It has an area for smaller children, with a choo-choo train, slides, activities, kids swings, letter hunt game, garden, etc. In addition is has a tire-swing, big-kid swings, a small misting shower (for hot days), chime-bell area, monkey bars, a sliding pole, as well as stroller parking, and benches for adults to sit on. Lots of local businesses and individuals (like ANG's 193rd Special Operations Wing) sponsored & helped with its construction. As mentioned it has a covered pavillion with picnic tables, restrooms, water fountains, as well as a rollerskating rink, soccer & baseball fields nearby. There also is a wetlands nature trail that you can walk or push a stroller along that has info about the flora & fauna of the area. Ample parking nearby.

Gave an excellent show for about an hour and a half. Nice large park not a bad seat anywhere. Very family friendly. A lot of families with from babies on up to preteens. Couple of the dads were playing catch with their toddlers off to the side. Great place to have the kids and get up and run around. They're not bothering anybody. You can bring in your own snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. It's all free. Bathrooms are easily accessible. They had two extra porta-johns as well as the already established restroom building, which was very clean by the way. Lots of parking, handicap accessible. They had closer parking for those that needed it. It's relatively easy to get in and out of the park there is a traffic light. Traffic does back up a bit but it's not too bad. We had a great time just sitting and listening to music and enjoying the weather. If you have a chance, check out Longs Park for their free summer concert series.

It's a great place to linger on a nice day. We got to enjoy their summer concert series on a Sunday. This is a very busy park so come early to grab a parking spot. During concerts you can grab food from mobile venues to enjoy throughout the concert. So bring a chair or blanket and enjoy a relaxing night of music. Worth a visit!

Amos Herr Park is a 56-acre paradise thanks to a brand new children's play area called the "dream…read morepark." I came upon it today while having a meeting in Landisville and was so impressed that I had to bring my boys after school. The itself park was donated to the Township by the late Amos Herr who was a former high school teacher and coach. His ancestors were among the earliest settlers of Landisville. The new "dream park" was almost completely financed and built by the residents of East Hempfield Township. It took them 11-days to construct the playground and it opened last year. This adorable play area includes a zip line! Here are some of the other amenities: * Soccer and baseball fields * Tennis courts * Bocci court * Basketball * Volleyball courts * Restrooms * Rental Pavilion * Large, grassy fields * Benches * Water Fountain (play area) * Dog Waste Station * There are plans to build a trail.

There is a lot of large equipment, but not a whole lot of variety or imagination in the different interactive functions. Reeves Park's playground (Phoenixville), Smith Memorial Playground (Fairmount Park), Freedom Playground (Haverford), and Aston Twp's new playground all have really imaginitive stuff, and just as large of an expanse (if not larger). I also have to give props to the Reeves Park and Freedom playgrounds for being fenced in (Smith is, but it's so big, the fence is not as containing as it could be). Kids Dream is not fenced, unfortunately, because it is a layer of safety I always appreciate, for young kids who run, and also just to keep out wandering dogs (the ones on a long leash whose caretakers aren't paying attention) or to dissuade sketchy people from hanging around (sorry but they're everywhere). There is a nearby walking trail, and it's also adjacent to township offices (shared parking lot). I do have to comment that there was a bit of litter generally around, which is never okay for a kids' playground. Also, this playground is pretty crowded. Parents seemed adequately considerate, but honestly, all the abovementioned playgrounds had a better vibe to me. Maybe because this place was built up by my recommendation and the reviews, but it wasn't as great as my expectations (and comparative experiences).
