the perfect place to escape too when the hot East Bay heat takes over. It usually stays pretty cool, but watch out because at night the winds are blusterous and it can get quite cold. At any given time, you'll see people taking their boats out for a ride on the bay. I like to come here to collect my thoughts and catch some nice sunsets. If you're into that kind of thing, then this is definitely the spot for you. The waves are quite peaceful here. It's a scenic destination with relaxing vibes. There's also a small recreational area with picnic tables and barbecue pits. I've never had an issue finding parking since this marina tends to be far less traveled, however you should watch where you park because some spots are paid parking only. If I had a boat, I would spend most of my time sailing on this marina. It's peaceful, relaxing, and offers some of the most stunning views of the Bay Area. read more

This is the best place to watch the fireworks for Fourth of July. Has been for years for me. I mean you can literally see Berkeley Marina's fireworks, Sausalito, and San Francisco (if it's not too foggy that is.) if it is foggy, Berkeley got you. Coming here for the past 10 years on and off, watching the fireworks, I'm still surprised it doesn't get packed here, another reason why this is the best place to watch the fireworks. I've also come here during the weekends, and that is definitely the time when it gets packed. read more

Living at a marina and on a boat was definitely a hard transition, but having a nice, clean marina in a great location made it so much better. The friendly staff are great and are always on the move to make improvements in the area. This review is just for the fishing pier aspect of Emeryville Marina. I go here every now and then just because it's the closest pier to me, it's typically uncrowded, and parking is pretty easy. It's also open until 10pm (at least during the summer season), so you can fish a little bit later after sunset than some other piers. Fishing can be so-so--I've had days where it's been very successful (catching halibut and striped bass on the same day), other days where it's been completely dead (catching nothing at all). Unfortunately, I still haven't figured out exactly what the pattern is, but I'll still probably come back here if I'm looking for a quick trip to get the lines wet in the water. read more

Terrible Harbor Master, and not in sync with the staff, she did everything possible to make us feel unwelcome, of course with a smile on her face. We did ask about liveaboard, first she said there was no list, then later there was a list, after we filled out the application with our desired slip chosen. A staff member showed us the slips available, so we picked one, when that one was run by the harbormaster, we were told we would need a total of three to pick and submit as choices to rent. Seems a lot of funny business going on with the inner politics of the staff, and the corporate style Harbor Master, running her own personal choices harbor. The docks with liveaboards and other boats were generally not of the class of boat, meeting the demands of the Harbor Master representing Safe Harbor which our boat that was being judged by, that being said ours is nicer overall but there were a few beautiful boats. As well her insurance comments, where she was totally off base and our personal business, frankly it did not all add up, or maybe it did the management is unprofessional and biased, unbelievable experience. read more

Who ever heard of rating a MARINA on the view! It rents HOLES in the water of various size and provides associated BOAT amenities. In that regard, and the INCREDIBLE courtesy of the staff, this harbor is GREAT! (Nearby sub-leaser's of 'holes', Emery Cove, not so much). Sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes not; if moored at City of Berkeley, it is cheaper- but leave your hatches unlocked... least they be crowbarred. read more

Just spent a week out at Emeryville Marina sailing and working on my buddy's boat and had an opportunity to checkout the operations there. I came away favorably impressed with the maintenance of the facilities -- which encompasses a huge number of boat slips along with well-appointed bathroom facilities. Everything was very clean and in great shape, especially the separate, individual bathrooms which afford private toilets and hot shower facilities...NICE! One marina staff member in particular, Eric, provided a high level of service, warmth and professionalism. We really appreciated Eric going out of his way to make sure all of our needs were met! If you are in the market for a well-run marina to berth your boat, we cannot more highly recommend Emeryville Marina. This is a beautiful green and well-maintained location to have a picnic. There are 4 -5 sections available for rental. There are barbeque pits, tables, benches, and bathrooms to accommodate a large party. On a sunny day this is an excellent spot with views of the bay and San Francisco. read more

This place is nice. My family had a picnic here yesterday. It is beautiful place. If you are planning to visit, it is free. Parking lot parking is free for 4-hour, but I think you can stay a little longer. If you are planning to have a picnic, find an area on the side where all boats are docked/parked because it appears lesser wind than other areas. Fishing/crabbing on the pier is also fun for a day. Walking/jogging around the park is also fun. Bring a folding chair, a blanket, and a binoculars if you like to watch the beautiful city and its architecture. Basically, it is great place to chill and soul searching. Once you are here, open your mind then you will analyze religions on a different level. read more

I came here one day after having dinner at Chevy's (very close drive if you are in the area) and it was a beautiful night! We arrived a bit after sunset, but regardless the view was gorgeous. Pros: -Secluded, if you like that, so you can take a nice walk without too many people everywhere -There is a nice trail that you can walk which is by the water and the gorgeous view, so you don't have to worry about not knowing where to go. -I'm usually a little scared of oceans and large bodies of water, but I like that in this location you walk ALONG the water rather than into it (like in Berkeley marina) so you don't get too close! (This may not apply to many of you...) Cons: -The view is not AS beautiful as Berkeley Marina, which I think can be attributed to us simply being farther away and not located as favorably. Tip: It's INSANELY cold, so make sure to bundle up if you plan to step out of your car! If not, it's a good cuddling spot as well :) Verdict: I hope to come back one day during the day! I can see it being beautiful even then and I think I could see the SF Bay Bridge view much more clearly. A sunset here would be beautiful too. read more

Very nice and beautiful park. Gorgeous view of the San Francisco Bay and city. It looks clean and very well maintained. There are lots of parking. We didn't drive though so not sure. We actually took the BART from SF, got off at MacArthur, then took the Emery Go Round shuttle. We got off at Powell and walked on the Bay Trail towards the park. It's a nice walk.. about 2.5 miles roundtrip. It was a sunny and quiet Sunday when we went. Very peaceful. A couple of people were fishing, some were having a picnic, people with their dogs, family playing football. There's also a huge Chinese restaurant but don't know the name. This post is for both residents of the marina and park goers... today I was using restroom facilities before my morning walk while who I'm presuming is the owner/manger of this marina due to the fact he was overseeing work being done in the center of the bathrooms where the pipes and everything are. This bathroom is technically a open air bathroom so you can hear what's going on clearly inside all three bathroom areas no matter where you are inside. As I sat there, I began overhearing a pretty disturbing conversation being carried by the presumed manager/owner(older thinner white man in blue lumberjack print jacket blue pants) to the workers that were there repairing the plumbing. During my less then five minutes in the bathroom I had to unfortunately listen to this man talk to the workers about how he loves "fat p*ssy" ... he first referred to it as an acronym I don't remember and then continued on gleefully saying how he pays for "big cl*toris" when the workers did not respond to his disgusting rhetoric he continued by saying "well I guess it's an old guy thing" DISGUSTING. Unfortunately it didn't end there. As I sat in horror (a female) listening to this man ignorantly spew out some of the most disturbing cross conversation I've ever been caught in he then proceeded to ask the workers "you know what else I don't get? Gay guys..." he did not end his comment there, he went into how it's "the best thing right now to be gay, you can't even get fired" along with many other homophobic slurs... I was DISGUSTED AND DISTURBED after hearing this. This is pure ignorance and homophobia, along with super predator tendencies with the sexually explicit comments about women. I will be printing this post and posting it any place it can be seen for anyone who lives at or frequently visits this place. This guy should lose his job, or if he owns this place sell it to a decent human being with morals... which he clearly lacks. Disgusted and disappointed is an understatement. read more

This is a great spot for a walk and/or a picnic. Great views of the city and also the boats at the Marina. There are picnic tables and benches, as well as charcoal grills, and restrooms. Plenty of parking (I've never had a problem getting a spot). Be aware that on the Marina side some of the parking requires payment, so watch the signs. There is a nice path that runs from the tip of the Marina all the way back to Emeryville, where you can also pick up the trail that leads north along the bay to Chavez park. read more

I have been an Emeryville Marina member for almost 7 years. I reported an unsafe situation to the new Harbor Master the next day received a termination notice and my rate increase to $55 a day till boat is moved. My slip fees were paid in advance and current. My boats are houseboats and no marina in the bay area are accepting houseboats. Safe Harbor corporate office is not returning my calls. Such a beautiful and peaceful park in what should be Northwest Oakland. Emeryville has always had much more of the money and steals our commerce. I expect no less than a beach this stunning. Emeryville should help out Oakland more and help with our waterfront. The Marina is a little bit out of the way, and you have to pass I-80 to get there. Once you get there it can be nice. read more
