We've been taking our cars to Cody for 3 years. We met him via a professional relationship (we have 4 vehicles) and are not otherwise acquainted with him. Cody is a rarity in this age of materialism and money worship: HONEST and HARD WORKING. Everyone has a certain code they live by, and it is obvious that Cody lives by a code of integrity and honesty. He is like a throwback from the old west. I have paid twice as much for car repair ten years ago. It is obvious that Cody charges his actual time and doesn't go by that secret book auto mechanics have which tell them how much they "should" charge for a particular service, regardless of how long it takes them to diagnose and do the work. So, if it takes 10 minutes, they charge you for 60 minutes at an exorbitantly high rate. You know what, we are all working hard for our money too. Cody just doesn't have an ounce of greed in his body and doesn't succumb to temptation. A lack of integrity which most people could justify in their minds is clearly too high a cost for him. Cody is a straight shooter. He'll help anyone and REALLY tries to be flexible, as is obvious from the other reviews here. He's polite and courteous. read more

I brought it into Cody and when I say this is the BEST mechanic I've ever been to I mean it. When he says that he has the best prices in town he means it! Our life together started 50 years ago in Bavaria Germany so it was fitting for us to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary in USA Bavaria (Leavenworth)! Unfortunately upon returning to our auto after enjoying a morning tour through the Bavarian shops we were greeted with a loud noise in our engine just before lunch. Understand this is Friday afternoon about 1:00 PM when I met Cody. I explained and showed him the noise. He quickly determined a bad water pump. He went the extra mile to find a water pump that was 60+ miles away. So we went off to lunch. Incredibly Cody called me at 3:15 PM that same afternoon and said "your car is finished and ready to pick up!" My husband and I were on a camping/hiking vacation in early June, when our Tahoe overheated halfway up the mountain to hike Colchuck. After two hours of coasting down the mountain on neutral and pulling over to the side of the road to allow the engine to cool down, we finally made it to NAPA. One of the NAPA employees spent over an hour and a half trying to help get the broken piece out of the hose. Jesus, a mechanic at Safe Havens, had stopped by NAPA after work to pick up a part. He noticed my husband and NAPA worker under the hood of the Tahoe. He came over to see if he could assist. He gave guidance on what to do and how to test the engine before driving to make sure there was no damage. Jesus spent about 45 minutes helping us in 90+ degree temps after a long day of work. Even after things appeared to be running well, Jesus encouraged us to test drive the Tahoe getting up to certain RPMs to make sure things were running properly. He told us to drive back to NAPA to report how it drove. We did as he said and it ran well. We are forever grateful with Jesus walking us through the process and making sure our Tahoe was safe to drive before sending us on our way. Jesus was a life saver that day! If we ever have another auto situation while we are in the Leavenworth area, Jesus at Safe Haven will be the first person we call. read more

My family and I came to Leavenworth to go sledding had a great time. But on the way home we were T boned turning into the shell station just out side of Leavenworth Harding toward Stevens pass. We had to have our Denali towed to the best western were we stayed the night till morning so we could get our car fixed enough to drive home. So the day after Christmas here we are stranded in Leavenworth. I called a few places to fix my steering tie rod , that was bent into a pretzel. Our minivan started to losing coolant over the pass, we stopped in Cle Elum to fill up and I refilled the coolant system. We arrived in Leavenworth and the coolant was gone again - not good. There is such a thing as simply being kind and I'm sorry to say this guy failed. We needed to buy an emergency car part and thought we were parked in the auto parts lot, but we were parked one space too far. While we were trying to repair the car, the owner came out and asked us to leave because he didn't allow people to work on their own cars. We tried to explain our situation but he complained about his rent. Sorry dude. We were in a bind too. RUDE!!!!! I have never written a review on yelp before but after a two recent experiences (one with my mom and one with my grandmother) I felt I had no choice. The guy name Cody that works at this auto repair shop is one of the rudest people I have ever met. On the first occasion (a while ago) when we went to pick up the vehicle he acted like taking our payment was an inconvenience and we were in his way; we would have been glad to leave but he still had the keys to the car, which also was apparently a very difficult thing for him to do ...we were just there to pay the guy and get the car. The second time (sometimes people have bad days so we though we would try it again) when we stopped to ask about getting a defroster fixed he YELLED at my mom that he was busy and doesn't have time - we didn't demand that he looked at it that day just wanted to know if/when he could look at it. We left and took the car else where... Leavenworth is a small community with most business surviving on local' words of mouth; so spread the word!!! read more

I was in town for Christmas from Whidbey Island, and we'd all smelled something burning coming over the pass at one point. I was hoping it wasn't my trusty 2001 Chevy Tahoe, which was nearing 100K ... but it could also have been the brakes from a trailer in front of us. I stopped to pop the hood, and the smell was gone, but I feared it was from engaging the 4WD that doesn't get used much, as there'd been a slow leak in the front transfer case for years that I kept topping off. I waited a day after to decide to get it looked at, as we had to head back 120 miles after Christmas, and I didn't want to break down in the cold & snow, going back over the pass. So it was about 2pm, Christmas Eve day, and Cody answered. He said they were closing at 3 for Christmas Eve, and to get over. I said he could just top the fluid off & that would be great, but he said he'd need to get it up on the rack. I got there at 2:40pm, and he had his tech get it in the air. The tech removed a lower bolt to check the oil, and it showed that there was NO problem with the interior parts. He was more than fair with the charge, and I was gratefully on my way. I really appreciated him getting me in & out, and I wish he were closer, so I could have more work done, when it comes up. We got to talking about stuff & it turned out he'd played guitar for years & kept a picture of his original band, with his original hair! He keeps it right above his desk.
